How to put a password on my applications like imovie

I'm trying to figure out if I can put a password on my applications like iMovie on my iMac I have the latest
software and the 21.5 display. Can anybody help me out here
thanks

You can set a password on your user account in OSX.
You can set up separate accounts for other users. (with their own passwords if you want)
There is no way AFAIK to do a password just for iMovie.

Find a webhosting company :

They will provide the instructions how to password protect a directory (=folder)?
Until you find one, you can practice on your own computer :

• How to put a password on a document in Pages application

I have created a document on pages on my iphone. I want to put a password to open this document just like you do to a word file. So that each time i open the document it ask me for a passoword to open the document. Is there any facility in Pages application? thanks

Passwords can't be set to pages documents on the iPhone. I would send a complaint to Apple. If enough people complain about it, it will probably be added in the next update of Pages.

• How can I reset password in email application

I'm helping an elderly neighbour (I'm elderly myself) with an email problem on his Mac (I don't know which one, but this is a pure S/W problem).
When he starts his system, he eventually gets a prompt for his SMPT password. Nothing works. He can signon to the BT Yahoo! webmail, using the email address/password, so we know his password is correct. We changed the password, and the webmail still worked (with the new password), but the built-in email client (eagle on stamp icon) still rejects his password, even when it prompts him to enter it.
I tried his POP/SMTP credentials in the Outlook on my Window7 system, and I can both send/receive mail. So there seems to be nothing wrong at the SMTP server.
How would I go about resetting his POP/SMTP details in the "eagle" application?
Somewhere along the line, he started seeing a "KeyChain" application appearing. This also asked him for a password, but he has no idea what to enter. He's tried every conceivable password (and I tried a null password, in case none had ever been set). I've seen the application work just once (perhaps my blank password worked?) but I've not found my way back into it.

I couldn't find any Email settings in System Preferences, but I was somewhat leery about deleting the account anyway, as I don't know if the newly created account could be associated with the old Inbox. So I archived the inbox. Then I decided to look at the existing Email account settings before deleting the account.
I found there was no outbound SMTP server defined (which may not have mattered, since it is the same as the inbound POP server, but I added the explicit IP name anyway. Nor was a password defined for the outbound server, so I added it.
At this point, all the pending outbound email got sent, and everything else had gone back to normal.
This seems an unsatisfactory outcome, as I'm sure that Fred would never have found his way into the email settings. Not in a million years. But I won't look this gift horse in the mouth.

• How to put a password lock on Mac Mail?, How to put a password lock on Mac Mail?

Is it possible to set up security on my Mac so that Mail cannot be opened without entering an Admin password? If so, how do I do this?

Is there a way to do this?
YES my friend there is away, i do it by myself and it's work well…
Here are the steps:
1. go to "/Applications/Mail " and "get info" for your mail and look how much is size of it.
2. from "/Applications/Utilities" open "Disk Utility"app.
3. from file menu select "Blank Disk Image".
4. Save as: "chose the name you want" I save it as "Mail".
Where: "Better to be on Applications Folder" or in Privet Place on your hard.
Name: "chose the name you want" I name it as "Mail".
Size: set the size Bigger than the size of Mail you take it from "mail info".
Format: Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
Encryption: 128-bit AES encryption.
Partitions: Hard disk.
Image Format: sparse disk image.
5. when you finish Press "Create".
6. Enter the Password You need, be sure to remove the mark next to "Remember password in my keychain".
7. press "OK".
8. you will find new hard disk open on desktop called "the name you chose it before".
9. now copy "Mail.app" to the new hard disk, and remove mail.app to trash but don't empty it. "if you can't delete the app get the info of it and make all the Permissions Names Read & Write" you need Administrator password to open the lock down below.
10. now remove the mail shortcut in Dock and drag the Mail.app you copy it to Dock.
11. now Eject the new Hard disk.
12. open mail from the Shortcut you add… it's will ask you for a Password.
Be sure to Eject the hard disk when you finish from mail.
DONE

• I need the unconfusing way to put a password on a external hard drive, please

it seems the more i look the more confusing things got. basically i have a new hard drive ( g drive mobile usb ) i want to put a password on to it so that if you do not know the password you will not be able to access ANYTHING. it seems like there is either a tutorial on how to put a password on to a 'folder' & when it comes to a 'harddrive' the term 'password' is now 'encrypted' & it just seems like there is a difference in the explanation. also people seem to say "thumb drive" a lot & i know that i am not talking about a thumb drive, i am using a hard drive, maybe it is all the same but nobody is saying so & i don't want to find out that a password on a folder or a thumb drive is totally different when it comes to using a hard drive.
so, how do i put a password onto a hard drive so that when i plug in the usb cable you will next have to type in the password to see anything on the hard drive??
just updated to mavericks by the way

If you want to protect everything on the drive, then you need to encrypt the drive.
Don't store the password in your keychain as that will automatically decrypt the drive when it is connected.
Here is an article written for mountain lion, but I think it is the same for mavericks.
http://m.imore.com/how-easily-encrypt-external-drives-os-x-mountain-lion
Another here: http://osxdaily.com/2012/09/17/how-to-encrypt-an-external-drive-quickly-in-mac-o s-x/
I'm not sure if it is stated directly, but the drive must be partitioned as a GUID partition table.

• Setting password for numbers application

I bought numbers application from apple store.
I want to set up password for " numbers " application like MS office work out on its file.
How can i do for that??
Because my one year old son is playing ipad & dont want to get any accident to my inportant accounts in numbers.
Guide me please!

Unfortunately, you cannotmset up a password for a single app. It is sort of an all or nothing deal. You can wall off some apps using restrictions, but numbers is not one of them. Probably the bestnyou can do is bury the numbers app inside of a folder full of boring stuff that he will have no interest in.
The pad was designed as a single user device.

• Putting a Password on Safari

Hi everyone,
I need to know how to put a password on an administrator account for Safari. I have the administrator account, but I need something to prevent little eyes from browsing the Internet when I'm not home. Does anyone know how to do this? If not is there a way to set a password on my computer so when I boot it up (not logging out, but turning off the computer and starting it again) it asks for a password? Any help on this would be great, Thanks!

Create regular user accounts for the little buggers, then use parental controls to restrict what they can do with the machine. Then, change the admin user account's password and don't give it them. See Finder->Help->Mac Help and search for parental controls and manage accounts.
