How to print/download scorecard,strategic tree,objectives in OBIEE 11g?.

Hi All,
Has anyone worked in Scorecards in obiee11g.If yes could you please let me know if is there any way to downloading/printing scorecards,objectives,strategic tree etc?..
We are in OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0 version.

Hi Dpka,
I don't see anything like page options button to the left of ? icon.Could you help me in locating that?.Page options is available only to the dashboards but not for scorecard..

Adding Scorecard to Briefing Book in OBIEE 11G

Hello
Can we add a scorecard to a briefing book in obiee 11g? I tried adding strategy tree and KPI watchlist. I cannot edit it once it is added to briefing book.If I try to open it in pdf I can only see KPI watchlist. This is the error I am getting when I am trying to edit it
Sax parser returned an exception.
Message: Expected an attribute value, Entity publicId: , Entity systemId: , Line number: 3, Column number: 53
Can someone help me regarding this.

How to export users and their roles/responsibilities from OBIEE 11g weblogic console ? (we have nearly 8000 users)

Hi Gurus,
I am not an expert in the OBIEE 11g security area, we have an urgent requirement where in i need to obtain the complete list of all users along with their roles/responsibilities.Ours is a big organization and there are nearly 8000 users. Please advice if i need to write any weblogic script (WLST) or is there any other simple way for this..

If it is through Presentation Layer,Below the steps you can follow:-
1. Open the OBIEE 11G RPD (offline/online) in Administration Tool
2. Select the ALL/required presentation objects form your Presentation Layer and right-click.
3. On the context menu select “Permission Report”
4 .The Permission Report dialog displays the name and a description of the selected presentation object,
along with a list of users/application roles and their permissions. CLick the Save button to save the permissions in CSV format.
5.Once you saved to a CSV format, you can use that report for the quick auditing of security management.

How to print the properties in an object

I have the following method that is meant to print all the details in a hashmap (allStudents). this hashmap contains references to objects of different students.
what i need is to be able to print each object stored in allStudents, and each of those objects properties....

How to print the values of type Object?

I am not able to print values of the following can anyone telme where i am wrong and what i can do in this regard.
Object one = request.getAttribute("values");
When i try to print these values as following
System.out.println("one ="+one);
am not getting the values in a different format something like [Ljava.lang.String;@1234f. I tried to convert the following Object to String still its not working. Can some one please suggest me what i can do in this regard.

How to print out contents of an object

Hello, I am having a problem printing out the contents of an object I have created.
ListReturn test = new ListReturn("ADMNTEST", "JUL", "2002", con);
System.out.println(test);I see this:
com.home.tools.reporting.ListReturn@6cd7d5
But my "test" varible should be populated with a collection. How can I print out my object????

One of the methods in your Object should be public String toString().
In this method, iterate over the collection in your object and print out the bits of readable data you think would be useful to display and append it to the end of a String that you return.

How Can i hard code variable at reports in obiee 11g

I created as variable at rpd and using variable i am able to get expected results.
But i dont want to use variable directly , how can i hard code variable code at report and get same results.

Not clear what you trying to achieve, try to go thru given info.
The statement 'select 1 from dual' in init blocks works using connection pool, but the same will not work in report since report understands Presentation Catalog objects.
In the report your query suppose to be like select 1 from Subject area where someColumn >0

How to hide filter view calculations in answers in obiee 11g?

I have a requirement to hide the "CASE WHEN" statements which are there in the filter view while viewing the report in Dashboard. User dont want to see the calculation part in filter view instead they just want to see the selected dashboard prompt value. For e.g
case when (column name1('column value1' IN '@{Presentation_var}' ) > 0 AND "Table name"."column name2"='column value2') or (column name1('column value1' IN '@{Presentation_var}' ) > 0 AND "Table name"."column name2"='column value2') then "table name"."column name" end
or
case when 2 statement
and
Case when 3 statement
or Case when 4 statement
therefore user wants only the bold text value(table name"."column name) to be displayed only not the calculation at front end.
I can think of Narrative view but how to do that exactly? Please help.

try this, It seemed to have worked for me..
Below was my case statement
(CASE WHEN '@{var_brand}' = 'Value1' and "Compl"."RecTypeId" IN (5,8,9) THEN 1
WHEN '@{var_brand}' = 'Value2' and "Compl"."RecTypeId" IN (11,12,13) THEN 1
ELSE 0 END)=1
I used it as a column in my analysis with the following formula
(CASE WHEN '@{var_brand}' = 'Value1' and "Compl"."RecTypeId" IN (5,8,9) THEN 1
WHEN '@{var_brand}' = 'Value2' and "Compl"."RecTypeId" IN (11,12,13) THEN 1
ELSE 0 END)
and I made a change to the name of the column in the analysis using custom column headings and put it as "Brand"
and now put a filter on this column and filtered it for for the value 1
and my filters view now shows the column Name "Brand" instead of the Case Statement..

How do I do the BETWEEN Operator functionality in Physical layer if my requirements is like this?

Below is an example diagram, as you can see, FACT TABLE have a join (an arrow one) towards TABLE_1 and TABLE_3. AS for the TABLE_3, this table is the one which I implement with the BETWEEN Operators function in Physical Layer. Also, the arrow in FACT TABLE and TABLE_3 is a red one with no arrow head line.

How to handle Fact tables with different granularity in OBIEE 11g RPD

Hello Everyone,
I have got stuck here and need your help.
I have two fact tables (Say F1 and F2... F1 is containing data at month-level and F2 is containing data at day level) and one Date DIMENSION TABLE. Date_Code is the PK of Date dimension table.I need to use time-series functions also.
Can anyone tell me how to model this requirement in the RPD.
Can we use a single dimension table(Here Date dimension table) with two fact table of different grainularity? What would be the best way to implement this requirement?

Let me explain the problem in more detail. I have one Date dimension(Date_Code,Month_Code,Quarter_Code,Half_Year_Code,Year_Code). Here Date_Code is the PK.
In F1---->Date (Using Month_Code key)
F2-------->Date (Using Date_Code Key)
Level based hierarchy is there starting from Year to Date.Each level has PK defined and chronological key selected.
F1 has level set to Month and F2 has level set to Day.
Now if i am using ago() function on measure of F2 (having day level data) then it's working fine but if i am using ago() function on measure of F1...I am getting an error at Presentation service: Date_code must be projected for time-series functions.
So the whole issue is with time-series functions. As per my research...I think for time series the tables in the physical model containing the time dimension cannot join to other data sources, except at the most detailed level but here i am joining with F1(using Month_Code which is not the most detailed level).
So kindly let me know how to achieve this in rpd?

Where can I download the SampleApp Deployment Package for OBIEE 11g?

The SampleAppLite package included in the 11g install references a SampleApp package that makes more use of the new features. Both the documentation and the quickstart dashboard point to this link: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/bi/business-intelligence-foundation.html but this redirects and doesn't seem to lead to the enhanced SampleApp. Can anyone tell me where to find this?

How to create a second OracleBIApplication in WebLogic for OBIEE 11g?

I want to create a second OracleBIApplication in WebLogic for OBIEE 11g. The default one is called "coreapplication". I can create a new one but it doesn't show up in Enterprise Manager. Anyone can help?

I have been trying to create a second OracleBIApplicatino in WebLogic for OBIEE 11g without success. I don't want to end up installing it twice as it is going to consume a lot of resources and also because I want to have a single WebLogic Domain. Has anyone faced the same situation?
What about deploying the "analytics" web application as a new web application with a different context-root (e.g. analytics_test)? I am also trying but I can't make it work. Anyone available to help?

How to apply filters for union all report in OBIEE 11g

Hi All
Can we apply saved filters to union reports in obiee 11g?
I am able to apply saved filters for normal reports but not for union reports.
The catalog pane is blank, when i click on result columns or each criteria.
The only option i see is to manually create the filters for each criteria, dont i have any choice to use a saved filter for union report?
Is this a bug or something i am unaware. Please guide me

Filter is created based on subject area.we can't use save filter in any other subject areas.
now we can use new filter for union reports.
