How to Publish BI publisher report on Dashboard ???

Hi All,
I am new in BI EE. I create a report in BI publisher and after that I want to publish that report in BI Dashboards...
When I got the edit dashboard page my report is not showing there (which i created in the BI Answers using Administrator user) how i add the path of BI Publisher in the InstaceConfig File??
Please rectify my confusion I am very grateful to you...

No. All you need to do is go to the Edit Dashboard Page and pull in the BI Publisher report using the BI Publisher Report section. Ensure that you have specified proper BI Publisher path in the InstanceConfig.xml

When you go into the Edit Dashboards page, do you see a BI Publisher icon to your left? just drag and drop that into your page and then click on properties to include your BI Publisher report. If you get an error then check(only after doing the above) whether you have these entries in your InstanceConfig.xml

Hi Subbu,
Apology for delay in reading your post.
Your needs and their solution are,
'split by branches ' - use bursting capability of BI Publisher
'have to give security to that branch user' - make out the report in specific folder and dashboard in BI Dashboard. Then give role based and grouped access to users to this Dashboard. For this navigate in BI Application to Settings > Admin > Manage Presentation Catalog. here you can setup dashboard specific security.

Put BI Publisher report in dashboard without OBIEE

I created a BI Publisher report, unfortunately, we don't have OBIEE, I can create a button to call the report from APEX, but how do I change it to dashboard report without OBIEE?

Are you trying to have multiple sql queries and have multiple sections displaying different data sets ? Or with one single query but display it in different ways in a single report ?
You can create one single query as Report Query in APEX and associate it with a BIP report layout. So you can achieve a Dashboard layout with the report query/layout.

Problem showing BI Publisher Report in Dashboard with Prompt

Hi,
I've created a BI Publisher report using BI Answer as data source. For getting some xml files for building the rtf Template I've set my filter datas to fixed values.
I've created my dashboard with my BIP report and a query from BI Answer.
All was shown correctly now. Now I've also implemented a prompt setting my filter datas.
The BI Answer part is still shown correctly, but my BIP report shows the following error:
Odbc driver returned an error (SQLExecDirectW).
What's wrong??? Please help ...

I think I know why it is not working ...
I've 7 BI Answer queries for getting all the required datas for my report.
So I have 7 data sets which I've set to concatenated data-soruce in BI Publisher. Normally parameters and LOVs are disabled, when BI Answer is used for data set, but it isn't anymore when data source is concatenated and so don't use anymore my prompted values ...
How can I use concatenated data source in BIP with prompted values???
If this isn't possible I#m back to one of my other threads ...

Non OBIEE Publisher reports and dashboards

I have developed several Publisher reports that source data from direct SQL queries against an Oracle DB (They're not star schema reports that are appropriate for OBIEE). The reports are parameterized and direct SQL requests are used to populate the lists of values for the parameters. My task is to make them available on a dashboard.
I have a report attached to a dashboard but I cannot figure out how to prompt for the parameters in the dashboard. Everything I've read about dashboard prompts and presentation variables assumes the report is sourced by OBIEE.
Is there a way to do this?

You have to create parameter in reports and as well create prompt in dashboard with same name.
With this link, the values will be passed into report parameter.
Use that parameter in report to filter

Add publisher report to dashboard

Hi all
in 10g there was an option to add a BI publisher report to a dashboard.
I do not see that link in 11g. Does anybody know if this is still possilbe?
I want to try and click on a id number in one dashboard tab and have it link to a publisher report that accepts the parameter in another tab.
Currently i have set up a dashboard prompt that sets a presentation variable. This PV is the same name as the parameter in the publisher report.
Having trouble getting this going. Has anybody seen a good link / tutorial on how to integrate these two in 11g?

Thank you! it is what i was looking for.
Reading through the docs it appears that when I should be able to see my publisher reports in the catalog view.
when i log in to OBIEE i only see the analysis that I created in OBIEE under the catalog tree.
I have to log into publisher to see my publisher reports.
According to the docs i should be able to see my publisher reports in the catalog view. And then just drag and drop one.
Any idea how I can see the publisher reports when I log into Business Intelligence??

Issues with BI publisher report in dashboard

Hello all,
I got some issues about BI publisher reports in a dashboard.
I use a dashboard prompt in combination with a BIP report.
1.) I don't want to see the publisher control bar in my dashboard. Now you can't view the report anymore after using the dashboard prompt. Because it says you have to press the view button which is on the publisher control bar.
So when I add the bar. Then I have first to press on go in the dashboard prompt and after that I have to press on view in the publisher control bar.
2.) When I open my dashboard I see a scroll bar in my BIP report. Now when I use the dashboard prompt, it disappears. So I can't view the entire report anymore
3.) I like to develop in english, but the test must be in dutch. Now I have a english dashboard with a dutch control bar. Also logging in to BIP in english and then navigating to analytics will not help.
4.) I can't use I-bots on BI publisher reports, or can I?
5.) This is not really an issue, but more like a problem but I want that users can view the BIP report on the dashboard only in HTML, but I want that they only can export to excel, is this possible?

Thanks for your quick respond.
1.) Auto Run is enabled. And the report runs automatically as well. But then it ignores the dashboard prompt (as a regular report would do as well). But when I choose some values in the prompt and then press go. Then it says I have to press on view as well.
2.) no that is not the case. My report is so big that it always need a scroll bar ;) also adjusting the size settings in the dashboard doesn't help. The only occurs when viewing in HTML, when previewing in excel or RTF it all just work fine.
3.) true, but ow well this is the least importetant one ;) so if this doesn't work, than it doesn't work ;)
4.) Ok, I will have a look on that.
5.) I did enabled HTML and EXCEL outputs in my BIP report. But when the first point is working, then I don't want to see the control bar anymore and I want to have the output on the dashboard in HTML and then I want to build a button, or a link or something that exports the request to excel. Is that possible?

How to publish report to APEX

For WEBI report, actually no need to publish report as it is already behaved as a publish report. If your user want to view their report then they can easily do it using the report server url (providing necessary credential). In this case you have to make sure that your user account has not administrative privilege. You can also schedule your report (output could be .xls, .pdf) and automatically can send this report to the end users' email / inbox etc.

I have a set of reports which I would like our client to publish to Crystal Server XI. How can I do so programmatically? If I have scripts, I just need to ask the client to run the scripts rather than explain the process of going through publishing wizard or CMC etc.
Further I would like to schedule these reports programmatically. Kindly help.

CR 2011 does not install any SDK... You can however download SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio, which is an SDK that will let you work with VS 2010 and 2012.
You will then have to decide if you want to use the Crystal Reports SDK or the InProc RAS SDK.

How to Publish Reports to the user?

Ive created a reporting using the Time-based Publishing at Content Management >> Reports. Now I would like to publish the created report to the user. How can I do it?

I discover another away to publish the KM Report:
1. Navigate to "Content Management >> Reports"
2. At the Approval Maintenance's context menu click on "more >> Properties"
3. On details page click on "Access Link"
4. Copy the explorer url and paste into the URL Iview.
I'm not sure if it is the right way.

How to Publish Report as portlet?

after creating a report within an application, how can I publish this component as a portlet. In the "Manage" Tag of the report, the option "publish as report" is not there. Do I have to create a "Provider",and if so, how can I do it?

You will first have to expose your application as a provider. You can do this from the grant access tab of the application. Then you should be able to see the "publish as portlet" option for your report.

SQL Server Reporting Services provides access to the full functionality of the report server through the Report Server Web service. In order to meet your requirement, you
can try to converting an .rdlc file to an .rdl file
and then deploy the report to report server.
If you want to rendering the report in your application, you can try to use the ReportViewer controls in remote processing mode.

How to remove links from report in dashboards

Hi All,
In guided navigational reports how to delete links under the report that displays in the new window(like modify, refresh,print links) in dashboard.
Example -

Return Modify Refresh Print Download(want to remove the links in Bold).

You Edit Dashboard and update the Properties for the report in the section it resides. You will select Report Links.
