  • Recurring Printing Problem with HP Office Jet Pro L7590 w/Windows XP operating system

This printer is a real workhorse but frequently, when printing large documents from the internet, the type changes from regular print to total giberish -something similar to a Russian Script. It does this midsteam into the document and there is no error message or any indicatin that something is wrong. It is also hit or miss-sometime I get the entire document in English and sometimes I don't. Unfortunately, I'm wasting a ton of paper and time to redo everything when it occurs.
Other than the above, it works fine. Any suggestions on how to correct?

So the printer will begin to print garbled text in the middle of large document print jobs, from time to time?  Is this correct?
How is the L7590 connected to the WinXP PC? (USB, ethernet, wireless)
How long is the USB cable if connected this way?
How far away from the router is the printer if connected wirelessly?
If usb connected, how old is the USB cable?
It is possible that this problem is coming from a connection problem.  If a minor connection issue exists, then it can leave portions of the print language being sent as commands to the printer out.  This can change the printer's interpretation of the printer command language.

  • I just replace my modume and am trying to print on my HP office jet pro printer which I share with a PC computer. It worked before but I can not get it to print. My MacBook says it is connected to the printer, but then it says it is idle. What should I do?

We just had our modume replace and I am now trying to print on my HP Office Jet Pro

    Hello mariamac80,
It sounds like you cannot print from your network printer on your MacBook. Printer issues can be a but tough to nail down, but I would recommend trying the troubleshooting in this article named:
Troubleshooting printer issues in OS X
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3147
Follow these steps until the issue is addressed:
Make sure that the printer is powered on, has ink / toner, and that there are no alerts on the printer’s control panel. Note: If you cannot clear an alert on the printer's control panel, stop here and check the printer's documentation or contact the manufacturer for support.
Ensure the printer is properly connected to a USB port on the Mac or AirPort base station / Time Capsule. If the printer is a network-capable printer, make sure that it is properly connected to your home network.
Use Software Update to find and install the latest available updates. If an update is installed, see if the issue persists.
Open the Print & Scan pane or Print & Fax (Snow Leopard) pane in System Preferences.
Delete the affected printer, then add the printer again.
If the issue persists, try these additional steps:
Reset the printing system, then add the printer again.
If the issue still persists, reset the printing system again.  Download and install your printer's drivers. Then, add the printer again.
Contact the printer vendor or visit their website for further assistance.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • How to Scan using your HP Office Jet Pro 8600

Well, I figured out my own answer because I couldn't find a "solved" topic in this regard. So then I decided to post my findings in order to help the next querier (is that a word = one who queries). FYI -  I am not a 'techie' and while I can find my way around a computer it sometimes takes a while.  Also, I have Windows 7 on this laptop if that makes a difference.
    1. Go to Control Panel and choose:
    2. Hardware and Sound, then
    3. Devices & Printers, then
    4. Fax-HP Office Jet Pro 8600 (Network) or whatever printer choice pertains to your situation, then
    5. HP Printer Assistant, then
    6. Scanner Actions, then
    7. Scan a document or photo, then
    8. Save as PDF
    9. Scan
    10. Save to folder you choose
I know this may seem simplistic to most of you but maybe someone like me is out there trying to find this out and this might help.

    Hi Acupuncture,
Thank you very much for posting your solution that you found yourself, on using the scan function on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600. I also apologize we were not fast enough to answer one of your inquiries on the HP Support Forums. I was able to check your user page but was unable to find your initial post on asking us How to Scan, did you delete the question? Either way I am glad you are now up and scanning from your OJ 8600.
For future reference I would like you to take a look here: How to Scan: Windows 7, here you will be given all options and shortcuts on scanning with or without the HP software as well as some cool features, like scanning from the front panel of your 8600 and adding multiple pages to a single file.
Again I appreciate you taking the time to help the other Community members, so Thank you again!!

  • Can I use AirPrint on my ipad2 with an office jet pro 8000 wireless?

I am currently using hp Eprint home and biz but can't print from pages
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi Unkljoey,
Are you referring to web pages inside the HP Home & Biz app, or are you referring to the actual app Pages?
Currently the Office Jet Pro 8000 Wireless does not support AirPrint or ePrint. The only way to print from the internet or selected saved files is to use the HP Home & Biz app. Here is a list of ePrint and AirPrint compatible printers.
In order to print web pages with the app it is required that you register the app itself with your eprincenter.com account. You can do this by selecting ePrint in the top right corner on the app, and then choose register with ePrint.
If I have solved your issue, please feel free to provide kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided!

  • Is i mac OS 10.5.8 compatible with hp office jet pro 8615e printer

can an imac osx 10.5.8 be compatible with an hpofficejet pro 8615 e printer?

    Hi @dennisbriggs
I understand you have 10.5 and are trying to use the HP Officejet 8615 . The only suggestion I can make will not likely be ideal, but you could email anything you want to print from the computer to the printer.
Each HP ePrint-enabled printer, such as the 8615 , has its own unique email address. After you enable HP ePrint on your HP ePrint-enabled printer, you can print from your mobile or network-connected device by sending an email to your HP printer's email address. With HP ePrint, you can print from anywhere, at any time. If you can send an email, you can use HP ePrint.
This blurb, and more information, can be found in the following HP Document, ePrint Product Specifications.
As mentioned. This is likely not ideal, it really depends on how much printing you plan to do. If this is practical for you as a work around then mission accomplished, we found a solution, if not....  The only other options would be to consider taking the printer back and getting a different model that is compatible with 10.5, or upgrading the OS if that Mac can allow for an upgrade to 10.6
I know you'd rather not upgrade, but you might consider treating yourself, there are some nice new shiney Macs available.
What ever you decide, if you would like additional assistance, feel free to post back as I am happy to help.
I hope my recommendations resolve your inquiry.

  • Printing with HP Office Jet Pro 7700

It worked with 10.4.x, but with Leopard it now works only when you reset
the print queue again and again. It finally will print, but it's a real
    hassle.

There seem to be serious issues with printing to HP officejet printers under Leopard.. I just upgraded my mom's macbook pro to Leopard from Tiger, and now printing to her OfficeJet 6310 doesn't print any text, just images..

  • ADF scanning with HP Office jet pro 8600

Have a new machine. I can scan documents individually on the scanner glass no problem, and when I feed documents through the ADF it all feeds through ok and says "scan successful" however what I have scanned through the ADF always shows as a blank document.  I have checked and double checked I am scanning the documents the right way up and even did it the opposite way just to be sure) and made sure I dont have anything on the glass blocking the scan.  I have changed between text and photo settings.  What am I doing wrong or is there something wrong with the scanner or the ADF?? Its like the document is not being fed through past the glass (I assume thats how it works??) however the machine doesnt make any funny noices or otherwise lets me know anything is wrong.  I get no error messages.  This is only with the ADF.

If the document is coming in blank, one of the reasons for that could be that the ADF is dirty and it is not able to read the document. That would be the first thing that you would want to do when troubleshooting any kind of scan quality issue. The flatbed scanner and the ADF use different components to scan. That document is very relevant to this issue. Solution 5 is servicing the printer...which means that the ADF hardware has probably gone bad and it needs to be replaced. If you were to call into phone support, everything in that document would have to be completed before the printer could be replaced regardless. If it does come down to that, then you are saving yourself time by not having to do it later when you call into support.
However, I do have another step that can tried before reaching that conclusion. If after trying that you are still having issues, then I would recommend that we try a semi-full reset on the printer. If that doesn't fix it, then it is a hardware issue. Try the steps in that document and report back to me and let me know if they work or not. If they do not, I will send you a private message through the forums with the steps on how to perform a semi-full reset.
    Best of luck,
    Kyle

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
Congratulations on your new HP Printer!
You need to do the following steps:
install your printer on your home network (printer front panel) and / or install the Full Feature Software for the Printer (which does get the printer onto the network).
follow the basic instructions to set up ePrint and print your Claim sheet (web services) - paper should have come with your printer or you can make the printer print a new paper with the information
set up an HP Connected account so you can talk to your printer's ePrint email address settings (and make changes to your ePrint setttings)
set up "an App for that" on your iPad so it can send jobs to the printer
It sounds harder than it is.  Smiling.
