How to put decimal in the substring function

Hi Friends
I am having a input value which is a UDF named GetValue which is mapped with a substring (0,4) which is again mapped to a split by value and then to the target field MENGE
My problem is when value is coming from GetValue and i am mapping it to substring there i want to take the decimals also
forexample let us value coming is 2 than in the substring and then to the target field i want to send as 2.000.
Please help me how it can be done.

Hi Aquarian,
The value which is coming from GetValue UDF, map that to a FormatNumber Function
Use the standard function 'formatnumber' with number format 0.00
double click on 'formatnumber' function in mapping editor to get number format field.
you need not put anything in the 'decimal separator' field.
this function is available in arithmetic set of standard functions.
I believe this should be it.

SAP XI - Using the substring function.

Hi Experts,
I am having trouble using the substring function in SAP+XI. I have to consider the value from characters 6 to 19 for a target field of 25 characters. Every time I ma using the standard substring function it is giving an error Array Out of Bounds Exception.
Please tell me how to proceed.

Hi,
Above error wil come if the input string length is less than the substring length what you are trying to get..
i.e length of the input string is less than 25 characters... do some validations or pass substring as 6 and 0 ..

How to put distinct in the query.I checked in RPD , Distinct supported is already available. I marked the distinct check box in advance option still then i'm not getting distinct in the query.
any idea , please help...

In the RPD i have join between base table and view .i'm selecting 2 columns one from base table and other from view . which gives cartesian product . to avoid that i want to put distinct . I'm not using any measure . I'm taking direct columns.
I'm getting distinct keyword if i'm accessing the report directly . but when i'm accessing it from dashboard in the back end while preparing the query it's writing distinct but the actual query which is sending to db does not have distinct.

There are different templates for iPhoto books and they differ from version of iPhoto to iPhoto, so explore the other options.

Are you manually managing your songs?
In itunes - music do you see checkmarks next to your musis/songs. IF so go find your new songs click on it and then sync your music again.

You can use a ABAP process type and call the program
SAP_AGGREGATES_DEACTIVATE to deactivate the aggregates.

How can I speed up the extract() function queries on XML

Please I need some light on xml and indexes.
This is my case:
I use Oracle 9i R2.
I have a table with some rows containing some few xml documents (each row contains a big xml document).
Given a value for an attribute of a tag, I want to extract the entire section within the tags.
Example:
<MYTAG number="1">
.....big stuff here
</MYTAG>
<MYTAG number="2">
.....big stuff here
</MYTAG>
<MYTAG number="x">
.....big stuff here
</MYTAG>
So for number=2 I would like to extract from the document the xmltype
<MYTAG number="2">
.....big stuff here
</MYTAG>
I created an index and have followed all the steps from the XML Database Developers Kit manual. Then I would use extrac() as the document says.
Now some doubts arised:
Are these text/xml indexes only useful for getting the rowid of my document?
I mean, if I select 'x' from the table looking for some value, then the index is used. But when I use extract in the select to get the section I look for, the query gets really low, specially when xml documents are big. I think when I have only row with one document, getting the rowid is not the problem, but the extraction from the document is.
Is the extraction process faster because of the index?
For what I see, the index only helps me to find the rowid, but then Oracle has to deal with the very big document inside the row. At that point Its oracle against a big text processing and index has nothing to do.
How can I speed up the extraction of the section?
If there any other index or tool for help extraction to be faster?
I would appreciate to know what can I do. I need help on this.

Is there any way i can use the variable in the Like function. That means i have query like
SELECT * FROM Device WHERE DeviceName LIKE %v_MediaName%;
Here "v_MediaName" is the userdefined variable which contains string. I want to retrieve all the records from the "DEVICE" table whose DeviceName LIKE %v_MediaName%;
If i put it in a single quotes '%v_MediaName%' then the v_MediaName will be treaded as a string instead of a variable. I am using this query in a Procedure.
please help me out to resolve the issue.
