How to print chinese web page with netscape browserver in Solaris 9 OS ?

Dear All,
I would like to print chinese web page within netscape browser in Solaris 9 Traditional Chinese OS, the print out result is garbage code on the paper not correctly chinese fonts.
I can print out correctly the chinese document create by StarSuite 7.0 on Solaris 9 OS environment and also the chinese web page is correctly display within Netscape browser but for printing is abnomal result.
Can someone point me to how to do print chinese web page with browser in Solaris 9 environment ?

Whenever I print a web page with something in the background other than white it's missing in the PDF file. This happens in my daily-use browser (Seamonkey), but also in Safari. Another neat trick I found is that you can save the different settings. Just go to the "presets" part of the print menu, then save the current setting. For example by naming it "PDF printing with background".
Then turn off the background colour/image/pattern and save it as a new preset (e.g. "Print (to paper)").
That way you don't need to waste lots of ink, but at the same time you'll get the complete web-page with background and all when you save it as a PDF file. Just remember to select the right preset before you "print".

How to fix extremely slow printing from web pages with latest updates (iMac) & HP Office jet printer. (It was not a problem with earlier versions of Firefox & same computer & printer.)

The latest two updates of Mozilla Firefox are not useful for me because of extremely slow printing of web pages. It was never a problem before. Same iMac and HP officejet printer. How can I either fix it, or revert to an earlier version of the browser (without losing all my bookmarks) which didn't cause this problem?

Try scanning from your Mac. Use Image Capture app in your Applications folder.
Click once on the scanner on the left side, then click on Show Details along the bottom. Along the right side you will see LOTS of options for scanning and saving.

How to print any web page to PDF in Windows 7 after Firefox version 8?

Some web pages do not print to PDF after Firefox Version 8. The result is either incomplete PDF or the print progress stops at some point and Firefox is stuck. For example the following web page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abraham_Lincoln prints to PDF with Firefox Version 8, but it does not print with any version of Firefox newer than 8. Note that the latest version of Acrobat Professional produced the same results as well as other PDF generating tools such as "FreePDF XP" and "Bullzip". Also the same web page on this same machine does print from within Internet Explorer. However using Internet Explorer is not a solution for our needs.

This thread is quite old but there is a new answer that might better suite your needs... So, for those who are looking for the answer, have a look at WebPager plugin for LabVIEW here: https://labicom.net/labdeveloper/WebPager/ . It will make much better job (in most cases) than Remote Panels and Web Services suggested above. The only difficulty I see in your request is a 'camera' word. With WebPager you'll be able to control it from the browser (without any plugins or similar things), but the video image itself will pose problems... Still, it can be tackled.

How to install Apache Web Server with PHP on Sun Solaris Sparc machine

Hi,
We are trying to install the Apache Web Server and the PHP package on a Sun Solaris Sparc machine running on SunOS 5.8. We are having compilation problems with the source code of both these packages.
Does anybody know if there are ready solaris packages for Apache and PHP available from where we can download and install instead of source code compilation?
Or any instructions / things to watch for when installing Apache with PHP (if anybody has tried installing Apache with PHP on Sun Solaris earlier) is most welcome.

Apache should be bundled along with Solaris check in "/var/apache" in Solaris 8 and Solaris 9
php is available at www.php.net

If you want to use PHP with MySQL then you must install MySQL first.
Before we Begin
1. These instructions assume that you have Apache installed according to instructions.
Getting PHP
1. You must be logged in as root to perform this installation.
su root
2. I save all my downloads in:
/usr/local/dist
If you don't already have one, you may need to create that directory now:
mkdir /usr/local/dist
3. You can get PHP 3.0.14 from here(www.php.net).
cd /usr/local/dist

Installing PHP
1. We will install PHP in /usr/local/build, but use a tricky tar command
to do it in on hit from the download directory:
cd /usr/local/dist

Compiling PHP
1. First let's get where the action is:
cd /usr/local/build/php-3.0.14
2. You now have 3 options:
* Simple PHP install without MySQL - goto step 3
* Simple PHP install with MySQL - goto step 4
* Custom PHP install - goto step 5
3. Simple PHP install without MySQL. Next, jump to step 6.
./configure --with-apache=../apache_1.3.12
4. Simple PHP install with MySQL. MySQL must be installed before you can configure PHP to use it. I recommend that MySQL should always be reachable with /usr/local/mysql. Even if you install it else where you
should create a symbolic link from /usr/local/mysql. Otherwise the compiler can have problems finding the mysqlclient library. The command
should look like this:
./configure with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql with-apache=../apache_1.3.12
Next, jump to step 6.
5. Custom PHP install. Take a look at the available configuration directives by using this command:
./configure --help
6. Now we can make the PHP executable. This may take a while.
make
7. Now we install the PHP module with:
make install
Adding the PHP Module to Apache
1. Now we have to setup Apache to include the PHP module:
cd ../apache_1.3.12
2. Re-configure Apache to use the PHP module. You should use your previous Apache configure command along with the PHP activate module directive.
You can see your previous Apache configure command by doing:
cat config.status
You can configure Apache using the previous command with the added PHP module by doing:
./config.status --activate-module=src/modules/php3/libphp3.a
If you used the simple Apache install from instructions the command will look like this:
./configure prefix=/usr/local/apache activate-module=src/modules/php3/libphp3.a
3. Make and install Apache with PHP enabled:
make
4. We need to stop the server before installing the files:
/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl stop
5. Now we can install the new binaries:
make install
6. Start apache again (now running the new php enabled version):
/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start
Setting Up PHP
1. We have to tell Apache to pass certain file extensions to PHP. We do this in Apache's httpd.conf file.
cd /usr/local/apache/conf
2. Edit the httpd.conf file. If you do a search for php you will find a couple of commented out lines telling Apache to use the PHP module. You should uncomment them to look like this.
AddType application/x-httpd-php3 .php3
AddType application/x-httpd-php3-source .phps
3. I prefer to use the extension .phtml, you can use whatever extension you like (even .html) by adding lines to httpd.conf like this:
AddType application/x-httpd-php3 .phtml
Check that it Works
1. We have to restart Apache to make these changes take effect on the running server.
cd /usr/local/apache/bin
./apachectl restart
2. Apache should now be running with PHP enabled. The server version should include PHP/3.0b2.

3. Now it is time to test PHP with a page. The simplest thing to do is create a page called test.php3. My file is here. This file contains the

I only get a blank page when trying to print a web page

I have looked up how to print a web page and did exactly as shown on the screen (I did select my printer) but when I want to print a Web page I only get a blank page. I also cannot save as PDF in the Print Dialog Box because I get a blank page there too.
I have tried to disable all my add-ons and extensions and re-enabling them one by one and it did not change anything.
Although I did not specifically notice the exact date, I feel this has been happening since I have upgraded to Mac OS 10.6.4

Wow! After several different attempts to solve my printing problems , the one that worked was the suggestion that I hit "Reset Firefox" button on the Troubleshooting Information page. Once I did that and got back in I was able to print pages correctly. Thank you for all your help and patience.

How do I fetch web page with as short PL/SQL code as possible. I don't want to send headers, read requests, just download it at once. Are there alternatives to UTL_HTTP.REQUEST which hangs on my system? Can I use one of the XDB packages to do that?

How can I print a web page to a hard copy with Adobe? When I print this particular page in the usual way it prints only the text of that page, not the photo that's also part of that page.

I have Adobe SendNow, but I can buy another Adobe product if it will solve my web page printing problem.

I'm having difficulty printing web pages with my HP psc 2175 printer. The printer spits out many pages before the actual page I want printed and then at times it doesn't print all of the section desired.
In fact, when I copied one page the other day, saved it as a pdf file to my computer, opened the file and the document still would not print.
Anyone have any idea what could be happening?

I have a strange issue - I am also using HP Envy 100 410A and its prints fine from iPad2. But when I try to print from my Gen 1 iPad, it goes thru the motions (shows the printer, allows to select which pages to print, double sided print etc.) but the printing actually doesn't hapen.

In mail when I try to print it just says can,t find air printers. It used to say print with print n share.

I sent e-mail to developer regarding this and they said that basically Apple has denied them access to the Airprint dialog in the new source code for iOS 5. So, the only way to print to pdf is to capture the e-mail or webpage in the internal apps within Print n Share. INHO, this really *****. Apple should make printing to pdf files just a standard feature of all their apps. If they don't do this, they are going to lose alot of business to the Adroid world as pdf file format is the business standard for all documents.

My printer will not print the web pages using firefox...how do I set it up to print a web page?

I have an hp photosmart c4180 printer and it will not print the web pages in firefox...how exactly do I set up FF so I can print web pages? I will need step by step instruction also on exactly where to go to set it up.

Open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock), then open Print & Scan
Click the + button at the bottom of the printer list
If your printer appears....not all printers are supported....click on the name to highlight it
Click the Add button to install the printer at the AirPort Express location
Try to print. You must choose the correct printer at the AirPort Express location since the printer is "installed" at other locations on your network.
If you open Print & Scan again, and select the printer at the AirPort Express, there is an option to make the printer the "default" location, so you do not have to choose which location to select when you want to print.

Printing a web page results in several pages when it should only be one page. How to adjust?

When I try to print a web page, the result is several partial pages. I've tried to adjust the scaling, but nothing seems to work. Where do I go to make this type of adjustment?

Three possible causes. 
1. The page is made with Frames and each Frame is printing separately. If you right click the page you would see a menu item for '''This Frame ''', if that page has Frames. You'll see that on this test page. http://www.draac.com/framestest.html
2. A wide page margin setting. You might be able to see that in Page Setup > Margins/Header&Footer, but some printers manage to get weird settings that don't show up there. When you look in about:config these prefs are way off print.printer_''printer-name''_Printer.print_margin_left and print.printer_''printer-name''_Printer.print_margin_right
3. A non-standard '''Paper Size''' is set in Properties for that printer as viewed through Firefox. Might set to Custom or to a Photo size.
