  • Custom package printing - photo border not printing

LR 3 on XP Pro, Epson 2400
I've created a custom print layout with 8 cells. The 'Photo Border' is ticked at 3.0pt and this shows up on layout.
When I print the page all the photos are borderless. Print to file shows no borders either.
Any clues as to why my borders aren't showing up ?
    Thanks

    Geoff,
Thanks for reply. Are you sure you don't have 'inner stroke' ticked ? Your screenshot of Lightroom appears to show 2 borders, the white one and the dark coloured one. Your print from PS only shows the dark one.
I have an A3 page size with several cells. I have page colour of white ('Page Background Colour' unticked).
If I tick 'Photo Border' (and untick 'Inner stroke') then what I see on screen is each photo surrounded by a white border, with the border deliniated by a black line. When printing to paper or printing to file you cannot 'see' a border, because it's a white border on a white background. The black line that shows on screen doesn't print. If I overlap the photos I can clearly see a white border where one picture sits on top of another.
I am now presuming that the black line is only there to let you know there is a border you can't see and that it's not intended to print. Slightly counterintuative to me.
I suppose what I'm looking for is a frame rather than a border.
Actually now I think about it some more the black line I'm talking about is actually the bondary of the cell itself rather than anything to do with the border.

    Hi
    What are you printing from?
    Mac / Windows?
    What program?
If your on windows please check your printing preferences to ensure its set to the photo paper and the paper size
also ensure you only have the photo paper in the tray and it isnt just sitting on the top of the plain paper (you'd be suprised at how many people do this)
And that the photo paper is facing glossy side down.
    Hope this helps!

My 6500A prints photos far too dark - how do I get round this???? I can't find any OBVIOUS way of controlling this.

Same problem with the same printer here.
When I send a photo from my phone (via ePrint) the result is not as clear as I would like.
In addition to settings for brightness, I would also like to know if it's possible to change the size of the printed photo. (if you print a photo from windows you'll get a wizzard that lets you choose from different sizes)

  • Not able to print photos correctly anymore

    Hello
I have a hp officejet 5610 that I am unable to print photos correctly now.  Here are the details:
    1.  When i try to print photos from any program (photoshop, image ready, or any other windows program), it prints it like a charcoal photo. (Note:  When I scan the photo in, it is scanning beautifully).
    2.  When I place the photo on the scanner and copy it, it copies it just like a photo.  Beautiful.
    3.  Both the color and photo cartridge are brand new.  In fact, I have tries two sets of new cartridges.
    4.  Using Windows Vista
    5.  Directly connected via USB.
    6.  Have printed photos on this printer for the past  two years.  Am certain that I am selecting the correct printing preferences. (Photo printing, 1200 dpi, etc.)
    7.  I just uninstalled and reinstalled the printer software from hp.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you

It still shows one of the PDF pages on one sheet...!
Do you mean that this is the printed output or that this is what's shown in the preview window on the left? If the latter, try saving ato PDF with those settings, as a test. There was a problem that the preview window didn't update to reflect the layout settings but that the job printed correctly. Maybe this is what you are seeing?

  • Can I choose photo sizes to print in Air Print

Does anyone have tips for printing photos with Air Print from iPhone 6 or iPad mini to a Canon PIXMA printer?

I'm not sure about the Canon, but with my HP, if I go to print a photo from the phone, it defaults to the 4x6 size paper that is loaded in the paper tray (there is a separate photo tray). I am not aware of any way to change the settings for the HP, so you might not be able to from the Canon, unless you are using a specific app to print rather than just AirPrint.

  • How can i print just one page of photo book without printing the entire book

how can i print just one page of photo book without printing the entire book

    Jim,
    Take heart.  We can help.
First turn on page view so you can see how the content of your sheet fits on the page(s).  A Numbers document contains sheets (listed on the left) which in turn contain tables, charts, text, and graphics.  Select the sheet you want to print on the left, then enable page view by selecting the menu item:
    "View > Show Print View":
Now you should see your content and how it fits on one, or more, pages.  If thie content is too big for one page use the controls and the bottom left of the window to expose the sheet controls:
Here a table is too big to fit on one page:
slide the "Content Scale" slider so the content fits:

  • How do I take 300 dpi photos with my iPhone 4s? And how do I export them to my MacBook Pro at 300 dpi to use as I want to print photos.

How do I take 300 dpi photos with my iPhone 4s?
And how do I export them to my MacBook Pro at 300 dpi to use as I want to print photos.
I have been using the standard camera on the iPhone and require 300 dpi to create photo books as the photos are resized according the layout.
Your time and assistance in appreciated.
    Thanks

    Thanks Tonefox!
After looking at a few of the links I found a mathematical equation that assisted me.
    Inches = Pixels/DPI
    eg: 3 inches = 300 pixels/100 DPI
Using this equation and the fact that iPhone 4s takes photos that are 3264 x 2448 I was able to work out the largest print I could make with 300 DPI.
    Width 3264 pix/ 300 DPI = 10.88 inches
    Height 2448 pix/ 300 DPI = 8.16 inches
Therefore, the largest print (with 300DPI) I can make of these photos is 10.88 inches x 8.16 inches.
    Which is great!
So is it critical for me to change the dpi in say photoshop or does it not matter as long as I don't go above the 10.88 inches x 8.16 inches?
From what I can gather the smaller I resize the photo the higher the DPI and the bigger I stretch the photo the lower the DPI?
Further clarification will be much appreciated. Thanks

  • Printing photos from iPhoto 9.5.1 on my printer yeilds garish two color prints. Exporting the photo from iPhoto to desktop then printing from Preview works fine. How can I get good prints from iPhoto?

When printing photos in iPhoto 9.5.1 with my HP inkjet printer the multitude of colors in the photos are reduced to two, Magenta and Yellow. If the photos are exported to my desktop (MacPro) and printed from Preview, the colors in the prints are fine. How do I get iPhoto to print the colors correctly?

    Brad
What settings did you use in the Export Dialogue?
When you go File -> Export you get a tabbed box with various options. In the File Export tab you can choose to scale the pics, or keep them the same size, change or retain the format.

  • How do I print photos from my laptop to my 7510

I have had HP printers for years and every time I have to upgrade they change the way the photo printing software works. Years ago they had software where you could load 2-3 photos and from a menu decide how many wallets, 3x5, 4x6 etc....and it would squeeze the photos and sizes in to save paper.  Then that printer died so I had to upgrade to the C5280 and that would not work with the software I liked, so I had to get use to HP Photosmart Essential 3.5...Now that (C5280) printer has died and I have a Photosmart 7510. This printer did not come with a program similar to the Essential 3.5 (at least not that I have been able to find). I have tried to use the Essential 3.5 with my new printer, but it does not work the same...it is not as user friendly as I was use to. For example I print a lot of 4x6 pictures and they are always full size edge to edge (no border). Now I am getting a boarder whether I want one or not.

    Hi,
The borderless feature might be turned off in the printerssettings. I am guessing you are using windows 7, from there go to the control panel, devices and printers, Right click your printer icon and choose "printer preferences". In the new screen click on advanced in the bottum right corner. In the new screen in the list find borderless printing. Make sure it says print borderless behind it.

  • HT4356 I have just updated my Epson printer to one which supports air print but consider it to be a waste of money as my printer has two paper trays and there is option to choose which try...just "print"  How can I print photos via AirPrint from photo  tr

    Hi,
First-timer on this...Just updated my printer which was less than one year old, to one which had Air Print capabilities. This one is the Epson XP605 which has two trays, one being for photos. Each time I tried to Air Print a photo, it printed from the A4 plain paper tray instead of the Photo Tray.Twice...then I came into my study and changed the printer settings to Tray 1 (photo tray) Photo paper, size 5x7 and  Photo Best, but still it printed on plain A 4 paper. Would be most grateful for any help, although I did read on one Apple site that AirPrint may not be able to choose trays!!!! "may not"??  Thanks

I just figured out the print quality issue for my wife with her new iMac and new printer.
She replaced both at once and she couldn't understand why her Artisan 730 was lower quality then her Epson R280 when they had the same specs.
Turns out the newer printer had the option to connect via wifi which we used during setup.
The driver options are completely different depending on how you connect.
Once I connected via USB the correct options were available and the print quality was better.
Looking at the R2400 it dies not have wifi, but while researching the problem for my wife someone esle was having an issue updating to the latest printer driver.
If you go into the print utility from the Printer and Scanner system preference and under the general tab you should have driver 5.5.
One user had to delete the old printer driver before Software Update loaded the newer printer driver.

On my MacBook Pro (w Snow Leopard) I always had to reconnect my wifi at home when it woke up. I upgraded my router from an old Netgear to a newer N D-Link and stopped having to do that.
I would be surprised you would have that problem with an Airport Extreme, you might check to see if there is a firmware update for it.

  • Deskjet 6988dt, how to use photo/envelope slot for printing 4x6 photo paper?

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS.  Printer has the extra250 sheet paper tray.  Upper and lower tray work fine.  I can of course load photo paper in upper tray and print photos from there, but I was trying to load just one sheet of photo paper in the little slot since I don't want to have photo paper loaded all the time.  Since I have to use the generic Windows driver for this printer as HP doesn't have a driver update for this printer and Windows 7, the only selections I'm seeing in printer properties is "automatic, upper, lower".  I've tried all three of those settings and none take the paper from the little slot where I'm manually feeding the 4x6 photo paper.  What am I doing wrong?  Could it be that this feature just isn't enabled with the generic Windows driver?
The reference/instruction documentation that came with this printer is very sparse.  I can't find any instruction on how to use the photo/evelope slot.  In fact I'd say overall the documentation is very poor.
I just checked the HP site, still no Windows 7 64-bit driver available.
Thanks for any help or ideas.

Found a .pdf document on line for the Desjet 6980 series printers. Much more comprehensive than what came with the printer.

Follow these steps to use the photo/envelope feeder to print a single photo:
    1. Insert the photo paper into the photo/envelope feeder with the side to be printed on
    facing down.
    2. Gently push the photo paper into the photo/envelope feeder as far as it will
    comfortably go.
    3. Slide the photo/envelope feeder forward as far as it will go.
    4. Print the photo.
Problem was, although I was inserting the 4x6 photo paper into the feeder, I wasn't pushing the little plastic slide forward.
