officejet 7500a - printing from i-phone -I want to print doc.s in black or grayscale. I now get only color prints. how do I chane this.?

The only way to change the color of the printouts from your iPhone is through HP's free mobile app "HP ePrint Home&Biz". This is available in the App Store.
Simply download and install the app, choose a file to print from within the app, then press the icon at the bottom right of the screen that is a wrench and printer. This should then give you the option to choose the color output. Make your selection, press "Done", then press "Print."
If you are not seeing this option, you may need to setup ePrint for the printer and then register the app. This registration will also give you more functionality with the app.

First, here is how to make sure you are changing the black only settings; In the software program that you are trying to print from, click File, and then click Print. (or Command+P)I have put a red box around the drop down in the image below, from this menu you want to choose Paper Type/QualityIn the Paper Type/Quality tab, click Color Options, (usually you have to click the little arrow, again outlined in red on the image)If you want color printouts, make sure that Greyscale is selectedChange the Greyscale mode to Black Ink Only or Black Print Ink Cartridge OnlyClick Print to try the print job again. Next you might want to read about how your ink supplies are used; The following information is from this article; Ink Usage in Inkjet Printers - it discusses several aspects of ink usage with HP printers. Ink is used in a number of ways throughout the inkjet printing process. In general, ink in an ink cartridge is used for printing documents, photographs and other such materials. Some ink, however, must be used to maintain the health of the print head; some ink is residual; and some ink evaporates. Sorry to hear you are having problems.
If you are using the AirPrint functionality, this is limited in terms of media selection and forces you to use certain media sizes from fixed trays for certain prints (4x6 for photos and A4 for all others). It also limits the type of modes that you print in with no option for B/W
If you install the HP e-print app you will have more flexability in terms of media, tray selection and print modes.

It's usually in the Print dialog when you File > Print. Select the Show details button, the change the option in the horizontal line to Paper Type/Quality. Click the Color Options triangle and change Color to Greyscale.

Welcome to the HP Support forums. I understand that you would like to print black and white from your iPad to your Photosmart 5510 printer.
AirPrint doesn't support many print settings, such as grayscale and black only but don't worry there is a way it can be accomplished. If you download the HP ePrint Mobile app to your iPad one of your print settings allows you to choose between color and grayscale and if the printer supports it, black only. I have included a screen shot from my iPad of the HP ePrint app that shows the setting. The printer I had chosen (I don't have any of the Photosmart 5510 series printers) had the option of black only. I've also included the HP ePrint Mobile App FAQ document for your reference.

Png within my document when converted to a pdf are printing black and white rest is color-help! WHY?

I am creating a document in Publisher & converting to a pdf. Most of my png elements within the document, are then printing black and white from the pdf (everything else is in color)? Don't know what is going on, doesn't seem to happen on all printers, is there a setting I am missing? Help! Thanks

Could be a setting in the PNGs when they are saved.
Have you tried saving them as GIFs and replacing them in the document(s)?

Check the printer itself. Some printers you need to set the color & B&W settings on the printer itself instead of the Mac. If that is not the case w/your printer, contact HP tech support and/or post in their forums if they have one.

how can I adjust my settings to ensure that I print black and white only when I print direct from the USB ?
The multifunction centre is not currently synced or set up on any of my PC's and have no option to adjust via PC settings, only adjustement can be made using the multifunction centre touch screen.

I read your post, which indicates that you want to set the printer to print to black and white for a USB connection, but the printer isn't setup on a computer at this time. You want to set it on the printer. I can help you with this.
The only settings that you can set from the printer are for the copy settings.
You would have to set the black and white settings from the print driver when it is installed on the computer.
From the printer properties, click on the Color tab and select grayscale.
Please clarify if you mean a USB flashdrive.

How can I print black and white

I would like the option of printing in black and white from my iPad. Does anyone know if this is possible? Just hooked up Epson XP -600 AirPlay wi fi printer.
Does this require an app? Prints fine in color.

If you print a B&W image, some printers will still use color ink in the process.
There is no way to tweak print settings on the iPad or iPhone. Apple designed it to automatically apply default settings to any print jobs.
I recommend looking at an app like Printopia. This acts as an inexpensive "print server" for your iPad which allows you to configure advanced settings from the computer, such as custom paper sizes and color options.

I was using ePrint however that is auto-directing me to HPConnected and I no longer have the option to change the printing options to Black and White or Color. This is a recent change for me.

I would like the option of printing my emails and amazon reciepts in black and white. I have the HP Photosmart E-aio D110a printer. I am trying to print in black and white from my ipad2.
I consulted with Apple Support as well as HP support today. HP seems to think there is a program/app in the Apps store for printing in black and white.
Any idea's would be appreciated.

Both the drivers
Canon SELPHY CP series Printer Driver 6.2 for Mac OS X 10.8 and the Apple Canon drivers
may be needed together. Not sure which will have to be installed before the other. As for your iPhone, you'll have to enquire on the iPhone forum how to make it work.
