How to put a picture/screen shot  on a post in this forum?

How do you put a picture here on a forum page? Others have done it and there are times, like now, when it would be great if I could post and include a screen shot of the problem area.

great question, this would help if we had problems
and could possibly use a picture of the problem to
help solve it. I have seen this done before and now
my curiosity is back again on how to do this.
I hope that someone who knows how to do it will write the answer here. It would go along way to help us describe problems. Lorna in Southern California

Press the Shift, Command, and 3 keys to capture the whole screen.
Press the Shift, Command, and 4 keys to capture a draggable part of the screen, or follow it with the spacebar to capture a window.
Open the PNG on the desktop. Alternatively, combine either of the above with the Control key to put the screenshot onto the clipboard instead of the desktop.

    Premiere Elements 11 Mac.
Best go to the Expert workspace so that you can see what is going on. If you need to use the Quick workspace, then I will point to those directions next.
    Expert workspace
    Video on Video Track 1
Move the Timeline Indicator to where you want the Title placed
Go to Text Menu/New Text/Default Text and click on Default Text
When you do the Titler will open, displaying its Text (opened), Styles, Animation, and Shapes sections.
At the same time, the title will be placed on Video Track 2 at the location of the Timeline Indicator on the Timeline.
When you are finished creating the Title, you have click the "Done" arrows, and the Title is closed, you can always open the Title for more edits in the Titler by double clicking the Title on the Timeline Video 2.
Please review the Creating Titles details in the Adobe document. If you run into any difficulties, please post what they are and we will work through them with you.

    Hi, e8god.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
The option to take apps full screen is still available.  Here are the steps on this feature in Yosemite.
    Take apps full screen
In many apps, you can expand the window to fill your entire screen. While in full-screen view, swipe to see another app’s full-screen window, to see your desktop, or to see a space you created.
Expand to full-screen view: Click the green full-screen button in the top-left corner of an app window, or press Control-Command (⌘)-F.
Move between windows in full-screen view: Swipe left or right on a trackpad or Magic Mouse. For more information, see Learn trackpad and mouse gestures.
Return to standard view: Move the pointer to the top-left corner of the screen, then click the green full-screen button again, or press Control-Command (⌘)-F.
    Take apps full screen
    Cheers,
    Jason H.

How do you do a screen shot with a MacBook Pro?

    Use this keyboard key combination:
Shift + Command + 3 [⇧⌘3]. The file will appear on your desktop as a JPG file (default).

  • How may I make my screen shots default to a .jpg instead of .png

How may I make my screen shots default to a .jpg instead of .png?
    Is there a preference somewhere?

    One easy way is:
    Changing the File Format
In order to change the file format you must firstly open up a Terminal window (Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app), and type the following.
    defaults write com.apple.screencapture type TYPE
For the command to work, you need to replace “TYPE” with a valid file format, the available options are:
    png (default)
    pdf
    jpg
    jp[2 (jpeg 2000)
    gif
    tiff
    bmp
    pict
    tga
Once you have selected your format simply issues the command, placing the file format in it’s space. For example for a JPG, I would issue:
    defaults write com.apple.screencapture type jpg

  • How do you embed screen shots in your posts

I do not mean providing a link to a file store elsewhere - I am subscribed to another thread discussing Numbers spreadsheets and many of the replies have included a screen shot in the post (not a link to an image file stored elsewhere) and I would like to do the same.

    Jonathan Myers wrote:
Sorry but I specifically said I did not want to upload an image to a storage facility...
Jonathon, in your first post in this thread you wrote, "not a link to an image file stored elsewhere." (Emphasis mine.)
We understand now that you meant that you don't want to have to store the file somewhere else, but I read that line as specifying that it be "not a link..." and I imagine the people who answered you did as well. The first part the instructions Ali gave you explain how to embed an image using the <img src="Insert URL Here"> HTML, rather than link to it, and I think she thought that's what you were looking for, as I thought.
As the others are saying, there is no way in these forums to upload an image directly. You must host it elsewhere and then use the HTML Ali explained to embed the image in your post.
I hope that clears things up a little.

How to attach files to the thread we post in this forum?
I’m wondering why there is no feature that allows attaching files from our hard drives! It is not practical to upload our file first in a certain web to provide it as a link in the post.
Is there a way to attach our files directly from our hard drive to the post?
Please, have a look on the screenshot below that shows a forum which includes all the very basic features!

    Pierre,
Just a guess on my part, but I would suspect non-image files in this case.
As Ted points out, that WAS possible early on, and then the capbility to attach non-image files, was actually retained by a certain few forums, though not for long. This change was coincidental with a major spam attack, and at least one disgruntled user attempting to attach some rather nasty "stuff." I do ot know if those events prompted the change, as I was not part of the decision making group, that initiated the change.
Though 95% of the files that I wish to attach, ARE image files, there are times, where a TXT file would be ideal, say for a crash log, or similar. Now, I can convert that TXT to a PNG, but then one has to work with pixel x pixel dimensions, and some files, like those crash logs, can be rather long.
Personally, I find the loss of the Attach File (was via a button at the bottom-left of the editing screen) to be a sad comment on the actions of some, on these forums, but then that just reflects life outside of the forums.
    Hunt
PS - I am glad that you found that little article useful Especially in the PS, PrPro, PrE and Encore forums, screen-caps can tell so very much about what is going on with a person's program, system or their Projects/Images.
