How to print "selected objects" in InDesign CS4?

I have a large calendar in ID CS4. I want to print and view some of the text in its actual size. My printer can only print A4 documents. How can I print only selected texts and objects in its actual size in this application?
Although copying and pasting the text in another A4 sized document (IDCS4) would do it but there is no native support of "printing selection" but Microsoft's "Word' has!

I think the layer option is best.
Select what you want then open the layers panel and create a new layer. Select the objects you want to print, then in the layers panel you will see a small square to the right of the layer name. Alt Drag that to the new layer to copy the items, you can then turn off the visibility to the other layer and just print out the new layer.
Then switch the visibility of the layers around to view the original artwork.

Cell A1 is a Pop-Up Menu containing names of the various "Departments"
Other cells contain formulas to find a match for whatever is chosen in A1 from the Very Big Data Table.

How to print selection only

I saw this question on another forum and realized that I have no idea how to print 'selection only'. The only options in the file>print menu are for the pages desired. I see no way to print only the selected portion of a page. There must be a way, but I do not seem to be able to find the answer.

I tried it with 'Grab' but the printout was too large. I then discovered that if you use 'Snag It' you can accomplish the same thing. Press Shift-command-3 for the whole screen or Shift-command-4 for a part of the screen. this creates a PNG image which when opened in 'Preview' can be printed. Rather complicated, but it does work. Thanks for steering me in the right direction.

ChangeCase of Selected Style in InDesign CS4

There is a certain lowercase letters applied in a character style those alone want to be change as UPPERCASE without changing the character style in InDesign CS4 (for e.g. if a group of lowercase characters (that can be any letter) applied in a character style "smallcaps". I want to change that all lowercase characters to UPPERCASE by selecting the "smallcaps" style. Please help me out how to do it in InDesign CS4.

How to print PreparedStatment object in console

i am using PreparedStatment for inserting data into a table, in my local system it is working fine, but after deploying in JBoss(Server) it is throwing "invalid column type" error. In order to check i tried to print in the JBoss console but i am unable print in the console, kindly help me regarding this.
The code which i used is:

Your code specifically details the object types that you are setting.
Presumbly the 'sql' is just a hard coded value.
Consquently the conclusion is that the database on your local box versus the deployment is different. And nothing that you print in JBOSS will help you discover what the difference is. You need to look at the 'sql' and determine the entities from that and then compare them in the schema for both places.
check all the values that i am passing r correct r not.As noted if that isn't a security violation for your application then you are left with the following.
- Drivers do not necessarily create SQL.
- If they do AND the driver is up to date then there is a method (look for it in the javadocs) that will return it
- If not you should use a jdbc wrapper proxy that consumes the data for you. This might be better even if the driver does it.

For some reason, this mac has a hard *$$ time just printing what I want it to. I select something on the internet using command "A". Then I click command "P". The screen that gives printing specifications doesn't have a simple tab that says "print selection". How can I get this darn thing to simply print what I have selected?

Print Selection Service 1.0 (freeware on VersionTracker) will add a "Print Selection" choice to the Services menu in the Safari menu.

Do you mean you want to print out the values entered into your select option for WADAT_IST? Your question isn't very clear.
Select-options are just internal tables with a specific format:-
SIGN
OPTION
LOW
HIGH.
You should be able to debug through from your selection screen and see the values and hopefully figure out how to print them.

How to hyphenate page ranges in InDesign CS4 Index

Hello,
Does anyone know how to automatically hyphenate page ranges in an index in InDesign CS4? In other words, if I generate an index with a reference on multiple consecutive pages, it looks like this:
Entry 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
Obviously, this is much more cluttered than if it could read:
Entry 1, 4-10
I'm wondering if anyone knows whether there is an option to cause InDesign to do this automatically. I'd hate to have to go through and do it by hand.

Thanks very much, Jong, this is a helpful start. Unfortunately, it creates a new problem for the one it solved; when I run it, it will insert page numbers after the first letter of the index entry. So

becomes:

I regret that I don't know anything about scripting. Is there some way to fix this, either through InDesign settings or by adjusting Peter's script?

With GREP styles you can search text only, not formatting.

How to print selection

Hello! I am new to Mac's and I cant seem to figure out how to print a selection of text vs. printing the entire page, article, etc. Help! I've tried highlighting the desired selection and printing but that doesn't work...any help??

There is a very easy way to do what you want to do.
Highlight the portion of text you want to print.
Go to edit function and select "copy".
Go to your tool bar and select the application "text edit".
Go to edit function and select "paste",
Adjust the font size to a larger size if needed.
Go to file function and select print.
If application "text edit" does not show in your tool bar, go to the "applications" folder and you will find it there.

Hello everybody!
I'm new to Sharepoint, I just installed an entire environment to test it. I installed Windows Server 2012 R2, SQL Server 2012 and Sharepoint 2010 (my customer's version).
What I'm trying to do is have a easy way that my customer will select an item on a list and then print it. As they have a lot of list, they want to create the layout of the printing themselves. They want the company logo on the page, they also want to customize
the background of some items like color, fonts, etc.
Please, I don't want to seem like asking for the solution out of the box. I just need to know if this is possible, and how.
I've been searching and found SQL Reporting services, or even printing from Access. Is it the way to go?
Any help will be much appreciated.

export the files to excel and print from there
use the 3rd party tools to get this done. Free from Code Plex, which use the Print List.

I think its not included because, it as a technical challenge that relates to the difference between working on a nice monolithic Grid of rows and columns (easy to define a clean rectangle to print), and a series of possibly overlapping objects whose columns and rows don't line up at all.

I've just tried it with CS3. It might have been implemented in later versions.
In the print Book dialogue the page range field is disabled. You cannot enter anything there.
If you try to do it with a script it says that printPreferences is read only.
