How to Push photos to parent's iPad?

I'm sure I'm not the only one looking for a solution to this.
Just gave our parents an iPad. We'd like to set them up with a few galleries and then be able to push photographs into the galleries so they can easily see new pictures. They are connecting via Wifi and they do NOT have a computer in their home.
MobileMe's Gallery App will NOT work, as it shows ALL of someone's MobileMe galleries if you are the visitor, and we want to make private (hidden) galleries just for them.
Some people have suggested using Dropbox or Goodreader, but these are not really elegent solutions and certainly not good for ageing parent.
Any suggestions?

My mother-in-law is in China, and I plan to buy her an iPad (or Android) tablet so we can Skype over Wi-Fi.
When the tablet is not being used as a camera phone, I would ilke it to cycle through images, and be able to push images to the phone..
So when her granddaughter goes on her first prom, HS graduation, Award ceremony, those pictures will be added tot he queue, and cycle through.
Better if we can retire older pictures, to make room for new.
Video clips that automatically run would be nice too.
You put out a request several months ago, I was wondering what the final solution was, and if you are happy with it!

Connect your iPad to your computer with iTunes open.  Once the iPad is recognized on the left side, click it once.  Click the Photo tab and choose what pictures you want to sync to your iPad.  Once you've made your selection, click Apply in the lower right hand corner.

If you are using Windows, then head to Windows Explorer, plug your device in, select your device and you can copy the images over from the device to any location on your computer as normal.
On a mac, plug your device in, launch iPhoto, and click import.

How to transfer hoot from pc to iPad?

You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import.

  • How turn off Photos autostarting when connecting iPad

When I connect my iPad Mini 3 (iOS 8.3) to Yosemite 10.10.3 over USB, my MacBook Pro always starts Photos.
How do I turn off Photos autostarting?
My iPad is a test bed for apps, so Photos always comes over my Xcode screen when I least want it
Besides, there is no pictures on the iPad to sync anyway
I've been looking in the manuals and on the forums here, to no avail. That is why I turn to you.
    Thanks, Eburon

I found the answer, so I'd happily share it:
Follow these steps to turn off iPhoto’s auto-startup when you connect your iOS device to your Mac:
Connect your iOS device to your Mac via your Lightning or 30-pin sync cable. (iPhoto will open one last time, go ahead and close it.)
Open the Image Capture app. (It’s in your Applications folder.)
Click on your iOS device in the left-hand pane.
At the bottom left of the Image Capture window, you’ll see a pull-down option allowing you to select what happens when your connect this iOS device to your Mac. (You may need to click the tiny “up” arrow in the lower left corner before you see this option.)
The top option is “No application.” Click that option to select it.
Close out the app. iPhoto should no longer pop-up every time you connect you iOS device to you Mac.
With special thanks to Kirk McElhearn, (via The Loop), for the original tip and Chris Hauk for making me find it on Google.

Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad. Photos that were synced from your computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from on your computer and then re-syncing

Note that you need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad in one go, as only the contents of the most recent sync remain on the iPad - so if you want to sync multiple photo folders they need to be directly off the same parent folder so that they can be selected together.
So, then I cannot download them from iCloud onto my iPad?  I should have known it wouldn't be that easy, LOL..
