How to publish a Captivate 7 widget on adobe exchange?

Hello everybody
I'm developing a license control widget for Adobe Captivate 7 that allows to control who and how many students execute a course. I'm trying to publish it in adobe exchage. But it ask me to check out the compatible products, i dont' see Captivate in any of them.
When i try to submit the uploaded widget it prompts asking for the compatible product and i can not check Captivate.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
manuel

Hi Neil, So here is a screenshot of the app when I downloaded it to Google Play (sorry about the blurry, didn't know how to take a screenshot on a kindle fire so I used my iPhone). I set it up a free app but when you create an app I only see that you can upload an APK file or upload an in-app file. I'm so confused on how Google play works. It is so different than iTunes and Amazon. I just want an app that is free with a free monthly magazine that we upload each month. Google play help couldn't help either :/

  • Publishing Widgets on Adobe Exchange

    Hi All,
    does anyone of you have experience with the Adobe Exchange upload of Widgets.
    I uploaded three Widgets and it says that it needs to get approved by the QA.
    No change in status for a week now.
    Any idea how long it usually takes?

    Just musing a bit here.
    It is probably one of those areas that may see a flurry of activity from time to time followed by long lulls. It's also probably an area that isn't the primary responsibility of any Adobe entity and is sort of treated as an afterthought. Hence the sporadic activity there.

  • How to publish a Captivate piece to Import as Animation with Media Player Controls

    I want to record a demonstration of an application using
    Captivate 3. Then, I want to publish this as a flash piece. (swf).
    Then, I want to "import as animation" into a WBT template using
    Captivate. The issue I am having is importing the flash piece to
    include the media player controls so the user has control of only
    that flash piece. Usually, we get two swf files one of the main
    recording and another of the skin (media player). I know I am
    missing something either in my publishing options or somewhere
    else.
    Can anyone help?

    Welcome to our community, juando_m
    You might try this. In the first project, click Project >
    Skin... > Borders tab and DE-select the "Show Borders" check
    box. This should coax the playback controls into the main part of
    the movie so there is a single .SWF. You could then have the
    playback controls present in the .SWF you insert into the second
    Captivate.
    Note that doing this will also cause the playback controls to
    cover part of the movie.
    I'm not sure how well the playback controls will work once
    the project gets inside the second. So I wouldn't be too surprised
    if they failed to work. But they might. So it's definitely worth
    trying to see.

  • How to print in captivate 5 - no widget

    Hi,
    I've seen various posts about using a widget to print a window/slide  "made from" Captivate 5.
    As I work in gov and their security policy is restrictive (for good reason I suppose), I can't download this widget.
    Is there another way I can get a slide to print? I was trying to do an execute javascript thing on a button, but that doesn't work.
    I published the file, went into the HTML and tinkered with it as per codelifter: and this post http://forums.adobe.com/thread/765038?tstart=0
    ============================================================
    Script:     Print Current Window From A Link
    Function:   Opens printer dialogue to print current page
    Browsers:   Version 4 and later (others degrade gracefully)
    Author:     etLux
    ============================================================
    Step 1.
    Put the following script in the head of your page.
    <script>
    // (C) 2000 www.CodeLifter.com
    // http://www.codelifter.com
    // Free for all users, but leave in this  header
    function printWindow(){
       bV = parseInt(navigator.appVersion)
       if (bV >= 4) window.print()
    </script>
    ============================================================
    Step 2.
    Put the following in the body of your page.
    <a href="javascript:printWindow()">Print This Page</a>
    ============================================================
    I couldn't do step two, because the html is per project not slide/page, but before I published I put in the script window
    "javascript:printWindow()" for "on Success" (ie clicking the button)
    It doesn't print though.
    Should I be using advanced actions instead?
    I have created a slide with text captions that have fields with a background of  a certificate. I want users to be able to print the certificate.
    Thank you
    Adrienne

    Unfortunately, I think you're going to find that the Print Widget is your best option.  It's an excellent widget that fills a very big gap in Cp functionality, the simple task of printing out a runtime slide.
    It doesn't really represent a security threat, but if you are trying to download it as a wdgt file, the reason your network is blocking this is that it probably doesn't know what this file ending is for, so it assumes it must be something nasty.  Secured networks usually have a limited list of file endings that are permitted and this one (.wdgt) is unique to Cp widgets.
    But a widget can also be a simple SWF file as well.  It doesn't have to be .wdgt to work.
    Contact the creator of the Print Widget: http://www.cpguru.com/2010/09/03/intelligent-print-widget-for-adobe-captivate-4-and-adobe- captivate-5/
    You should be able to get him to supply you with an SWF version of the widget (after you purchase it).
    If your network currently allows you to view Flash content at all, it already allows SWF files, so this widget should not be blocked in any way.
    All the other routes you describe above are a lot more trouble and far less likely to work reliably.

  • How to publish Captivate (swf) projects for free

    Hi Cap Users,
    This is not really a question, more of a handy tip.
    When I first started using Captivate I tried to find places where I could publish my projects for free. I've also seen lots of posts by instructional designers and students who want to get their projects 'out there' for little or no cost.
    Here's a short vid that shows you how to publish .swf projects via Weebly.com. You'll need to create a weebly website first. It's all free and the the site builder elements are drag and drop, so you can have a simple site in place within minutes.
    Weebly isn't set up for HTML5 as yet, but I'm sure that won't be far away.
    Click this link to see a demonstration - saving your Cap file, uploading and publishing it.
    Happy publishing!

    Ok, then I Publish the folio in folio producer like Public and Free and that's all, it's ok? Then when I want to sell this folio, back to the folio producer, change to Public and Minorist and in the Android Market build the in-app product, it's ok?

  • How to integrate adobe flash widgets from Adobe captivate with Adobe Presenter?

    Hi all,
    We are a group of students who are creating a number of flash widgets that allows them to create e-learning  activities. We are creating specific widgets in Flash  for use in Captivate and then the results of the widgets in Adobe Presenter. The  client noticed that widgets that work in Adobe Captivate don't always work in  Adobe Presenter. Is there a way to make this function  correctly?
    Secondly, if it  isn't possible to make that work correctly through the first method, is it  possible to utilise Adobe Air to do the same or similar process. The client  would prefer if we could integrate anything we use with an LMS and SCORM. But we  believe it may not be possible to do this with Adobe Air.
    Would someone be able to help us out with this?
    Thanx

    Some of the functionalities of CP4 (I assume that you use this version?) only work in a CP-published SWF, p.e. using the right mouse click as a trigger. I have inserted several CP-SWF's into Adobe Presenter, while using some of the widgets provided with CP4 and did not have any problems with these (p.e. Flash button). But I do not know what kind of widgets you created. Do they function all right in CP4 itself?

  • Captivate Certificate Widget - Printing Problems.

    Has anyone else experienced this problem? It's not a problem in Captivate, per say, but it's Captivate related.
    First some vital facts:
    OS: Mac OS X 10.6.4
    Captivate 5
    Flash: CS4
    Flash Player: 10.1.53.64
    Browser: Firefox
    I have a customized Captivate Certificate Widget (AS3) from Captivate 4 that works perfectly. When one clicks the "Print Button", the print dialog box comes up and when one checks the print preview option, one sees the certificate ready to be sent to the printer.
    Fantastic. Now I want to save this Flash file as a new file and I want to change a textbox on the certificate that is no connected to the ActionScript at all. When I publish this new file, the Print button no longer works. Can anyone explain this?
    I have, in fact taken a look at the new Captivate 5 Certificate Widget. I published it out and it's print button doesn't work either! I took both my swfs into XP and opened them and they both worked fine in Firefox and IE.
    After further examining both Flash files for the CP4 Certificate Widget and the CP5 Certificate Widget, I keep noticing that an error is traced to the output window when publishing the files. The error appears after pressing the Print button and then canceling the print. The error that I'm getting is:
    TypeError: Error #2007: Parameter child must be non-null.
       at flash.display::DisplayObjectContainer/removeChild()
       at CertificateWidget_fla::MainTimeline/ClickPrint()
    I've managed to point the problem to line 207: this.removeChild(sheets);
    Is this causing the problem?
    If anyone could help, that would be great. I don't want to tell my client that the certificate that was working, now doesn't work for no apparent reason.

    I use Cap 4 for testing. You put a name field in the first slide, then the certificate widget will fill in the name, date, and score.  You get a print or e-mail field at the bottom of the certificate.
    I used Internet sources to find out how to do some things, but the Adobe free online webinars taught me most of it.

    I also check Adobe TV for great tutorials. http://tv.adobe.com/search/?q=captivate
    As far as making the certificate work in Cap 5, I've read a lot of suggestions, but couldn't make them work.

    Hi
    If you publish your Captivate project to Adobe Connect, then you will get a URL which you can provide to your users. Users need to open the URL to play the project.

  • How to upload a Captivate Project six to Black Board nine

    Trying to upload a Captivate six(version .240) Project  to Blackboard 9.  The content modules do not need scoring.
    I understand you publish the Captivate project to SWF and tick output to be a zip,then upload the zip package. Blackboard 9 has the import package option. But how do you tell BB to unzip the file to start the HTML?Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
    I have not worked with BlackBorad LMS , But generally when you upload your zipped content on LMS it generates a LINK which you can share it with your users
    Once you open that link in your webbrowser it plays the output for you.
    Hope this helps

  • How can I make Captivate work in Articulate?

    I have already contacted my Articulate support person, but I thought I would contact someone with some Captivate expertise.  I am trying to import a Captivate file into Articulate.  This file was developed by an outside source and consists of three .swf files and other pertinent dependent files.  I understand by my Articulate instructions that I do not need any of the dependent files when I import the main .swf into Articulate.  I just have to be sure to copy and paste the other .swf files into the content folder once my presentation is published.
    My main questions are, are there any instructions on how to save the Captivate file in order for it to work with Articulate?  Are there any caveats the developer should know when working with these two programs?

    Hi there
    I'm guessing that would be a question that could only be answered by someone that knows Articulate really well.
    Have you tried the Articulate forums?

  • Published .avi from Captivate is shorter in Adobe Media Encoder

    I published 8 slides from Captivate 4 to .avi video format.  When I play the .avi in Windows Media Player, it works great.  I'm using Adobe Media Encoder to convert it to .flv file to use in my Flash project.  When I import the .avi to AME, it's shorter and the audio on the last slide is cut off.  I tried inserting a duplicate slide with silent audio in Captivate to extend the duration by 10 seconds.  Still, the .avi is 2:57 in length and when I import it to AME it's 2:47.  It makes no difference if I extend the last silent slide to even 25 seconds.
    Is this an issue with AME or with Captivate 4?  How do I fix it?
    Thank you!

    Here's the info I can provide at this time:
    Yes, it seems that this only affects .avi files published from Captivate.  Other .avi files reflect the correct length when imported to AME.
    Using AME CS4 4.2.0.006.
    Using Captivate CS4 4.0.0.1596.
    Yes, it happens with every .avi file published from Captivate.  I've tried the following and still the last slide (#8) was cut off at the end including its audio:
    extended last slide (#8) for more than a minute after the audio stops
    extended the audio on the last slide (#8) by inserting silence for additional 30 seconds
    added another slide (#9) after the last slide
    added another slide (#9) after the last slide with 30 seconds of silent audio
    I did find a temporary solution, however.  I added a transparent object (rectangle) a few seconds after the audio ended on slide 8 and when I published to .avi, Captivate recognized the added object and published the video to include the added animation.
    You may download a zipped file containing the Captivate project and the published .avi from here:

    Thank you,
    Artur
