How to put old apps on my ipod touch?

I am so irritated!
I kept getting the same error message when trying to download apps, that I needed to upgrade my operating system.
I just want to get Netflix, Hulu, and Google Chrome on my ipod touch.
I previously had Netflix and Google, before I restored it.
There was no message that said I would not be able to put the apps that were previously working, back on my ipod touch.
An IT person at Netflix said I should look on my computer to see if some of the memory on my ipod got saved on the computer.
How can I do this?
How do I make my expensive Apple product, that is not that old, work?
Even though Apple is going to lose it's customers as they all begin to run into this problem.  Stupid Apple. I will never by another one again!!!
Sorry if this is not greatly explained. I am not a horribly tech savvy person. Mine is an "MC" model.

As I said, please tell us what you can buy in electronics where you will not run into the same problem?
If you do go the Android route (Android and upgrade do not go well together at all) be sure that you buy an external drive and BACKUP YOUR DATA, MUSIC, VIDEO, and ALL OF YOUR APPS. You will eventually run into the same problem and you want to make sure you have access to older versions of the app. The Android world is more wide open and you may be able to find older versions somewhere on the net and be able to download it but because that world is wide open you then take a risk of putting malware on your device.

As a grand parent, how can I put some apps on an ipod touch and then give it as a gift?

Apps and many other purchases are tied to the iTunes Store account via which they were purchased. So if you buy the app, that app is tied to your iTunes Store account. Without that account information, the child could not update the app nor back it up.
I'd also suggest giving the child an iTunes gift card or gift certificate along with the iPod. If the child is too young to have and manage his or her own iTunes Store account, then his or her parent could set up an iTunes Store account to purchase the apps. That could be done with that gift card and not need a credit card. You can also gift specific apps, though again that would require the child or a parent to open an iTunes Store account through which to redeem the gift. For more information on gift options, see:

how can i add apps to my ipod touch 2 with ios 4.2.1

Same way as always. Purchases directly for the App store on the iPod or download on your computer and sync to your iPod. To more easily find compatible apps:
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
    Vintapps 3.1.3 - paid app.
Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.

  • How do I delete apps on my ipod touch?

How do I delete apps on my Ipod touch, it wont give me the little x option to delete them, could it be because my Ipod has restrictions?

To remove the Restrictions passcode you will need to Restore the Device as New...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
You will not be able to perform a backup as this would include the Restrictions passcode... which is what you have to remove...

  • How to install apps purchased from itunes 11 without removing old apps installed from ipod touch?

I recently purchased apps from the app store using my computer (through itunes) and I cannot sync those apps to my ipod touch. Whenever I try to sync those apps I got from itunes, it automatically removes the apps I downloaded directly on my ipod touch. How can I install the apps I got from itunes without removing the apps I downloaded directly on my ipod touch? I hope my question is clear and I hope someone can help me Thanks in advance!

I already use the "Transfer Purchases" function in itunes and sync. And then what happened was when I try to click on "install" on an app I got from the computer, I can see the summary bar of my ipod's memory move. For example, my ipod has 3.23 gb remaining memory and then I try to click on "install" on 1 app then suddenly it moves to 5.21 gb remaining memory.

  • How to sync iphone app to new ipod touch

hi, im new to this. i've been downloading quite a lot of paid apps from iphone 3GS. now i have this new ipod touch. how do i sync the paid apps to my ipod touch?
    thanks

    Welcome to the discussions,
you can use the apps as well if you're using the same account and if they don't use or need features that only the iphone has, for example the camera app or video apps.
Your ipod will be recognized as a separate device and you can set it up as you wish.

  • HT1689 how do I delete apps in my ipod touch? I tried pressing on the app picture, it will start to wiggle but I don't see the "x" sign while wiggling

i want to delete some apps in my ipod touch, how can I do that?

    - You can't delete the apps that came with the iOS.
    - You can set Restrictions to prevent deleting apps. Go to Settings>General>Restrictions to check.

  • How can I get apps for my ipod touch with ios 2.2?

I've been trying to search for games/apps for my iPod Touch but can't seem to find anything that doesn't required iOS 3.0 or greater.
Does anyone have any suggested apps/games for the older gen ipod touch?  Is there a way to search the apps store for these older apps?

If I may ask, why do you not just upgrade your iPod's operating system? Even the first-generation iPod touch can run iOS 3, and the 2nd-generation iPod touch can run iOS 4, though not all features work. Then you would have a much broader range of apps available to you.

  • Can I put purchased apps on both ipod touch and iphone4

I have an ipod touch and am going to purchase an iphone. Can I put purchased apps on both? If so how do I do it? I hate to have to double buy all these apps. The free ones I can download again.

Yes you can unless an app is specifically for the Touch. There are two ways to do when you get your new iPhone:
    - When you first connect your iPhone you should be asked if you want to restore the phone using the backup of your Touch. I got that option when I already had a iPad and then bout a 4G Touch. The backup will get you all the applicable app together with there data.
    - Do not restore from backup and instead check in iTunes the apps you want on the iPhone. However, only the apps themselves will be on the iPhone not any data in the apps that were on the Touch.

You can't download or sync applications which require iOS 4.3 or above onto that iPod, or update it to iOS 4.3 or newer.

Same way as always. Go to the App store app and select one compatible with your iPod and purchase it. Many app require iOS 4.3 or later and will not install on on a 2G iPod since a 2G can only go to 4.2.1

  • How do i transfer apps from my iPod Touch to my iPhone

My friend is upgrading to the iPhone 4 and is giving me his iPhone 3G, what I want to know is, once he has reset it to factory so that is needs to be plugged into iTunes to work, can I just plug it in and sync my apps over? and how do I do this without losing the data on them?

You can restore the iPhone 3G from the backup of your iPod Touch and "most settings" will transfer.
From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414, "If you upgrade or otherwise replace your device with a newer device, you may be able to restore the previous backup to the new device....You can upgrade one device with the backup from a different type of device; most settings will transfer to the new device."
None of the app data is stored in the app itself, but in the iPhone or iPod backup.
