How to put music in the cloud

How do i put my first 5gb of phone memory, music in particular, on the cloud to make room for downloads on the device itself

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can't upload music to your iCloud. If you want to have music in the cloud and not on your phone you will need to use iTunes Match or iTunes in the Cloud

  • How to put music in the app

    Hi,
I just installed windows 8.1 on my new PC. The thing is, my OS is installed in an SSD while my other files are on another hard drive. I am having trouble adding music to the music app and picture videos etc....
I tried to put the songs in the music folder stored in the ssd and the music app works. However I would like to put all memory intensive files in the hard drive as my ssd will not be able to accommodate 3000 songs. I've tried the suggestions of the others
by hitting settings in the music app, then click choose Folder where we can get music. If the content is in the hard drive it will not recognize it, but if you put the music files in the music folder located in the ssd it will work.
    Please help.
    Thank you.

how to transfer music from itunes to the cloud not bought on itunes

You cannot yet transfer music from your system to iCloud. That capability will come with iTunes Match, expected any day now though probably not initially in all countries. iTunes Match will also not be a free service.

  • I don't have much space in my ipod, can I put music in the Cloud for my entertainment?

I don't have much space on my iphone so I bought some extra space in the cloud so I could use the space in the phone for business.  My question is can I use some of the cloud space for entertainment, I want to record some music in it?

The only way you can use iCloud to free up space on your device is by subscribing to iTunes Match.  If you do, your music library would be available through iCloud without having to store all of it on your phone.  (See http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/.)
Music and other purchased media is also availble to redownload from the iTunes store (in many countries), however it's best to keep it in your iTunes library if you're going to delete it from your device because it may no longer be available to redownload if you rely on the iTunes store to "store" your purchased media.  (See http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519.)
If you purchased the extra storage by mistake thinking you could use it for this purpose, you may be able to get a refund by calling the Apple online store (1-800-MYAPPLE in the U.S.).

  • How to redownload music from the cloud without waiting 90 days?

So i accidentally downloaded music from MY APPLE ID onto my brother's itunes library. I went back to my own library, was still signed in, and when i tried to download them from the cloud it said I have to wait 90 days because my computer is already associated with an apple id. The only apple id is my apple id, which is what I used to download the music. I shouldn't have to wait 90 days because it's the same exact apple id.
this is so incredibly frustrating, because my brother does not want my music, obviously. Help?

You can try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will remove the association : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • Can you add music to the cloud?

I want to add music with a PC that I am not allowed to put iTunes software on. Can you put music in the cloud for download onto your iPad (2)?

If iTunes does not recognize the music, the iPad won't recognize it either.
If you have music in a supported format: AAC, MP3, ALAC.   You can transfer it to the cloud by subscribing to iTunes match.

  • How do I put my laptop music in the cloud

Have new iPhone 5s and want to put my iTunes music on the cloud. The only music showing is purchased. Have an extensive music library on my Mac computer. How do I upload that music in tithe cloud?

To upload your library to the cloud, you need iTunes Match:

  • How do I put my music in the cloud from iphone

how do I put my music in the cloud from iphone

You can't upload your own music (e.g. copied from CDs) to the cloud on your phone, you can only do that via your computer's iTunes (and if you've subscribed to iTunes Match).
For iTunes store purchases you can delete it from the Music app (e.g. by swiping/dragging from right-to-left across it in the app), but whether it will then show in the cloud for redownloading depends upon what country that you are in, if it's still in the store, and if you've moved countries since buying it. If you've subscribed to iTunes Match and it's been matched, it should show in the cloud.

  • I have Itunes Match and want to know how to put music back into the Cloud after I have downloaded it and finished listening to it. I need the space on my Iphone/Ipad back after I'm finished listening to the music I wanted.

I have Itunes Match and want to know how to put music I have downloaded from the Cloud back in the Cloud for storage after listening to it.

TThis answered my question - thanks very much

  • Since I put my music on the cloud, I cannot access it without downloading each song individually. I thought I was going to be able to stream from the cloud without downloading.

Since I put my music on the cloud, I cannot access it without downloading each song individually. I thought I was going to be able to stream from the cloud without downloading. Each download takes over a minute and I have 2000 songs! How can I just listen to my music again without downloading each and every song??? BTW, I purchased the iPhone 5S hoping that this issue would be solved with more memory - it's not. At this point I just want to remove the whole cloud-thing from my phone and go back to only having the songs on one device, no download required except the original iTunes purchase. How do I do this???

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
It sounds as though you misunderstood the purpose of iTunes Match. You still need to have the content on the device to play it.
However it's effectively no different than before in that you keep your most played content on your phone but are able to download stuff you rarely play should you ever wish to.
There's no value whatsoever in iTunes Match unless your library doesn't fit on your phone.

  • I've just downloaded itunes on a new computer, and I'm downloading music from the cloud, but it seems to stick on certain songs and won't download them at all, stopping at a certain point. How do I get round this?

    Hi all,
I've just downloaded itunes onto a new computer, and I'm currently downloading previously owned music from the cloud. However, it keeps sticking on various songs - it will get part of the way through and just stop, this seems to happen to about 1 in 10 songs. How do I get round this?
Also, once I've finished dowloading from the cloud, how do I get my library to display only the songs I've downloaded, and not all the other ones that I don't want anymore?
    Cheers, Alex

On the new laptop, launch iTunes. From the menu bar click Store / Authorize This Computer.
