I want to purchase the Design Standard CS 6 upgrade and prefer to have the DVDs instead of downloading for several hours. I have Design Standard CS 5.5. The Adobe site is extremely difficult to navigate to do this simple thing. I am not at all interested in Creative Cloud.

Thanks for the quick help Jeff. Turns out that the installer gave me the option to install both a 32 & 64 bit version, which, for some reason, I accepted. It didn't like that. So I tried just the 64 bit version and that worked. Gotta pay closer attention.

Accidentally purchased CS6 upgrade for Windows instead of Mac, how do I exchange it?

I recently upgraded our CS5 to CS6 and purchased it through the Adobe website. There was no option for choosing a particular platform (Mac or Windows) during the purchase process. I didn't realize that it was for Windows until I tried downloading my upgrade. How do I exchange this download to the Mac platform?

Well, actually there was, but super-easy to miss. All you have to do is click on Edit at the Shopping cart where you would choose "upgrade" and "Mac".
You can't use a Windows s/n to activate the Mac version. Serial numbers are platform specific.
What you will be doing is to sign in, go through the Support Portal to request an return or exchange.

It's a mess I know, but at least you can.

How install premiere cs6 upgrade with premiere cs3 installed and not recognized

I have a Windows 7 integrale 64bits computer.
I installed Premiere pro CS3 (upgrade from cs2)
It run OK but refused activation (the Adobe Support told me this is due to CS3 uncompatibility with Windows 7).
Then I tried to install Premiere C6 as upgrade from CS3.
But the install program doesn't recognize the CS3 previous install and asks for old serial number. I check "upgrade from cs3" then enter the previous CS3 serial number. CS6 install refuses it. So I can't install it.Thanks for help.

Premiere never "looks" for an older version on the system when installing an upgrade, and in fact, the best thing to do is completely uninstall any old version before upgrading. Also, you should run the "Adobe Cleaner" utility to remove any remnants of old software before new install. Only an older serial is needed for an upgrade, but of course must meet version requirements.

[App Store bad] How to purchase Lion upgrade software for 1-10 small business users?

I think the App Store is great for non-commercial individual users. However, I think it is preventing both OS X and iOS adoption in small business since it is much easier to purchase PC software as either physical media or software deownloads and keys that can be distributed to the employee who needs it.
Does anyone have any experience on purchasing multiple OS X Lion upgrades for a company similar to the following?
150 employees, less than 10 OS X users.
IT manager insists on pruchasing and controlling all software deployed on the corporate network.
Employees are *strongly* discouraged or just plain not allowed to expense purchases.
I understand a single Appled ID can not purchase multiple OS X Lion upgrades to deploy on multiple machines. It seems like the App Store is forcing small business to reimburse each employee for software purchases made through their individual personal Apple ID. What happens when they leave the company? This is a strategy that I think will make IT managers and purchasing managers reject adoption of Max OS X.
The only option that seems to satisfy the above is the physical media option of the OS X Lion USB Thumb Drive which at $69 per commerical user's machine will exceeds twice the cost of the $29.99 upgrade.

Volume licensing requires +20 users so that does not help a small company with a handful of OS X users.
"Volume license contracts and maintenance agreements are available for all Apple products with a minimum quantity of 20 licenses."
For commercial users, you cannot legally install a single $29.99 upgrade on all machines. Yes, it may be possible but IT managers, even at small business companies, are concerned with what is legal. I think the App Store is a contributor to additional reasons for keeping OS X out of the small business world. It complicates the lives of purchasing and IT managers.

Trying to purchase CS6 upgrade

Digital River appears to be blacklisting. Trying to purchase but order fails. Called credit card company, and was told there was no problem on their end. I've been told there isn't even the standard $1.00 preauthorization attempt at all. The order is just failing outright with no attempt at preauth whatsoever. Having to call to place an order defeats the purpose of online ordering.

Can't Download CS6 upgrade.

Purchased CS6 upgrade from CS5. At download screen I got message that my browser must be upgraded to work with macromedia with choice of browser update sites. I have IE10 on Windows 8 and no upgrades are possible but it won't let me download. When I go to my orders in the My Account section the timer spins indefinately and never lists anything even though I have purchased CS 3, CS4 and CS5 from adobe. What gives? How can I download my purchase?

You cannot upgrade a Creative Suite to a standalone product.
Creative Suites can only be upgrades to other Creative Suites.
You'll need to return Photoshop CS6 upgrade since you cannot use it.
Return, cancel, or exchange an Adobe order
Some options:
Buy a Creative Suite upgrade, or
Buy a full new copy of Photoshop CS6, or
Join the Cloud

I own CS5.5, and subscribe to CC as well. I'd like to upgrade my perpetual license to CS6 in case there are years when I don't want the CC subscription. You got it all wrong. No, you cannot simply use your Win serial on a Mac. All this stuff requires a proper platform swap, which is free for current versions, but can only be done once. And you don't get physical media unless you explicitly request it. It's simply a download. If and when CS7 is available, you simply buy the upgrade and switch platforms.

Inasmuch as you are allowed to purchase a perpetual license for Photoshop CS6, there's no technical reason you can't install it on Windows 8. When an upgrade installation asks about the prior product, you need only give it the serial number of your Photoshop CS5 license.
