How to put videos from itunes on ipad

I just got an ipad mini.  When I plugged it in to my macbook it says that the ipad needs updated 10.7 itunes.  For some reason I can't seem to figure out how to update itunes on the ipad.  I really want to transfer some movies from itunes on my macbook.  Please help!

It's iTunes on your computer that needs to be updated.

How to transfer video from computer to ipad?

Does the video meet the format requirements?
Pad2, the new iPad Supported Video Formats & Movie Formats
    H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
    MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

Currently, iMatch is turned off on my computer, as I do not want to upload any more songs. If I turn it on, will it upload all songs that are currently in my library? Is there another way that deleting them one by one?
You must enable iTunes Match on the new computer. The best way to accomplish what you want to do is to create a new, empty library by launching iTunes while holding down the Option key (Shift on Windows) and choosing "new library." Do not let iTunes scan for new content, but do enable iTunes Match on the empty library. Once the scan is finished you may delete tracks from the cloud. When you are done switch back to the main iTunes library.

  • Rented video from iTunes for iPad but video is missing?

Rented video from iTunes for iPad but video is missing? Can anyone help

You're sure that it completely downloaded? There may be a downloads button at the bottom on the right side of the iTunes Store app if the movie did not finish downloading.
Did you look in there to make sure that it fully downloaded?
You can also search for it. Swipe down from the middle of the home screen to get to the search field at the top of the screen. Type in the name of the movie and see if it shows up. If it appears, you can tap on it and it will begin to play but that will also start the 24 or 48 hour timer that you get to watch a rental once you start it.
If you are not ready to watch the movie, don't tap on it. But if it shows up in the search, you know it's on the iPad so the next thing that I would do is reset the iPad and then look again in the videos app.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • How to put movies from iMac to iPad and use iMovie

I have enjoyed using iMovie on the Mac to create "Trailers" of my family movies. I purchased iMovie for iPad and there are some new interesting "Trailers", different from the ones on the Mac. So I'd like to try them out.
But I cannot figure out how to move .MOV files onto an iPad. (Ironic, I know). Here are the things I've tried.
    1. I tried a straight drag and drop when the iPad was connected, from Finder window to iPad on the Device. No go.
    2. I tried to create an iTunes playlist of the movie, which works fine on iTunes on the Mac. but
          a. It won't show up on iTunes on the iPad, even after making sure it was supposed to be synced and checked
          b. It won't show up in iMovie on the iPad
    3. I tried to put it into iPhoto on the Mac, and made an 'album' with it. It won't show up on the iPad even after careful syncing.
As a test, i recorded a few seconds of video on the iPad, and of course it works fine. But the videos I am interested in turning into Trailers are movies I have already recorded of my family. "Gee, Wally, isn't there a way to do this?"
Is there any way to put a video from iMac to iPad?

additional info: I found some hint that the iPad can't take just any old movie format, so I used "Convert to format for iPad", an option i had never seen on iTunes on my imac before. But sadly, even the .m4v format of the movie will not show up on the iPad under iTunes nor under iMovie.
I can certainly take an iPad iMovie trailer to the iMac if I 'finish' it, but it is a final a product, so i would have to break it up into all the little sections again.
So I still cannot seem to move a movie file to the iPad iMovie edit window. All my 'finished' iMovies show up under "movies" on the iPad, but never under the iMovie edit window. Hope that's clear.
I want to use those new trailers with my home video.
    NEWEST Update, still no joy
I found this tech article http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4792 that says i can move an iMovie from iOS to iMovie on my Mac. I followed the steps exactly, but iMovie on teh Mac does not recognize the iMovie Trailer, so the Import button stays grayed out.
    so close.

  • How to delete video from iTunes library

Hello, I've only had my ipod for a few weeks now. I've finaly figured out how to rip dvds/encode them, etc. During this trial and error period I was putting all kinds of junk in my itunes library.
My question is how to remove videos from my itunes library.
    ..one more question.
I've been using a dvd ripper and video converter made by Xilisoft. After I import the movie from my pc to itunes video library and ipod, I've noticed that the audio doesn't match up with the video. Its like watching a poorly dubbed kung fu movie. Has anybody used Xilisoft software and had the same problems? If so, what did you do to recify the problem?
Thanks in advance for any help.
    self-built   Windows XP Pro

OK, I finally figured it out. I still don't have the clear option available. I had to double click on video, highlight, then press delete.
I'm curious why I don't have a clear option like I do in library.
Oh well, at least I can delete old files from my itunes now.
    Thanks for the quick responses.

  • Cannot synch mp4 videos from itunes to iPad with current verion of iOS 6

mp4 videos will not transfer from itunes to ipad 3 with the latest iOS6.

UPDATE:  I backed up my phone, wiped it (Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings), & then restored it through iTunes.  For whatever reason, that seems to have fixed the problem.  Movies now sync to my phone like they used to.
That process seems to have corrected 1 or 2 other minor issues, including one where iTunes was 'syncing artwork' for a long time on every sync.

  • Problems transferring video from iTunes to iPad

Can anyone help with transferring video from iTunes across to an iPad. This has worked smoothly in the past but now nothing seems to transfer across. Within iTunes on my computer, I've opened the iPad and chosen a new movie to transfer (ticking the box adjacent to the film). There apperas to be plenty of space left on the iPad (currently 3.98GB) .Then I've clicked Sync. At the top of the iTunes window, the iPad is shown as syncing (very quickly) but when I check on the ipad, the movie hasn't transferred.
Next, I've disconneceted the iPad from iTunes and restarted it - I've also tried restarting within iTunes - then reconnected to my computer and tried a fresh Sync. Same problem; the movie won't transfer. On the list of movies shown in iTunes as being on my iPad, the new movie shows up (albeit in grey - so not loaded). As it's not displaying in videos on the iPad, I can't delete it to start afresh.
    Any suggestions welcome....

Thanks for the link. As noted I've managed the transfer on many occasions before, but for some reason the iPad and iTunes no longer feel like syncing. I did finally manage the transfer by restarting the computer (as well as the iPad) then trying to Sync the iPad. It shouldn't be such an issue however!
With regard to the home sharing, point taken but my wifi doesn't reach the room where I want to watch the movie on the iPad. This option doesn't work for me...

  • How to transfer videos from laptop to iPad

How do I import videos from MacBook Pro to an iPad mini?

If you normally sync with iTunes, import those videos into iTunes and then use iTunes to sync them onto your device.
Another option, depending on file size, you can use something like dropbox, upload the videos into dropbox, then download them into your iPad.

  • How to put video from camera onto itouch

Hi. How do I transfer video/movie files taken with my camera, from My Pictures to my itouch? I've tried opening them with itunes, but no success. I've also put them in a folder and tried to sync with photo folders. Again no success. Obviously I'm not doing something ..... but don't know what!! Any advice? Thanks

Hi .. I've downloaded videora, and it works well ... in spite of the watermark .. .
The problem with converting the video with itunes is that I can't get the video INTO itunes until it has been converted. Anyway, videora converts them quickly, but they're only short clips ... I certainly wouldn't convert hours of video!

  • Videos from iTunes to iPad disappear, only iCloud download

The problem that I am having is that after I have synced TV episodes that I have purchased and downloaded from iTunes to my iPad, the episodes later are not on the iPad, and instead require downloading from the cloud again to watch.  This is a problem when I am traveling outside the US.  I have tried all I can think of:  While connected to iTunes, deleting the episodes and then resyncing them.  The episodes are on my iPad, ready to go.  Then a few days later, when I'm on a plane or overseas, the episodes aren't there, requiring download again from the cloud, which isn't possible in these locations.  I have even tried to copy these episodes into another iPad app to view them, but the restrictions on the iTunes videos means they aren't viewable even though they are on the iPad.  Why are the episodes removing themselves from my iPad, and how can I keep them there and available?  Thanks!

Not to worry >>> i have found the issue an solved the problem

  • How to upload videos from imac to ipad

Hi guys, i have to learn a lot about iCloud, but i dont know how to upload my videos from my iMac via iCloud to my iPad, I have some clips like 7minutes durations 612mb, but what application i have to have to use, or where i have to go to drag and drop it? thank you.

You can only add videos to iCloud if you add them to a shared stream, and if they are 5 min. in duration or less.  To add longer videos, import them to iTunes by opening iTunes on your computer, going to File>Add to Library then navigating to the videos.  Then connect your iPad to your computer, open iTunes, click on the name of your iPad in iTunes, go to the Movies tab of your iTunes sync settings, check Sync Movies and check the videos you want to sync, then click Apply at the bottom to sync.
