How to put image file on client machine through JBOSS

I need to imlement the functionality like google map on website, where my server is JBOSS
server. We used the newest technology SVG(scalable vector graphics) which doesn't loose the
image quaility on increasing the size of the image.
we are doing backend processing of the image and throwing the png images on the client.
machine. I already written a program which can be used at the time of zooming and panning
of the image and can throw the image but that is all PC based. but when I am implementing
on the server it is giving error because code is not getting any output directory to save
the image on sever.
Please tell me if that can be happen through caching or how can I save image on
client machine without user authenication and can retrieve on the web page. so that my
server doesn't have extra load.

    if i have to access or use some files say C:\hello\myimage.jpg from client machine's local drive, how it can be done using some technology in Java eg applets or some other way. please read the following situation to have a better undertsanding of the problem,
    consider the following situation:
    a web application is running on client PC, and on click of a button, i have to generate a report in some format and insert some images in that report which are on clients local drive and their path is known to me say C:\ myimage.jpg.
    if the mages were on the server(where web application is hosted), then its not a prob.
    if there any other technology in java to read files from clients PC through a browser other than java

    hi
    How to get up and running with WebUtil 1.06 included with Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2 on a win32 platform
    Solution
    Assuming a fresh "Complete" install of Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2,
    here are steps to get a small test form running, using WebUtil 1.06.
    Note: Oracle_Home is used as an alias for your real oDS ORACLE_HOME.
    Feel free to copy this note to a text editor, and do a global find/replace on
    Oracle_Home with your actual value (no trailing slash). Then it is easy to
    copy/paste actual commands to be executed from the note copy.
    1) Download http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/jacob-project/jacob_18.zip
    and extract to a temporary staging area. Do not attempt to use 1.7 or 1.9.
    2) Copy or move jacob.jar and jacob.dll
    C:\webutile is the folder where you extracted Jacob, and will end in ...\jacob_18
    cd C:\webutile
    copy jacob.jar Oracle_Home\forms\java\.
    copy jacob.dll Oracle_Home\forms\webutil\.
    The Jacob staging area is no longer needed, and may be deleted.
    3) Sign frmwebutil.jar and jacob.jar
    Open a DOS command prompt.
    Add Oracle_Home\jdk\bin to the PATH:
    set PATH=Oracle_Home\jdk\bin;%PATH%
    Sign the files, and check the output for success:
    Oracle_Home\forms\webutil\sign_webutil Oracle_Home\forms\java\frmwebutil.jar
    Oracle_Home\forms\webutil\sign_webutil Oracle_Home\forms\java\jacob.jar
    4) If you already have a schema in your RDBMS which contains the WebUtil stored code,
    you may skip this step. Otherwise,
    Create a schema to hold the WebUtil stored code, and privileges needed to
    connect and create a stored package. Schema name "WEBUTIL" is recommended
    for no reason other than consistency over the user base.
    Open Oracle_Home\forms\create_webutil_db.sql in a text editor, and delete or comment
    out the EXIT statement, to be able to see whether the objects were created witout
    errors.
    Start SQL*Plus as SYSTEM, and issue:
    CREATE USER webutil IDENTIFIED BY [password]
    DEFAULT TABLESPACE users
    TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp;
    GRANT CONNECT, CREATE PROCEDURE, CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM TO webutil;
    CONNECT webutil/webutil@rcci
    @Oracle_Home\forms\create_webutil_db.sql
    -- Inspect SQL*Plus output for errors, and then
    CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM webutil_db FOR webutil.webutil_db;
    Reconnect as SYSTEM, and issue:
    grant execute on webutil_db to public;
    5) Modify Oracle_Home\forms\server\default.env, and append Oracle_Home\jdk\jre\lib\rt.jar
    to the CLASSPATH entry.
    6) Modify Oracle_Home\forms\server\formsweb.cfg insde [default] add :
    archive_jini=frmall_jinit.jar,frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar
    archive=frmall.jar
    also add :
    [webutil]
    WebUtilLogging=off
    WebUtilLoggingDetail=normal
    WebUtilErrorMode=Alert
    WebUtilDispatchMonitorInterval=5
    WebUtilTrustInternal=true
    WebUtilMaxTransferSize=16384
    baseHTMLjinitiator=webutiljini.htm
    baseHTMLjpi=webutiljpi.htm
    baseHTML=webutilbase.htm
    archive_jini=frmall_jinit.jar
    WebUtilArchive=frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar,f90all.jar
    archive=frmwebutil.jar,f90all.jar
    lookAndFeel=oracle
    7) Modify Oracle_Home\forms\server\webutil.cfg and add :
    transfer.database.enabled=TRUE
    transfer.appsrv.enabled=TRUE
    8) Start the OC4J instance
    9) Start Forms Builder and connect to a schema in the RDBMS used in step (4).
    Open webutil.pll, do a "Compile ALL" (shift-Control-K), and generate to PLX (Control-T).
    It is important to generate the PLX, to avoid the FRM-40039 discussed in Note 303682.1
    If the PLX is not generated, the Webutil.pll library would have to be attached with
    full path information to all forms wishing to use WebUtil. This is NOT recommended.
    10) Create a new FMB.
    Open webutil.olb, and Subclass (not Copy) the Webutil object to the form.
    There is no need to Subclass the WebutilConfig object.
    Attach the Webutil.pll Library, and remove the path.
    Add an ON-LOGON trigger with the code
    NULL;
    to avoid having to connect to an RDBMS (optional).
    Create a new button on a new canvas, with the code
    show_webutil_information (TRUE);
    in a WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger.
    Compile the FMB to FMX, after doing a Compile-All (Shift-Control-K).
    11) Under Edit->Preferences->Runtime in Forms Builder, click on "Reset to Default" if
    the "Application Server URL" is empty.
    Then append "?config=webutil" at the end, so you end up with a URL of the form
    http://server:port/forms/frmservlet?config=webutil
    12) Run your form.

  • How to put image files on fs directory instead of in DB?

    Hi,
    Currently I have logo image file (ie: logo.jpg) in DB. But I want to put it in file system directory for performance reason. So I
    1) put logo.jpg file in BOTH $ORALCE_HOME/apex/images AND $ORACLE_HOME/apex3.2/Apex3.2Download/apex/images (since I did an upgrade to 3.2 and unsure which ApEx location it's exactly).
    2) changed Shared Components -> Application Definition -> Logo -> FROM #WORKSPACE_IMAGES#logo.jpg TO /i/logo.jpg
    And yes, /i/ is defined as an image prefix.
    However, the logo does NOT show up.
    Any idea?
    Thanks much,
    Helen

    First, how are you accessing APEX? Via Embedded Gateway or HTTP Server?
    When put the logo file into the "images" directory, did you do this on the Database Server, or Application Server?
    - If Embedded Gateway, the only way that files are served is through the APEX interface, unless you explicitly path them from a different web server (same host is fine, but different port obviously). It's via Embedded Gateway in 11g db. Currently the image is loaded into database, but I want to change to filesystem.
    So I
    1) put logo.jpg file in BOTH $ORALCE_HOME/apex/images AND $ORACLE_HOME/apex3.2/Apex3.2Download/apex/images (since I did an upgrade to 3.2 and unsure which ApEx location it's exactly).
    2) changed Shared Components -> Application Definition -> Logo -> FROM #WORKSPACE_IMAGES#logo.jpg TO /i/logo.jpg
    And yes, /i/ is defined as an image prefix.
    However, the logo does NOT show up.
    Any suggestions/ideas?
    Thanks,

  • How to write files on Client Machine using JSP

    Hi,
    I am new to JSP. Please tell me how do i write files on Client machine thru a Browser.
    Please let me know at the Earliest.
    Thanks.
    Mehul Dave

    1) Well I find it rather convenient to deploy a web app as just one file rather than a bunch of files. For deployment it's much better. However I prefer using expanded files when developping (to use auto reload in Tomcat for example)
    2) It is a bad idea to upload files inside your webapp's context (ie: in it's deployment directory) because one day an uninformed system administrator might come and redeploy the web app and therefore delete all your uploaded files (believe me, I've already experienced this!)
    What i do usually is upload it in a completely different directory, something like /uploaded_files. Your uploaded files are therefore completely independant from your webapp
    However it is a bit trickyer to get those files back. Let's take the example of image uploads. You have 2 ways of proceeding:
    - the easiest : configure your web server (apache etc...) to redirect a certain url to your external directory. For example the /upload url will point to a /uploaded_files directory. This is easier to do and the fastest way to serve images but not always the best solution: you are dependant on the web server's configuration and you can't control the visibility on your files (no security constraints, anyone can see your uploaded files if they know the url).
    - you can also write a servlet which will load the file as an array of bytes and send it back in the response.
    You can call it this way :
    <img src="/serlvets/showmyimage?path=uploaded.gif">
    in this way you can control your uploaded files better: you may want to define security constraints on the visibity or not of uploaded files depending on the user which has logged on the site.

  • How to find out a file from client machine

    hi all,
    I want to read a file from client machine, like a outlook express file in which all the address are saved, using servlet. Initially i do not know the file path for that file, How i can read that file.
    plz help me
    thanx in advace
    Manish

    You have 2 possibilities. First, you might be able to mount the client's disk drive at the server; the servlet can then access that drive directly. Second, install a client program on the client machine and communicate with that program, and have it do the search (or whatever).
    Outside of Java, there are remote-access programs - like PCAnyWhere.

  • Save image file in server machine from client

    hai
    I am working in swing based applications on linux environment.
    I can able to save the image file from java appln to local directories.
    My doubt is
    how to save that image file in another machine in the same network or in the server machine through java application insead of saving in the local machine.
    if anyone can help me to findout the solution?
    advance thanks,
    Samy.

    The file can be read in the weblayer if it is sent as a mutlipart request. So once u have it i the Webserver u can always send it to the app server by posting it in a location which the app server can read using URL api

    http://www.google.com/search?q=jdbc+blob
    Blob processing varies between databases; see also examples for whatever database you are using, e.g.
    http://www.google.com/search?q=jdbc+blob+oracle
    If you are storing text data instead of binary data, replace "blob" by "clob" in the searches.

  • Open bat file on client machine using webutil

    Hi all.
    I'm on devsuite 10g.
    I want to run a bat file on client machine using client_host function of webutil.
    I have tried first to execute the bat file with mouse double-click in order to check if it is ok, and it works.
    Now I want to execute this file from my form using webutil.
    Here is my code:
    --> with this code I select a file from client machine
    Declare
         LC$Fichier Varchar2(1000):=null ;
         PC$Filtre Varchar2(2000) := '|All files|*.*|' ;
    Begin
         LC$Fichier := WEBUTIL_FILE.FILE_OPEN_DIALOG
         null,
         PC$Filtre,
         'Seleziona un file da caricare'
    If LC$Fichier is not null Then
    :output.apri_file := LC$Fichier ;
    End if ;
    End ;
    --> with this code I execute the file that I have opened
    declare
         cmd varchar2(30000) := null;
    BEGIN
         Cmd := 'cmd /c start "" "' || :output.apri_file || '"' ;
    CLIENT_HOST(cmd);
    END;
    When I execute my form I have this error:

    The answer in NO for both of your questions.
    If I try to drag and drop the file I have error.
    How can I attach an image to this post, so that you can see the error??
    Thanks,
    FabrizioThis seems like a directory or OS level permission issue on the batch file, What is the error you got when you tried drag and drop the batch file in an DOS window???
    I think you need to upload the image to a site and use the markup for the image, include the full URL of the uploaded file between ! (exclamation marks) something like ! http://../post.gif ! without the spaces.

  • Creation of CSV file on client machine with data from forms

    Hi,
    My requirement is to generate a CSV file(or .XLS) on the client machine ie local drive with the details shown in a form.
    Oracle version -
    Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.7.0 - 64bit Production
    PL/SQL Release 11.1.0.7.0 - Production
    CORE 11.1.0.7.0 Production
    TNS for Solaris: Version 11.1.0.7.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 11.1.0.7.0 - Production.
    I have searched the web for last couple of days and got to know that TEXT_IO is to be used to generate files on client machine. However, when I tried TEXT_IO, it was not able to generate the file on client rather it was able to generate on database server. After further browsing on this, there was a link which said that we need to use CLIENT_TEXT_IO to generate file on client side. For this, i was required to subclass the webutil.pll which i did and corrected the code to use CLIENT_TEXT_IO. The form was unable to compile and was not able to find "webutil_core" package.
    I am very confused with the disparity in the information available on the web as in what to use to generate a file on client side. If anyone has use it in the past, can he/she please detail what to use to get things sorted.
    Thanks,
    R

    So, what is your FORMS version. This is more important than your database version.
    My requirement is to generate a CSV file(or .XLS) on the client machine ie local drive with the details shown in a form. Depending on your Forms version, you would use TEXT_IO (if Forms 6i running in Client/Server mode) or WebUtil (if Forms 9i or higher).
    I'm going to guess that you are at least using Oracle Forms 9i since you stated that your attempt at using TEXT_IO produced a file on the DB server.
    There is more to using WebUtil than just attaching the WEBUTIL.PLL. If you had performed a simple search of the Forms Help System would have found numerous WebUtil topics to include: Introduction to WebUtil, Configuring WebUtil, Using WebUtil in Your Applications and the WebUtil User's Guide. If you have Oracle Forms release 10g or higher, WebUtil is included when you installed Forms, however, you do need to configure your installation to use WebUtil and you must download the Java COM Bridge (jacob.jar) from Source Forge. Take a look at the Configuring WebUtil Forms Help topic to find out which version of the Java COM Bridge you will need to download.
    After you have successfully configured WebUtil, take a look at the Using WebUtil in Your Applications topic to find out how to implement WebUtil in a form.
    Searching the Internet for answers is great, but don't forget the look at the Forms Help System because the majority of your questions can be answered there. :)
    Lastly, configuration of WebUtil is primarily done on your Application Server (AS). However, if you plan to perform preliminary runtime testing by running your Form from the Forms Builder, then you will configure your local runtime to support WebUtil as well as configure your AS. The steps are exactly the same. A common mis-step is to skip a step during the configuration because you don't think the step applies. Take a look at the Forms Help Runtime Setup Checklist topic for a list of step you need to complete in order to enable WebUtil.
    Hope this helps,

    You can use cos.jar provided by O'Reilly from http://www.servlets.com/cos/. Take a look at com.oreilly.servlet.multipart.* classes.
    Package is provided with source, classes, documentation and, of course, ready-to-use jar file.
    It is really usefull and - ready!

  • Reading Large data files from client machine ( urgent)

    Hi,
    I want to know the best way for reading large data at about 75MB file from client machine and insert to the database.
    Can anybody provide sample code for it.
    Loading the file should be done at client machine and inserting into the database should be done at server side.
    How should i load the file?
    How should i transfer this file or data to server ?
    How should i insert into the database ?
    Thanks in advance.
    regards
    Kalyan

    Like I said before you should be using your application server to serve files >from the server off the filesystem. The database should not store files this big >and should instead just have a reference to this file. I think u have not understood the problem corectly.
    I will make it clear.
    The requirement is as follows.
    This is a j2ee based application.
    Application server is oracle application server.
    Database is oracle9i
    it is thick client (swing based application)
    User enters datasource like c:\turkey.data
    This turkey.data file contains data
    1@1@20050131@1@4306286000113@D00@32000002005511069941@@P@10@0@1@0@0@0@DK@70059420@4330654016574@1@51881100@51881100@@99@D@40235@0@0@1@430441800000000@@11@D@42389@20050201@28483@15@@@[email protected]@@20050208@20050307@0@@@@@@@@@0@@0@0@0@430443400000800@0@0@@0@@@29@0@@@EUR
    like wise we may have more than 3 lacs rows in it.
    We need to read this file and transfer this to the application server. Which are EJBS.
    There we read this file each row in file is one row in the database for a table.
    Like wise we need to insert 3 lacs records in the database.
    We can use Jdbc to insert the data which is not a problem.
    Only problem is how to transfer this data to server.
    I can do it in one way. This is only a example
    I can read all the data in StringBuffer and pass to server.
    There again i get the data from StringBuffer and insert into database using jdbc.
    This way if u do it. It is performance issue and takes long time to insert into the database.It even may give MemoryOutofBond exception.
    just iam looking for the better way of doing this which may get good performace issue.
    Hope u have understood the problem.

  • How to put picture files and other things on my BB 8703e

    Hello! I know I got a bit of a throwback bb, but I am using it until I can upgrade to a new phone on sprint.
    So, I am barely learning about this bb, so any help or cool uploads and apps I need to add... Please let me know.
    Now I got this app, that will supposedly let me play music files. However, i cannot seem to figure out how to put any files on here when I connect my bb to my computer. When I initially connect the usb it will be like BB connection detected, but it doesn't show a folder or anything...
    Where should i be looking....
    What should I do?

    With the 8707, I believe you will need to visit a website and download the image from there, or from an email you send with the image attached.
    Music or ringtones will need to come from visiting a site with music or ringtones, from the BlackBerry browser.
