I am trying to put a song on my I phone as my ringtone.I already have the song on the phone dont know how to load it for my ringtone.I need some help.

Did the ringtone come as an attachment? If so just save the file. If you downloaded it when you opened the email it should be in your downloads.

Hello, there is no ringtones folder in the iTunes library. You can simply drag your rigtone files(.m4r) into your main music section. They should automatically be recognized as Ringtones.

How to move ringtones to new phone?

I recently got an iPhone 5S, but did not move my ringtones at the time of purchase. I still have them on my Windows laptop, but cannot figure out a way to get them on the new phone. I pushed them up to the iCloud, I added them to iTunes (on my laptop), but don't "see" them on my phone.
What's the process? I realize this is probably pretty easy, but Google and other searches have not revealed the answer. Perhaps I am phrasing the question wrong.
Any help is appreciated. I am NOT a macophile. Though I've had an iPhone for several years, I've not become exactly proficient (I remember that the original creation and use of these family-specific ringtones was a struggle, which I'm trying to avoid re-engaging). Thanks

You need to sync via iTunes - connect the phone and then rather than being under music, they will be stored under Tones, so just click on Tones and sync and then you will see you ring tones and just sync that and they will appear on the phone.

Hi everyone! I got the Samsung Reality, and -sadly- the Data Package that is requiired to go with it. I don't have any texting plan, but I want to use a custom ringtone (from my computer). I know we can send a text message to ourselves using free websites such as Ventones, but that would mean i have to pay for the picture Text message because I have no texting plan.
Is there another way I can get custom ringtones onto my phone without sending a text message or downloading them from the APP? There are some korean ringtones I found online that I would like to use on my phone.
I was dissapointed that the songs I put onto my phone could not be used as my ringtone. Could I email myself with an attachment of the song file (usually 30~35 seconds long), and set it as my ringtone? Picture messages without a texting plan are 25 cents each. Better than the $1.99 or $2.99 from the online store....
Attaching to an email would not work as mobile email does "do" attachments.
Sending to your online album will use text messages, I believe. Better to use a micro SD card, save to the card, and transfer them to your computer that way.

If you bought them on your iPad then you will need to connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over to the Tones part of your computer's iTunes library and you can then sync them to your iPhone - ringtones are a one-time only download, so you won't be able to redownload them directly on your phone.

Create a parent folder on your computer to store the named folders of photos that you want transferred to your iPhone. Under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, select the parent folder. All named folders of photos within will be transferred to your iPhone as separate folders or albums.

I'm using the correct iTunes account on both my computer and phone. In the iPhone view of iTunes on my computer, it shows that my phone recognizes that I had those ringtones, but there is an exclamation mark showing that my phone can't find the files. I can't delete these "placeholders" from my phone with the hopes of re-transfering the files back to the phone, either. I cannot just simply re-transfer the files from my computer back to the phone. It won't let me using the regular synch options and I can't find anything in the menus of iTunes to help me out either.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Copy the iTunes folder from the disk to the Mac, and the iPhone backup to the right place on the Mac (Google for "iphone backup location"). Then when you restore you can reload the last backup.

iTunes and Apple's devices work as an ecosystem. iTunes is designed to sync with Apple's products, not anyone else's. You'll need your songs in a format compatable with the Samsung phone and to use the software transfer program supplied/recommended. It is essentially not an Apple/iTunes problem. You may have better luck finding the information you need on Samsung's forums.
