How to print filename as header/footer for lots of PDF?

I need to print a lot of PDF files that came from suppliers in order to file paper copies.   It would help immensely if I can print (whether from Preview, Adobe or even something I must buy) in such a manner that the filename always appears on the printed copy.   We're talking about a lever arch file, so going through them individually to create a new version of the PDF with the actual filename appearing in the PDF image is not really an option.
I'm a little surprised that there isn't such an option in Preview (or Adobe for that matter).
Would be much appreciated, thanks

Hi,
From what I understand of SAPScript, it's next to impossible to dynamically draw lines in the MAIN window. I guess this also applies to grey backgrounds since you'd need to define the exact position of a box.
Better use Smartforms or Adobe forms.
If you find out how to achieve this, I'm interested to know how you do this :-)
Good luck!
Best regards,
Zhou

  • How to print filename in Pages footer?

    I know this question was asked a few months ago, but not answered.
    Does anyone have any suggestions.

    Yvan, thanks so much for your rapid reply. I had not seen any earlier reply, so it's fantastic to know there's a solution to my question. I am having a problem, though, in getting the script to work.
    However, I'm not a techie, and a recent 'switcher' to Apple, so I may be doing something wrong in the way I've followed your instructions.
    I did as you advised, and had to create the folder 'Pages' in my 'Applications' folder. But when I tried to do as you said in a Pages document I could not find the 'Menu' item named 'Scripts'. Should it be visible in the top menu of 'Pages'?
    It also occurred to me that I may not have 'cut and pasted' the correct content of your script. Can you tell me where the script begins and where it ends. I 'cut' it at 'on run ....' and ended it at 'end parleAnglais'. Is this correct?

  • How do I add a header/footer to a document?

    I am using Adobe X Standard, version 10.1.2 and everything I am reading tells me to go to tools>pages>Header & Footer>Add Header & Footer, but once I click on tools to the left, the only options I have are export and create pdf files and send files. There is no tools option in the tool bar on the top. File, edit, view, window & help are my only options. How can I add a header/footer to a document?!

    I think you might be opening your Pdf document in Adobe Reader. If you try open your pdf document in Adobe Standard and check again as far as your option are concerned you should be able to do that.

    What you describe tends to indicate that you're using Reader, not Acrobat. If you do have Acrobat installed, make sure you're using it and not Reader.

  • How do I create a desktop Icon for Adobe create pdf?

    How do I create a desktop icon for Adobe create pdf?

    Hi, ken.
    You can access ExportPDF from your computer more quickly in three ways:
    You can download and install the CreatePDF Desktop Application. More info is here. With this application, you can drag PDF files onto a desktop icon and have those converted to Office files. (If you subscribe to the CreatePDF service, this application will also allow you to create PDF files.)
    You can download and install the newest Adobe Reader and access the service using Reader's Tools Pane on right. Then, any time you have PDF open in Reader, you can (with a couple of clicks) convert that PDF to an Office file.
    You can drag the webpage icon from your browser to your desktop. This will create a shortcut to the ExportPDF website on your desktop. Here are some instructions for doing that using Internet Explorer or Firefox.
    Let us know if you have additional questions or issues.

  • How do you change the header/footer color for MyPage.

    I understand that you can change the type of headers and footer for Mypage using Subportals. If I want to change the 'color' of the header for mypage, do I just have to 'create a new header using a different color' or 'edit and change the color of the existing header portlet in the Brand setting'? Does that mean that I need to create several header portlets of the same type with different colors?

    Couple of points:
    In 5.0, unlike 4.5, individuals can not change the color of their MyPage, and is determined by the Subportal assignment of the user. The MyPage color (and header) can be different for each Subportal, but users only belong to a single Subportal, and Subportals and Subportal assignments are usually only made by the Portal manager.The color can , however, be different on each Community, and that can be controlled by each Community manager.For Subportals, you need to create a new header Portlet for each color scheme.For Communities, you do nothave to create a new header Portlet: Choose an existing Portlet from the Community editor, save your changes, re-open the Community editor, and go back to the Header and Footer selection screen. You will be able to click on the selected header Portlet and change the color scheme for that one Community.

  • How do I remove the header/footer when printing from ipad safari?

    I'm trying to print invoices from a web app I'm using in safari on my ipad1. When I print there doesn't seem to be anyway not to include the header and footer that prints by default with Safari. I'd rather not have to use a second app just to print and go back and forth to the browser. Any ideas on this?
    The printing itself is no issue at all and I'm using an HP6500A plus over an airport extreme in case you need those details.

    I have been bumping up against this issue in the last few days. I have redone my output as PDF and that works OK - i.e. There are no Safari footer details on the AirPrint printed page.
    But now I find that PDF documents frequently print with white space bands across the page (chopping off some of the text). I can even replicate this when pinch zooming on my iPad with a PDF document. So I suspect a bug in the PDF processing functionality within IOS. I am running IOS 4.3 so I had better update to see if the issue goes away.

  • How do I reset margins & header/footer?

    I wanted to extend the printing margins so I could get more printout from a map. I left all the Headers & Footers options "blank" hoping this would do it. Instead I get nothing. I can't print anything online - it's all blank. How can I reset the page setup? Even the Page Setup/Margins & Header/Footer page is blank! HELP!

    I think you might be opening your Pdf document in Adobe Reader. If you try open your pdf document in Adobe Standard and check again as far as your option are concerned you should be able to do that.

  • How to print line numbers in NWDS for Java?

    Hi everyone,
    does someone know how to print out program code with line numbers from the Netweaver Developer Studio for Java? This is inevitable for code reviews.
    In Eclipse 3.4 this issue is solved. Is there possibly such a patch for NWDS as well?
    Thanks,
    Maria

    Hi Pascal,
    thanks for the quick reply. The setting you mention displays line numbers on the screen alright, but printing out does not work.
    We use: SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio for SAP NetWeaver 7.1 SP06 PAT0000, Build id: 200807051938.
    I guess it just does not work, because it was fixed only for Eclipse 3.4, and the above NWDS version bases on Eclipse 3.3.
    What do you recommend for code inspections - copy/paste into PSPad or do you know a more comfortable practice?
    Greetings

  • Acrobat X, using applescript, how do I open the 'Header & Footer'  panel

    G'day from Oz.
    We badly want to update to the CS6 suite, but using the trial version of Acrobat X, I can't find a way of opening the 'Add Header & Footer' dialog panel with applescript. We must add a barcode to pdf's, which was relatively simple using Acrobat 9.
    Anyone know a way to do this please?

  • How to hide/show main report footer for a sub report ?

    Need to hide main report footer for a sub report(having more than one page and need to hide footer for all those pages).And again make it visible for another sub report which also have more than one page (and do the same to all of its pages)
    I have tried with formula
    WhilePrintingRecords;
    Shared BooleanVar SuppressFooter := True;
    WhilePrintingRecords;
    Shared BooleanVar SuppressFooter := False;
    with this formula main report footer is shown only on last page of sub report where i need it in all pages.
    Any solution??

    Hi Jinu,
    1) Do some or all of those subreports span multiple pages?
    2) Do each of the Subreports start on a new page?
    If yes, for both, then here's what you need to do:
    1) Create a formula (@True) with this code:
    shared booleanvar SetStatus:= True
    2) Create another formula (@False) with this code:
    shared booleanvar SetStatus:= False
    Drag and drop the @True formula on the details sections for which you want the Page Footer to be suppressed.
    Similarly, drop the @False formula on the details sections for which you want the Page Footer to show up.
    Then, go to the Section Expert > Select Page Footer c > Click the formula button beside Suppress and use this code:
    shared booleanvar SetStatus;
    -Abhilash

  • IDCS4 Export to PDF (Header/Footer Screwed Up) in PDF...Possible Solution?

    THE PROBLEM (See "Evil footer setup.pdf"):
    When you convert a IDCS4 document to a PDF while using a 2-page master, the PDF may be missing the odd or even pages. The page content (silly face) is there, but the header and/or footer is screwed up on either the odd or even pages.  The even pages are mess up in this example.
    THE REASON:
    INCS4 does not like a single (header and footer) box to be dragged across both pages.  Whe you do, you get them on one page or the other. Anything in theses header/foot goes asta-la-bye bye. In "Evil footer setup.pdf" both the header and footer boxes were two separate boxes drawn on one side, then dragged across the other page.
    THE SOLUTION: (See "Happy footer setup.pdf")
    On the 2-page master, set up the even (left pages) first with all of the header and footer information (include bleeds). If your using colored boxes for the header and foot area, put them on the bottom layer and put all text and page numbers on a new layer above. In the "Happy footer setup" example, the even (left) page header is identified by light cyan and the footer is identified by light magenta. Once the left side is done, group it, dup it and move it to the odd page (right side). The header on the odd (right) pages is now dark cyan while the footer is dark magenta.  Once boths sides are set up, overlap each header and footer onto the opposite page by 1/8 of an inch to cover any gaps (seen in the happy example). This is assuming the header on both sides is the same color.
    The "Sample Master Pages.pdf" (TOP) shows a single box header and footer dragged across 2 pages. (BOTTOM) shows a single box header and footer on each individual page.  Remember the layers. Compare the sample to Happy and Evil and you'll get the idea.
    Hope this helps someone.

    This MAY be solved by the 6.0.4 update. See the release notes for item #2299929.

  • How to print grandtotal in table footer only in the last page in SMARTFORMS

    Hello Experts,
    How do I print the GRANDTOTAL in the table footer only on the LAST PAGE in SMARTFORMS.
    What I have done is in the text element of CELL1 of the table footer i wrote the folowing logic but not working.
    /: IF &SFSY-PAGE& EQ &SFSY-FORMPAGES&.
    * V_SUM.
    /: ENDIF.
    I even tried this.
    /: IF &NEXT-PAGE& EQ 0.
    * V_SUM.
    /: ENDIF.
    but still it displays the grand total on all pages at table footer.
    How do i go for this experts.
    Regards,
    Ranjith N

    HI Nambiar,
    To print the grand total only on the last page then create the secondary window --> create the text node for the grand total -->In the condition tab check only after the end of the main window.
    This grand total will be displayed after all the items and end of the main window.
    Footer in the table displays as the subtotals i.e on every page total is displayed..

  • Inserting Filename into Header/Footer

    Hi everyone,
    I'm looking for a way to enter the filename (without the file extension) into the header of my document.  From the research I've been doing it seems the only way to do this would be to write some sort of javascript, or pay for a 3rd party plug-in with a ton of features I'll never need or use.  You would think Adobe would have made this pretty simple to do, it seems I've seen a lot of people asking for it for various reasons.
    Is there a simple way to do it?  Or am I totally out of luck.  I was hoping to be able to do it for batch processing, but I think my options are limited, as it seems the only way might be to write a javascript and insert that into the batch processing process.
    Thanks.

    Yeah I'm looking for a way to do it in batch automaticaly.  I could do it manually but I have potentialy thousands of documents.
    I don't know how to write javascript so would there be an easy way of creating a script?
