How to put apps on a portable hard drive

I want to sync apps to my computer. I want them off my phone for now. I want to put them back on later. If I manually uncheck the apps I want off the phone then sync, where do those apps go? Can I get them back later?
I need them to go on a portable hard drive so I can pick them up from another computer if necessary. I put all my music on a portable hard drive and take it around from computer to computer and it works great. I want to do the same with apps.

So if I choose one computer to put the apps on, then I can take them on and off my phone from that computer only. Is that correct?
Let's say I sync to the computer leaving off a couple of larger apps but I want to put them back on the phone later. Will I be able to do that or does the sync cause the apps to go away entirely and I'd have to buy them again if I wanted them?

Is it possible to run Adobe CC apps from a portable hard drive on multiple computers?

I work at a university that is not purchasing the Adobe CC license for it's labs. As far as I know Adobe will not create a deal that structures the fees in a way that makes it possible the University to buy into the CC platform.
This puts me a a tough spot as a person who teaches digital media in a University setting. Teaching legacy software (Adobe CS 5) puts our students at an immediate disadvantage.
To get around this issue, I have come up with the idea of having students purchase Adobe CC license short term (or longer if they like) as a textbook. However my lab administrators don't think there is a reasonable way to do this. Right now students would have to log into their User space on the University system, download software each time they came to class. This would not work for many reasons.
Is there a way to make Adobe CC portable, so students can download their own CC software and carry it around with them on a portable hard drive?
Would a system have to be installed on the portable drive or is there a way to run the software from a hard drive using the system on the computer it is attached to?
FYI the students and instructors have have no access to the computer systems, ex administrator or / root, level of the computers. Adding software and/or drivers can take months. Given time , I can get our IT folks to add a limited amount of structure to the system to make it possible for students to use Adobe CC from a portable hard drive if such a solution exists.

Your HDDs are formatted for windows. There is software available that will allow you to use them with your MBP. It has received mixed reviews and you will have to use Google to find it. Perhaps someone else will give you specific information on same.
The other option is to reformat the HDDs to be compatible with your MBP using Disk Utility, but that will erase the user data.

Files on disk have no order - they are given the order by the viewing program - finder on the Mac - using the finder you can view files by many different sorts - file name - date created - date moified - size - etc
Deciede how you are going to sort them when you view them and then export them so that sort works for you
Generally using an alpha sort to view and exporting using the sequential nameing option is the solution - see the user tip on exporting for the options available

Had tech look at it and not worth recovery costs. Can't find a restore disc (made one, just can't find it) since it was pre-loaded, but do have refurb MS sticker with product key. I'm obviously going to replace the hard drive, but wanted to find out how/if I can get the owned refurb Windows OS on it, since all I have is the product key sticker and proof of ownership of the HP system? Answer to question 1 ; using a backup & recovery software to clone my current OS, then transfer to my new hard drive.
Answer to question 2 ; download all the Drivers and software ( all the application that located on the DVD kit that I have) on Lenovo Official Website.
or other solution, send it to a computer service shop and let the experts ( the workers) install it for me ( the most simple and safe way).

How can I reformat my portable hard drive?

I have a Seagate 1TB portable hard drive, connected by USB to my MacBook Pro.
I use it as my Time Machine.
I have been getting error messages saying the drive is not working.
I have tried to repair it via Disk Utility but get this message:

In Disk Utility select that external drive then click the Partition tab. Then select One partition from the Partition Layout drop down and make sure it is set to a GUID partition table, that is under the Options button, and the format is set to Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
Then Click the Apply Button. If the drive is still good it will be partitions and formatted and then can be used for a TM backup drive.
But I suspect either the drive is failing or the electronics in the drive enclosure are failing. In the first case there isn't much you can do about a failing hard drive except replace it. On the second part if the enclosure electronics are failing then you can take the physical hard drive out that enclosure and connect it to your mac with a SATA to USB adapter or put it in another enclosure.
Then you have the simple fact the Apple Mac notebook computers always seem to have a problem with these USB Bus powered external hard drives. It seems the USB port on Mac notebook don't put out enough power on the USB port to fully power up these type of drives. They do some times but not always. One work around for that is to use a Y USB cable that connect to 2 USB ports at the same time to supply more power to the drive.

Switch to the Finder app and open its preferences.
Remove the check mark on the items you don't want displayed in the Sidebar tab.
The originals are not removed from the machine.

Before you have another accident:
Buy a UPS of good quality and sufficient to your needs.
I would have to assume that the drives were connected to a PCI PATA card, hopefully. Otherwise, well RAID and having drives on the same bus (master and slave).
And no backup, none at all...

If they were SATA and running on PCI SATA controller, very popular and common really in G4s, more options would be open.

I've been backing up my MacBook Pro on an external portable hard drive. I need to delete some but not all the files from that portable hard drive permanently. When I highlight them and click to move them to Trash I get a message telling me this cannot be done because they are Read Only files? How do I go about it. You can easily delete files from a Time Machine Backup:

Use the arrows or the timeline along the right side of your screen to browse through the backups Time Machine created.The windows behave just like Finder windows, so you can open folders, click items in the sidebar, and use the search field in the upper-right corner of the window.
