How to push color settings and profiles?

I understand AAMEE 3.0 does not support packaging settings alltogether with the apps.
So the questions comes, how do you guys push the color settings and the workspaces to the newly deployed CS6 packages?
Is there a safe/approved way to do it?
Thank you.

FOGRA39 is fine for sheet fed offset-printing in Europe (central Europe at least).
For web fed offset printed magazines you may want to use either ISO Coated v2 300 (ECI) or PSO LWC Improved (ECI) if you have no further information.
And for newspapers ISOnewpaper26v4.

You may want to read up (in the Help or  other resources) on Color Management, though, to get a grasp on factors like Render Intent.
And better not use »Assign Profile« unless you are certain you understand what this does.
Will be printed CMYK image as well, as it looks?
That would naturally depend on your monitor and how regularly it is calibrated.

  • Permanately Saving Color Settings and Profile in Photoshop CS2

    Hello,
We have Photoshop CS2 for Windows and Photoshop CS2 for Mac. I have custom color setting .csf files and .icc profile we want to load in Photoshop permanently. If I use the load option in Photoshop it appears the color settings will load these settings temporarily. If I choose another color setting and go back to the custom settings, I will have to reload the settings again.
Is there a way to permanately have the color settings permanately appear in the list without having to load by using options in the Photoshop menu?
Now I know if I manually drop the .csf or .icc file in the below folders located in the below path, the settings will permanately appear i, but I don't know if there is an easier way using the menus within Photoshop to permanatly load these or do we have to manually install these files to get this done. Trying to give out directions on how to do this would like to know if there is an easier way.
    On Windows:
    in Windows, it's inside Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Color\Settings.
    On MAC:
    Library\Application Support\Adobe\Color\Settings folder;

  • How to push out settings like stroke, swatch, etc...? CS3

    Hello,
I am trying to create a standardized settings in indesign. So that everyone using the program has the same settings, for example, same stroke, swatch and all other prefs. I have about 40 PC's and would like a way to push this out to each user.
Or if a user notices settings are not right, they can run this script and they will all be reset to our inhouse default.
I have done this, set the prefs to the way I liked on one computer. Closed Indesign and then copied the:
    C:\documents and settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Adobe\InDesign\Version 5.0
    AND
    C:\documents and settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\InDesign\Version 5.0
folders out to my network. I then created a script to grab those folders and copy them to the current users folders. However this does not seem to work all the time.
For example I know that I made the swatch Black, but it reverts back to None.
Are all the settings not stored in the InDesign Defaults and Color Settings and Saved Data files ?
Anyone out there doing this successfully? thanks.

    >Usually they don't open just in design, they open a page that has already been started, etc..
Then the styles and swatches, etc., must either already be in that document, or they need to be added. Changing the defaults is only going to affect new work, not existing files.
Adobe says that preferences can be scripted, and I know that's true because one of the scripters has mentioned doing just that for a client. But he wasn't at liberty to share the code, and Adobe doesn't provide any details for how to do it that I've been able to find. :(

  • How to transmit color proofs and other settings without activation?

    Hallo!
I crashed my computer weeks ago and installed PS CS2 at a new system with a new activation (earlier activations have been made because of hard disc changes)
The activation was ok but when I tried to load my color proofs made at the first computer I was asked to make a new activation.
Is there any possibility to use the proofs without a next activation? (I´m not sure if I have a new one left)
    Please help
    Anna

    Anna,
Your situation would be a good one to call Adobe Tech Support (installation issues are free). They can tell you how many activations you have, and help you get up and running.

  • How to control Color Mode and Resolution for brochure creation?

    Hello guys,
I am trying to find some settings within Pages, where I could set CMYK color mode and 300 dpi resolution for my pdf file.
I am creating brochure from scratch, using blank document, because non of brochure templates work for what I need. But I can't find any controls for color mode and resolution set up.
Is there any solution for this?

There has been a lot of discussion in the Pages forum about resolution and some on CMYK.
Much of the discussion has been incorrect.
For the colour handling there is the colour palette
The Apple Colour Palette is the user interface for colour managing vector objects created in Apple Pages such as rules and panels and for colour managing one class of vector objects not created in Apple Pages, namely typographic objects.
Imported objects maintain their colourant model and colour space, if there is one. If there is none, a colour space is assigned and the assigned colour space is saved out into the PDF, opposite e.g. Adobe Photoshop which will colour manage the object in the open editing session, but will then save out the object to disk without the assigned ICC profile if 'Colour Management: Off' is configured.
Therefore, if the imported object is data space CMYK and the colour space device CMYK, the system will assign the Generic CMYK Profile which is equivalent to ANSI CGATS TR001 colourimetry (US SWOP); if the imported object is data space RGB and the colour space is device RGB, the system will assign the Generic RGB Profile which is equivalent to sRGB colourimetry in OS X 10.5 and higher.
In general, always capture and then convert for correction in one of two data spaces with three channels, either ICC colour managed RGB or ICC CIELa*b D50. Then convert to CMYK1, CMYK2, CMYK3, CMYKn from the ICC colour space chosen for correction and archiving. This colour space should be large enough to hold any colours that the output colour spaces can hold.
The Apple ColorSync Utility has a gamut comparison dialogue which is 3D (point, press, and turn the 3D gamut comparison). Use this facility to pick an ICC colour space of reasonable size and shape for correction and conversion into final output. Don't pick sRGB as a quick look will show that it can't hold as input what ISO reference offset can hold as output for pure cyan, let alone hold what a big inkjet can hold in greens, blues, reds and yellows.
The ICC architecture lets the ICC profile for the printed output match out of gamut colours to in gamut colours using the Perceptual rendering intent, as intended in the original architecture from 1995. Adobe internally introduced an inhouse conversion for compatibility with PostScript and as default for PDF, Relative Colorimetric with Adobe Black Point Compension. Relative Colorimetric is in fact a proofing transform, without gamut mapping. Black Point Compensation is a simple linear scaling of the lightness to compensate for the fact that the shadows will be clipped in a Relative Colorimetric conversion.
The other problem is transparency, introduced in the QuickDraw Graphics Extension for Mac OS 7.5. Transparency is not supported in any version of Adobe PostScript (level 1, level 2 or level 3). Transparency is also not supported in any version of Adobe PDF prior to version 1.4 and higher. Therefore, unless the RIP Raster Image Processor is able to accept PDF 1.4 and higher, transparency has to be rendered / flattened which is done in the PDF/X-3 filter of the Apple ColorSync Utility.
The idea in the PDF/X-3 filter (for Adobe PDF 1.3) is that the everyday enduser, after placing ICC colour managed RGB or CIE La*b D50 objects, and after choosing an ICC colour space for objects created in Pages, chooses the ICC colour space for the output condition. The filter accepts both ICC profiles of type MNTR Monitor with data space RGB, ICC profiles of type PRTR Printer with data space RGB, and ICC profiles of type PRTR Printer with data sapce CMYK.
The colourant conversion (RGB to CMYK) and the gamut mapping (out of gamut colours in input colour spaces mapped to in gamut colours in output colour space) is then calculated as per the ICC profile for the output condition. An output condition is the combination of factors that affect how colour is formed: the colour lightness and colour tint of the paper, the colours of the colourants, and the tone value increase. Think of gamut mapping in a good ICC profile as Format 1 kerning in a TrueType font (where your font has state-based kerning for up to 8 glyphs simultaneously).
Below a link to a discussion of how to change the default PDF/X-3 filter the Apple ColorSync Utility. "Wegen diverser Fehler im Mac OS X empfiehlt es sich, wo immer möglich, die PDFs ohne Transparenzreduktion (also auf normalem Weg) über den Befehl Als PDF sichern zu erstellen und das Flattening der Druckerei zu überlassen," that is, pick the plain save as PDF path and leave the transparency flattening to the prepress technician.

  • What are the right Color Settings and Proof Setup in Photoshop if you design for the web?

This question has come up numerous times, but I still haven't seen a satisfying, final answer. I would like to make sure that what I'm designing in Photoshop in regards to colors, saturation and brightness will be as close as possible as what I'm going to see in my Safari browser once that same page has been developed.
I understand there are going to be differences between monitors and browsers, but if I just could get an almost one to one translation in regards to color/saturation/brightness from my Photoshop file to that same developed HTML page in Safari that would be ideal.
Currently I set my Color Settings to Monitor RGB - Display and my Proof Setup to Monitor RGB. Not sure if these settings are correct.
Curious to hear your thoughts and advice.
    Thanks,
    -Tony

if AdobeRGB is the more professional working space, then why not use that profile?
on the web (and in unmanaged and broken work flows) sRGB is the safest profile (source space)
just open your tagged Adobe RGB and tagged ProPhoto RGB document (use the embedded profile in each document)
and go to View> Proof Setup: Monitor RGB (notice the loss in saturation? that's how most of the people on the Internet will be viewing your color, assuming you have a standard-gamut monitor like most people)
always CONVERT to sRGB for the World Wide Web
    i didn't read your link
anyone who recommends "disable color management in Photoshop" -- set Working RGB to "Monitor RGB" -- AND MOST UNBELIEVABLY -- "Don't color manage this document" (ignore embedded profiles) ------ is pretty mixed up (in my opinion)
i will recommend reading JEFF SCHEWE and BRUCE FRASER for professional color management information

  • Color Settings and Making Photos Pop

I have to preface this with saying that I am a recent convert from Nikon Capture/Photoshop/PC world to the 2.8 24" iMac. I shoot entirely Nikon raw (NEF) and typically just tweak white balance, exposure, and color settings in post processing.
With that said... I have been trying to define my new workflow and have decided iPhoto isn't doing it, so I switched over to Aperture. I really like the app, but am having serious issues tuning the color in the images; specifically, I tweak them on the imac and they look beautiful, but typically look too "light" and nowhere near as brilliant on any other computer. I have calibrated the display with OS X built-in color tool (through Display... Colors), but am way to amateur to go and buy a real calibration tool.
Is this something stupid that I am (or am not) doing? Whatever I am missing is driving me nuts as the pictures just aren't as good as they used to be on the PC...
    tia,
    Bill

First, it's absolutely impossible to accurately profile a display without a hardware calibrator. The eyeball, in its adjustability, is also your biggest enemy. If you ever intend to print (or send your photos to a lab to get prints), then doing this without hardware calibration will be a waste of your money.
That said, if the images are looking flat (and not-so-contrasty) on your Mac, check the gamma setting. You want 2.2 gamma rather than the default 1.8 "Mac" gamma. The latter is an anachronism and should not be used unless you specifically have a need for it dating from the 1980's in the print industry

  • How to modify regional settings and keep Acrobat 9.4.1 working?

When I modify the regional settings on my W7 PC (i.e. switching the decimal symbol and digit grouping symbol from dot to comma and vice-versa), I cannot print to Adobe PDF Printer nor can I convert Office documents to PDF files anymore. It seem like the joboptions files were getting corrupted (I can see read errors).
Can anyone advise on how to modify the regional settings and keep Acrobat 9.4.1 Pro working properly? Do I have to adopt the joboptions files (and if yes, how?)?
    Thank you for your advice!

The defaults for three are blank entries. That is there are no defaults, The only way to get those back to being blank would be to delete your preferences file ( Home->Library->Preferences->com.apple.Aperture,plist ) and possibly the files in *Home->Library->Program Support->Aperture* (but I don't think you would need to do these, not sure.)
However before you do this you should know there is no drawback to having these entries filled in. Aperture would only attempt to use them if you actually selected them while using Aperture. It won't be looking for them on startup. And if the programs pointed to by these entries no longer exist on your system Aperture won't even fill in the names in the menu items where these are pointed to ( *Photos->Edit with* for example)

  • How to change colors settings -- newbie to mac

I was messing around with the settings and selected to polarize the image so that it looks like a photo negative. I feel like a moron so far in using the mac and i cant find how to switch it back to normal. Any help is appreciated.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
If you mean the whole screen has turned negative, open the Universal Access preference pane (in System Preferences in the Dock) and in the 'Seeing' tab, click a checkmark against 'Black on White'. You can also switch between 'normal' and reversed modes with Cmd/Opt/Crtl/8.
If you mean an image such as a scan or photo, it depends on which software you're using!

  • How long does  erase settings and content take?

Let me try this again. My question is......  "How long does the erase settings and content process take?"  I have an iPhone 4s 16gig.
Its been on the screen black screen with  rotating circle for about an hour already.
Hope this doesnt get my  post erased again.

You're over 2 months late on this reply, and also wrong. Erase All Content and Settings on any phone from the 3GS forward simply writes over the encryption key, thus scrambling all of the data on the phone. It takes under 10 seconds. On the iPhone Classic and 3G it could take several hours, but not phones with hardware encryption line the 3GS, 4, 4S and 5.

  • How to find my 'role' and 'profile'?

When i log into a client as a user, Is there a way for me to find out what my 'role' and 'profile' are? I can't run su01d.
Edited by: Concoran Fernandez on May 18, 2008 5:28 AM

    Hi,
No there is no such transaction as far as i know,But you can change your own user data in 'SU3'.
If your requirement is that you want to see whicch authorization you are missing then use the tcode SU53.It will show you the missing authorization. Then use suim to find out which role or tcode has that authorization so that u can assign the todes and auth using 'SU01' or 'PFCG'.

  • How to push EAP-TLS configuration Profile and Certificates to Mac books and Iphones

    Hi Team,
We were able to push the EAP-TLS configuration profiles and certificates to windows devices via group policy.  However, we're now looking to see how we can accomplish this for Mac book and iphones?  Is there an open source application or something we can leverage to do this?
    Thanks

I think ammahend was looking for a rough count which is what my question was going to be. The reason I would ask this is that if the device count is low then you could manually provision certs on those devices. Not ideal since you will have to manually generate CSRs, get them signed and then installed on the machines.
Another way to do this is if you have an MDM solution in place. You can have the MDM integrate with your CA via SCEP and then on-board devices that way. You don't have to integrate ISE with MDM (advanced licenses needed) as you can only have ISE check for the cert and only perform EAP-TLS authentications.
    Hope this helps!

  • Color space and profiles clarifications

Does FCPX consider the embedded color profile of my clips ?
What is the default color space of FCPX projects ? (if any)
Can I select a specific color profile for my projects ?
My clips (according to after effect_cs6>interpret footage>color management) have this color profile embedded: HDTV (Rec. 709) Y'CbCr, but if I check out the same clip once transcoded to prores422 by FCPX there is no color profile anymore. What's goin on ?
I come from the photography world and we consider color profiles very important, what should I know about them when working with video ?
    Thanks a lot

Thanks TOm, what do you mean internally ? In AE I can select a color space from a long list for my projects while FCPX discard the color profiles from the imported clips... how can it even manage them ?
    Thanks

  • How to omit color cartridge and yet be able to print on an HP Officejet 6110 all-in-one

I rarely print in color, but after a while, the color cartridge has to be replaced because, I suppose, the ink dries up. Without the color cartridge in place, the machine says I have to insert a cartridge and will not allow me to print with only the black cartridge in place. Does anyone know how I can bypass the color cartridge requirement?

    Hi,
HP do not provide any USB connection solution for iOS.
As Active Print is a 3rd party application which provide this functionality, i believe you may find a better help within Active Print support as they more familier with their application requirement and functionality:
