How to print contact sheet of event ?

Is there anyway to print a contact sheet of one particular event so one could edit the order and selection on paper first ?

Select the photos you want to print and click on the Print button. In the next window click on Customize button. In the next window click on the Themes button and select Contact Sheet from the menu. You can select now many columns of photos you want per page which will affect the size of the thumbnails printed. The Setting button will take to you the pane where you can select what information about the photo is to be included.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • How on Earth do you Print Contact Sheet in Landscape Orientation in the new iPhoto?

Just upgraded to Maverick and new iPhoto and boy am I sorry.  In the last version of of iPhoto it was really difficult to print 4 to a page contact sheets from iPhoto in landscape mode.  Why would you want to print in any othe mode when most photos are taken in landscape?
Pleae help as I have to print these photos ASAP for a client.

First set the page size to letter- borderless. Next after selecting the Contact theme click on the Print Settings button and reset the page size to 11 wide and 8.5 high.
Finally set the columns to 2 which will give you this:
To test it without having to print each time use the PDF ➙ Save as PDF menu option.  If all looks good you can print from the PDF file.
There's no provision for adding a title at the top of the page.  However, create a TextEdit, Word, Pages, etc., document, put the title at the top and print over the printed contact sheet.

  • Printing Contact Sheets

    Hello
I am trying to print a 4.5 x 5.75 contact sheet of 8 images, which I have saved as a preset. I have printed this many times in the past but this time I am getting a error message (which appears in the print dialog box too quickly for me to read.)
Anyways it seems to be isolated to printing contact sheets. If I try to print a single image from Aperture there is no problem. I have tried rebuilding my Aperture library, tried rebooting, but don't know what else to try?
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks for the help.

    Miklos:
One poster pointed out that you could create a book using the Year Book theme. There you can select to have anywhere from 1 to 32 images per page and include the file names underneath the photos if desired. Then print the book to PDF and then print each page to hardcopy. Don't know if that will reduce your overall assembly time but you will be able to have the file names or titles printed also.
Another way is to create an html gallery, display in Safari and then print. Here's how:
    Creating Contact Sheet with Titles
1 - Put the files you want to print in an album and arrange in the order you'd like.
2 - Go to the File->Export->Web Page menu option.
3 - While in the Web page window, select the number of thumbnails you'd like across each page (iPhoto will keep you informed on how many pages it will take).
4 - Click on Show Title under thumbnails and click on Export. Then select the location where you'd like the resulting files to be saved (create a temporary folder to contain them).
5 - Once saved, go the folder and open the index.html file with your browser. You will get a page with your thumbnails and titles beneath them.
6 - Print that browser page and you've got your contact sheet with file names (or comments if desired).
If you want more control over the thumbnail gallery, try using BetterHTMLExport or Galerie
    Good luck.

  • Can I print contact sheets from Iphoto or aperture with file names?

I can not figure out nor am I sure it can be done with these programs but if someone out there can tell me how I would be very happy. I have several jobs I need contacts on I have been printing contact sheets and then handwriting the file numbers. To old fashion for me. HELP

    1. In the browser pane in Aperture, select the images you need.
    2. File>Print...
    3. On the left-hand side of the print dialog, click on 'Sample Contact Sheet Preset'.
    4. In the layout options there is a drop-down menu for which metadata set you want to show below the images. You may get away with using 'Name Only' which gives you the current Version Name, otherwise you may have to make a new metadata set* containing just the filename.

  • Printing contact sheet from iPhoto

How can I print a contact sheet from iPhoto that retains the order of photos in my album?
I've placed the photos of which I want to make a contact sheet in their own album.  I've organized them according to how I'd like them to print.  However, when I go to print/contact sheet/custom to set the number of images per page and hit the print button, the photos are reorganized according the the main photo folder into which the images were originally imported - that is to say, by date order.

My printer does support landscape and portrait printing. It is the latest version of iPhoto 9.5.3 that only offers a minimal choice of printer, paper size and paper type. There are no formatting options available other than "Fit, Fill, Custom, 20x25cm, 13x18cm, 10x15cm and contact sheet". Another example of Appple degrading software to make it iOS compatible!
Perhaps Apple should be reading what their customers are complaining about and do something to restore the quality of their downgraded software.

  • Printing Contact Sheets in Elements 5.0

When printing contact sheets is it possible to also print file #'s or a number of my choosing under the pictures? I've been able to do this with previous versions but can't seem to find it in version 5. Thanks for any help...

Having chosen Contact Sheet as the Type of Print, you can choose to print File name.
Whether the file name contains a number useful for this purpose probably depends on your workflow.
Personally, I would not consider another choice - Caption - useful for this purpose because the caption is a permanent part of the photo file and does not seem applicable for a specific contact sheet. Yet there are some cases where it might work.

  • Can't print contact sheets on Epson R1800 with LR3

I upgraded to Lightroom 3 a few months ago and can't print contact sheets on 13x16" sheets using my Epson R1800 (it worked fine before in Lightroom 2).
I have this problem on both an iMac and Macbook Pro, both running the latest version of Snow Leopard.
I've tried re-installing the drivers, open the program in 32 bit mode and no joy.
I can use the Print Module no problem and can print 4x6 single prints or even do a 2x2 contact sheet on a 4x6. I can also print a 7x7 contact sheet on a 13x19" sheet using draft mode, but if I try to use profiles (the images are way too dark in draft mode), LR will spend a few minutes rendering the images, while this is happening the job appears in the Epson utility, but once LR has finished rendering, the progress bar disappears along with the job in the Epson utility and nothing happens?
    Anybody experience something similar?
    Thanks in advance for replying.
    John

Print Drivers on OS X aren't the same as on Windows...
You can't use an Epson driver made for USB-only Epson printers, because they wrote the driver to only work via USB. To use the CUPS Windows printer protocol, you need a driver written to use CUPS. The Gutenprint drivers Apple included in OS X are CUPS drivers. An update is here:
    http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php
If your specific model isn't yet supported, try other model drivers.

  • Unable to print Contact Sheets from iPhoto

    Hi there,
Since installing Lion 10.7.5 on my Mac Pro I no longer get the option to print Contact Sheets from iPhoto. I'm running quite an old version of it I think (Version 6.0.6), however this was no problem before the upgrade.
Can anyone suggest a solution for this?
    Thanks in advance.

I just fired up my iPhoto 6.0.6 under Mt. Lion and I have no contact option in that version either.  You'll have to upgrade to at least iPhoto 7 (08) in order to get contact sheets back.  So you might as well upgrade to the latest iPhoto from the App Store.
If you also want the latest versions of iWeb and iDVD (which have been discontinued by Apple) you'll have to purchase a copy of the iLife 11 disc from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com: iLife 11.

  • Cannot print contact sheet

I have not been able to find anything about this problem with a search.
I cannot print a contact sheet with iphoto 4.0.3. When ever I try to print, the print will start to print the top line and then stop after 2 passes and freeze.
I used to be able to print contact sheets .... but have not printed one for about a year now.
I want to back up photos with a contact sheet to go with the disk.

Trashing the iPhoto preferences file (com.apple.iPhoto.plist) is a place to start, but I suspect since the printer starts the job and doesn't finish it, you likely have some corruption in your photo library database.
If the first suggestion doesn't resolve the issue, start iPhoto while holding the option+shift keys and hold the keys until your prompted to confirm your intention to rebuild. Click "Yes", then click "Save".
If the rebuild is successful and you're happy with it, trash the original iPhoto Library folder to free-up disk space.

  • I've added caption information to my files, but not all the information prints when I try to print contact sheets.  Please advise.

I've added caption information to my files and when I go to print contact sheets, not all of the caption information will print.  Is there some limit on information for captions?  I've added several lines of information.  Thanks for your assistance.
    Regards,

    HI Leonie,
Thanks for the input.  I checked it out and you are correct in that only 3 lines of information can be printed.  I've adjusted my information for 3 line s and it works.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Continuously print contact sheet when full (tethered capture)

    Hi!
I am going to use lightroom and tethered capture as a photo booth at an event. But I wondered if it is possible to set up a mode that would continuesly print out new contact sheets when it was filled up with photos from the filmstrip?

    In the customize window when you click the settings icon ther is a pull down menu in teh resulting screen that lets you select multiple photos pre page and multiples of a photo{quote}
Oh, how I do so wish that were the case, but when I click "Customize" and then get to the subsequent screen containing the "Settings" button, and then click said "Settings" button, I get, as previously stated, nothing but a dropdown that allows me to changes settings only for the text that one can select to accompany one's image, as shown in the screen capture found here:

  • Printing Contact Sheet on a black background

    Hello,
I would like to print a contact sheet on a black background.
    Is it possible?
I have various type of photo 6x6 3x2 but also 4x3 or 1x3 and the space between these photo on the contact sheet is white... and not black as I think it should be to magnify the result of printing a contact sheet...
    Thanks

Many thanks, but I have diferrent photo format (2x3, 4x3,1x1,1x3) so I still have white layout.
If I could filter my collection by photo format it could be great and I could print a contact sheet with a thick black border to make it look like a real contact sheet... but I do not find how to organize my photo by format (only possible to classify them by Portrait or Landscape mode).
Anyway, the print layout is a missing feature in LR (you have it in Bridge CS).
    Bye.

  • Customizing iPhoto print contact sheet

Using the new version of Photo and cannot figure out how to manually sort pictures on the "contact sheet" option for printing. The older version allowed for dragging and moving images to customize the order.   I'm not trying to change the size of the images but need the capability to change the order of appearance on the contact sheet. Any suggestions?

Print the photos from an album you create for printing, and arrange the photos in the album before printing. The contact sheet will have the sort order in the album.
To sort an album manually by dragging use the View menu:
