How to properly locate and  "Uninstall Canon ij Network Scan Utility"

I had this same problem so I went thru my computer's specifics.
If you try doing a spotlight or "find" search for canon, canon lj network utility, etc. you'll only find a "Canon" folder, but it won't necessarily give you the information you're looking for.
Here's what I did:
First turn off the "canon ij network scan utility"
Then:
1. Click on Finder
2. Click the Macintosh HD icon (hard drive icon under iDisk)
3. Click the Library folder (make sure it's the folder with the picture on it, building with columns)
4. Scroll down to the "Printers" folder
5. Locate the "Canon" folder, then the "BJPrinter" folder.
6. Once you installed the "canon ij network scan utility" to your computer, various components will be scattered throughout this "BJPrinter" folder. Click on each folder, and check the "Date Modified" column. Every file within this folder that has a Date Modified similar to the date you installed the program, is a file with a relation to the "canon ij network scan utility." I suggest deleting them all.
7. If you're looking to make sure you're getting rid of the"canon ij network scan utility," after you click on Macintosh HD>>Library>>Printers>>Canon>>BJPrinter, click on the "Utilities" folder. In this folder you'll find a couple of utilities installed with the "canon ij network scan utility" program, but you'll also find the actual "canon ij network scan utility" program. I suggested dragging the utilities folder to the trash and disposing of it all. Do a "secure empty trash" if necessary. It may not empty right away since you still had it on the top right, so restart your computer then try to empty the trash when everything reboots.
Hope this helps.

Under System Preferences, System, Accounts, Login Items, I removed the Scan Utility from the list of programs that open automatically when I log in. The program no longer starts but I fear that the program is lingering some where on my computer hard drive.

  • Uninstall Canon IJ Network Scan Utility

    I recently attempted to install the Canon MX700 over a wired LAN but was unsuccessful. I was so fed up that I decided to uninstall all the software associated with Canon. I still see an icon for the Canon IJ Network Scan Utility in the upper right hand portion of my screen. How can I ensure that all the software associated with Canon is removed?
    Thanks.

  • Canon IJ Network Scanning Utility not showing up in Menu bar

    Hi, I recently performed an erase and install of my Mac. I then used Migration Assistant to restore my data. I have a Canon MP620 Wireless Printer. I noticed that the Canon IJ Network Scanning Utility is not showing up in the menu bar. How do I get it to show up again?

    When installed, the Canon IJ Network Scan Utility is located HD > Library > Printers > Canon > BJPrinters > Utilities. Double click the utility and the icon will appear on the menubar. If you want the utility to start on login, then you can add it to your Login items, located in System Preferences > Accounts.

  • Canon IJ Network Scanning Utility not working

    Hello,
    Since I upgraded my OS to Yosemite, the application "Canon IJ Network Scan Utility.app" is not working anymore.
    When I try to launch it, it first shows in the top menu bar and then disappears. It is located in Macintosh HD ▸ Library ▸ Printers ▸ Canon ▸ BJPrinter ▸ Utilities.
    I cannot use my scanner from the scanner itself any more which is not so convenient when you have a stack of document to scan...
    B.
    Tech. details:
    Yosemite version 10.10.1
    iMac (24-inch Mid 2007)
    Processor: 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory: 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
    Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB

    I have noticed the same issue you are talking about. I have found a workaround to trigger scans from the printer, but it is MUCH less convenient than it was in Mavericks.
    If you install all the latest Yosemite versions of Canon drivers and utilities from canon support site, you should have something called "Canon IJ Network Scanner Selector EX". If you run this, your printer should show as one of the options to select. Select it. There should also be a button labeled: "Scan-from-operation-panel-settings". Click that, and select your printer. If it is already selected, you may have to unselect and then re-select. At the printer, you should then see your mac in the "PC" destination selector.
    With Mavericks, I only had to set this up once, and I could then ALWAYS just go right to the printer to initiate scans. That is, it STAYED connected to my computer: as long as the computer was on, I could just go straight to the printer to start scanning. Now, it seems that the connection somehow gets broken, or the "listener program" on the Mac stops, or something, and you have to go through the above steps again to get it re-connected. It is quite annoying, and much less convenient than it was with Mavericks. I think in my case, it gets "disconnected" every time my computer goes to sleep.
    Hope that helps. If you find a way to keep it connected all the time, I'd appreciate it!

  • Canon MP600R network scan failed!

    Hi,
    I have a Canon MP600R connected to my wifi network trough the wifi interface.
    Under Leopard Printer and Scanner are working fine even the scan to Mac on the printer directly.
    Now i have upgraded my Macs to Snow Leopard (tested with 10.6 and 10.6.1 but running now 10.6.1) and i easily got the printer working over the network using the SL built-in driver (before and after the Canon driver update).
    For the scanner it's a nightmare!!!!
    Without add-on or Canon driver no way to have the scanner working even trough USB.
    If i add the ScanGear driver 12.13.1 from the Canon Web site supporting 10.6 it works trough USB but no way trough the network : impossible to add the scanner over the network!!!!!!!
    By the way trough USB when you press the Scan to Mac button on the printer you don't need anymore the MP Navigator from Canon, the scan is handle directly trough Image Capture application.
    Could someone help me to add the network scanner on my MP600R ???
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Nicolas

    Hi Nicolas. I managed to find my old MP600R in the storeroom and managed to get it scanning into 10.6.1. Here is the steps.
    Before you start you will need the MP600R Scanner Driver v12.13.1, the Canon IJ Network Tool v2.70 and MP Navigator v3.0.4 application installed on the 10.6 Mac.
    1. Click on the Canon IJ Network Scan Utility icon in the menubar. To me this looks like an art deco chair.
    2. Click on Open Settings. This will open the Canon IJ Network Scan Utility. If the MP600R is not in the list, click Register Scanner.
    3. The Canon IJ Network Scanner Selector application will now appear. Canon MP600R Network should be in the TWAIN Data Source menu and under Network Device List, you should see the MAC address for the MP600R. Click Apply. This will add the MP600R to the IJ Scan Utility list. Click Exit to close the Scanner Selector application.
    4. After closing the Scanner Selector application the Canon IJ Network Scan Utility will be displayed. Click the OK button to add the MP600R.
    5. Now you are ready to scan. However, I could not get Image Capture or Preview to locate the MP600R, which is what I use with my networked MP980. But after installing MP Navigator v3.0.4 and registering the MP600R via the Preferences menu of Navigator, I was able to scan using Navigator and push scan a document from the MP600R.
    Hope this helps you.

    If by "unpurchased" you are referring to music that you obtained from CDs or other sources, you will have to restore the music from your backup or some other device such as a smartphone or music player.

  • How do I locate and install Activity Monitor?

    I cannot find Activity Monitor on my computer.
    When and how it disappeared I do not know, but is there anyway of locating and installing a copy without a complete re-install?

    "Activity Monitor" is stored on the Utilities folder, inside the Applications folder. Before reinstalling OS X, I recommend you to search it with Spotlight.
    To search it in Spotlight, press Command and Space keys so, if you have a look at the top right of the display, Spotlight will appear. Then, type "Activity Monitor" without quotes, and check if the application appears. If it appears, it hasn't disappeared because you can use it. If it doesn't appear, you have to reinstall Mac OS X. Insert the Mac OS X disc, hold the C key while your computer is starting, and reinstall Mac OS X. You won't lose anything from your computer

  • How do I locate and delete the "other" used space on my Ipod 2 ?

    Not only did I get curious about the Autofill button and lose all of my music on my Ipod Nano 2nd Edition but now my Ipod is showing that I have 90% Other stored on it and can't figure out how to locate and delete it! I have looked all over online and nothing seems to work because mine is a different model.. :/  Someone HELP me PLEASE!

    You probably have data corruption.  You may want to do a Restore, as the simplest fix.  The Restore button is on the iPod's Summary screen in iTunes.  It will erase the iPod, reinstall its software, and set it to default settings.  All data will be erased, including whatever is taking up space as "Other."

  • How to create Locations, and ThreadReferences

    Hi there,
    I'm trying to write a personalised debugger but am having many teething problems getting started.
    What is the procedure to create break points. I see the EventRequestManager.createBreakPointRequest(Location l) method, but see no obvious way to create the required Location it needs. And similarly, in creating a step requests, with the EventRequestManager.createBreakPointRequest(ThreadReference t, ...), how do I create ThreadReferences?
    I have looked at the Trace.java demo in the examples jar supplied with the sdk, but this hasn't helped me enough.
    Also, another question. Coming from expeerienced jdi programmers what would be a good way to connect a program to the output of a debugger (a graphical execution animator)? I have thought about having Lists of certains elements particular to the debugged process, that are set by the debugger, which the external program uses. However I do not know of obvious problems that may crop up - please, if you know of any that I'm bound to fall into - could you inform me of them? Thanks mates!!
    Later no doubt!!

    I'd like to note you cann't create neither Location nor ThreadReferences, but you can get these objects from VirtualMachine. I suppose you are able to get a mirror of VirtualMachine.
    To create BreakpointRequest make, for example, the following:
         List classes = vm.classesByName(yourClassName); // vm - instance of VirtualMachine
    //Let's assume there is alone class with such name then
         ReferenceType refType = (ReferenceType )classes.get(0);
         List methodsList = refType.methodsByName(yourMethodName);
    //Let's assume there is alone method with such name then
         Method method = (Method )methodsList.get(0);
         List locsList = method.locationsOfLine(neededLineNumber);
         Location location = (Location )locsList.get(0);
         // You've got the location
         EventRequestManager evm = vm.eventRequestManager();
         BreakpointRequest request = evm.createBreakpointRequest(location);
    And similarly, you may get ThreadReferences:
         List threadsList = vm.allThreads();
         // find thread eg. know by name
         ThreadReference thread = (ThreadReference )threadsList.get(index);
         EventRequestManager evm = vm.eventRequestManager();
         StepRequest request = evm.createStepRequest(thread, StepRequest.STEP_LINE, StepRequest.STEP_OVER);

  • How Do I Install and Uninstall the GPIB Driver on

    When I use GPIB as interface, I meet the problem "GPIB-32.DLL is either missing or  damaged."  In order to solve the problem, I need to uninstall all GPIB software, including NI-488.2 and reinstall NI-488.2. How can I do that. Thanks

    One more suggestion. Can you find your gpib-32.dll file, if it still exists. It should be located under the system directory "C:\Windows\system32" (for 32-bit systems). From there, right-click on the file and select properties. In the properties you can go to version»company or digital signature and it should display a company name. I would be curious to see who made the dll. If another dll with the same name got copied over this one it may give you the same error that you are receiving.

  • Help on how to install msn and uninstall programmes!

    i'm sorry if i seem rather dim from this, i promise i am not, just have a PC conditioned mind and finding it hard to negotiate my Mac.
    Firstly, when i try and install msn messenger it downloads the exe file, then when i try and open it it opens with firefox and doesn't actually set up, any help on how to address this would be GREATLY appreciated.
    Also, how do i view the programmes i have installed, and more to the point, how do i uninstall them????i am utterly confused by this.
    i am sorry if these are really common questions and you are getting sick of hearing them. any help would be ace.
    thanks

    Hi and welcome to Discussions,
    first, you have downloaded the Windows version of the Messenger, you need the Mac version:
    http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx?pid=download&location=/mac/download/ misc/messenger60_download.xml
    You can also use Adium X (which is a lot better then the MSN Messenger). Look here: http://trac.adiumx.com/wiki/AboutAdium
    Uninstalling programmes in OSX is fairly simple:
    When the programm has an uninstaller, use it.
    When it has not, you can simply drag it to the trash and that's it.
    Although with the this method, usually some Preference files are left behind, but that is not a great thing to be afraid of.
    Or you can use either AppDelete (free)http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/23149
    or AppZapper (costs) http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/20306/appzapper
    Have Fun
