How to put music on iPhone 4?

I have the song download on itunes but I can't seem to put them on my iPhone 4. I went to File and I synced my iPhone the purchases transferred but not the music.

Simple..
Drag and drop the folder into iTunes playlist (left side down), then your music folder will appear on the iTunes playlist, again drag from the iTunes playlist and drop inside your phone music (top of the iTunes playlist),
This will appear if you connect your phone by cable only

I have a computer back at home which i originally used with my Iphone 5. Im at college right now and i just bought a laptop, downloaded Itunes 11, and have some music i want to put on to my Iphone but i cant. I just realized that you cannot put music into your Iphone without the original computer you synced it with. Even though i have authorized this laptop; this laptop being the second authorized, cant seem to put music into my Iphone. I then tried to check off the Manually manage music and videos box and it prompted me by saying i have to delete everything in my Iphone and get it synced with the itunes on my laptop in order to put in music and videos. I dont want to do this. Does anyone know another way around this???? I know with an Ipod you dont go through this kind of crap. Any kind of help would be appreciated! My IOS for my iphone5 is 6.1.4. I dont know if this effects anything.

There's the easy way and the hard way. The easy way is to copy the backup that you should have kept of your old computer to the new computer's iTunes (see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527). Then just sync the iPhone. The hard way is to extract the data from your phone. The phone was never intended as a backup device, so you will not get everything back perfectly, but it's as close as you can get. See: Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive

I am stupid and may not see how to put music on iphone

To make my question bit mor clear, I have two accounts on my Mac and each has its own iTunes library with bought content from iTunes store. Each bought content was bought with different iTunes store accounts. And here comes the trouble in my case:
I like to copy a bought album from my iTunes library to the iPhone of my wife. My own iPhone is synced with my library, her iPhone is synced with her library in her Mac account.
As I connected her iPhone to the Mac as I am in my Mac account and tried to put some music to her iPhone, iTunes asked me, if I like to do that, but if I continue, her iPhone will lost all the content from her account and will be synced after then with my iTunes library. Thats was not what I wanted. I liked to add only a album to her iPhone.
Moving over to her Mac account and using in this case the library sharing feature, the content of my library is not selectable in the iPhone sync window.
What wrong with my wish? Did Apple give me the right to use my bought songs on different Macs and unlimited iPods/iPhones?

As I tried some weeks before to convert such a song from the store to another format from m4p, iTunes told me, thats not possible because of digital rights.
If those tracks were not iTunes Plus, they would have the copy protection that would prevent them from being converted. But you may be able to upgrade them to iTunes Plus for a small charge per track (it's 30 cents per track in the US; I don't know what the charge is in Germany). Make sure you're signed into your iTunes Store account and look at the upper-right of the iTunes Store main page under the Quick Links - Alles Auf Einen Klick in the German Store - for an Upgrade to iTunes Plus link (sorry, I'm not sure how it will be phrased in German). If that link appears, click on it and see if the tracks you want to use are listed there; not all tracks were licensed to Apple as iTunes Plus. If they are, then you can buy the Plus versions, which not only have no copy protection but are also of higher quality.

Hello.
I have unfortunately been the victim of a burglary where they stole over £2000 worth of equipment, including my beloved Macbook. I backed up on an external harddrive but at present we can't find it and think this may well have been stolen too. The only place that I have my music is on my iphone 4. Does anyone know how I can get music off of this onto a) an HP laptop (it's my work one) and b) a new macbook - we have insurance but it will take a while for them to replace the item.
I would really appreciate this as my music is trapped on my little iphone and much as I have it I can't update it or do anything to it.
I am not the best with technology so I need a simple step by step guide.

You can transfer iTunes purchases from the iPhone to the laptop.
Launch iTunes on the HP. From the menu bar top of the screen click Store > Authorize This Computer
Connect the iPhone.
From the menu bar again, click File > Transfer Purchases From ...
You can do the same procedure on the new Mac and you will have to "authorize" that computer also.
If you can't locate the external drive, when it's convenient, backup your iTunes purchases > How to back up your media in iTunes

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
To import music into your iTunes library on the computer go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Add items to iTunes and follow the instructions
To sync to your iPod go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod.... and follow the instructions.
