How to put windows 7 on mac using bootcamp?

i have a 2010 macbook air and an imac, i dont mind which windows 7 is on. i have a 4 gb usb, 4.7 gb disks and a downloaded (its not from microsoft) copy of windows 7.iso. macbook air has about 25gb of space left and imac over 3000gb. i need to know how to put windows 7 on bott camp with either machine.

Use the BootCamp Aaistant, located in your Applications> Utilities folder. It will walk you thru the installation steps. howeve, once you get to the Windows installation step the Windows installer will check with MS if you have a legitimate copy.

How i can start with windows 8 using bootcamp?

When booted under MacOS, you can go to the System Preferences and select your "Startup Disk".  This will allow you to indicate which partition you want your computer to boot from normally, or on just the reboot that you are initiating at that time.  If you have already installed the Boot Camp Utilities under Windows, you can do similar from the tray icon that it loads.  If you boot your Mac from teh Recovery Partition, one of the menu options is to specify the Starup Disk.  You have many options to choose from.

  • Trying to install windows on Mac using bootcamp, but windows won't install?

I've been working tirelessly on installing a burned to disk windows 7 on my MacBook Pro using bootcamp. Everything worked fine, I booted up windows but the problem was that it wouldn't install at all and just told me that the disk may be corrupted or missing? I noticed the disk was scratched so I reburned it to another disk. When I went to restart the Mac to boot up windows and try the installation again, a message came up saying: "NTFS - 3G could not mount /dev/disk0s4 at /volumes/untitled because the following problem occurred: dyld: library not loaded/ usr /local/libfuse.2dylib referenced from: /usr/local/bin/ntfs-3g reason: image not found." Could this be saying something about the disk? Is there an easy way to just install the **** thing?? In really tired with this, thank you do much for any help.

  • How to install Windows 7 Enterprise using Bootcamp ?

    Hi,
I'd like to install Windows 7 entreprise edition on a macbook pro 15" Early 2011 using Lions latest version.
I have an orginal CD and also an ISO file.
    I tried this:
    - insert the original DVD, start bootcamp, downloaded the drivers and restarted the macbook.
--> nothing happened, the screen became black with a blinking underscore. (I tried this for more than 10 times now and it's still the same).
So, I just thought it was the DVD and I wanted to boot on a Flash drive using the ISO file I have.
I started bootcamp but the "Create a windows 7 install disk" is greyed and I'm not able to go further.
Has anyone a solution or idea ?
    Thanks
    Jean-Gabriel

Burns need to be at slowest reduced speed 2X
Your DVD (they don't come on CD anymore since Vista) should have worked if it was shipped as physical media.

  • How do i convert my music and pics over from windows to mac using a external hard drive.

New mac user.  How do i convert my files from windows to mac using external hard drive.  I am using a Seagate freeagent go flex.

leave as is and add NTFS driver to write to the drive / migrate maybe / reading NTFS drives isn't always perfect, some times external drive case has trouble mounting or staying mounted and suffers slow copy speed after awhile or with large files which is why I suggest Paragon NTFS for Mac OS X.

  • How can I turn my Mac using iTunes into an alarm clock?

Here's my question: How can I turn my Mac, using iTunes, into an alarm clock?
I want to be able to put my Mac to sleep but have it set up so that when it wakes up at the predetermined time iTunes will open and start playing the music I've selected....
    A "musical alarm clock"...
A friend suggested using the Energy Saver option in Sys. Preferences to wake the computer at the right time. He said that then I could use iCal to start iTunes. I would then have to use an Apple Script to get iTunes to play the song I want.
But is there a SIMPLER way to do this? Are there any programs out there that do this already??
    Thanks for any help....

I recently got a copy of AlarmClock Pro from MacWorld UK. It is shareware, I think it is (USD?)19. I haven't had a chance to try it out much, but it does look quite good. I have an older version. The latest version looks even better.
I'm sure there's plenty of freeware apps out there. You might also want to try looking here for an applescript here Doug's AppleScripts for iTunes

How do i upgrade a mac using 10.5.8 to Lion?

No. You cannot download Snow Leopard. You can only download an updater for Snow Leopard after it's been installed. You need to purchase the DVD to make that first installation of Snow Leopard.

  • If I install Windows 7 & Office using Bootcamp in my Mac Air

If I install Windows 7 using Bootcamp in my Mac Air , van I also installed Office in the windows partition?

I'm not completely sure I'm understanding your question.  If you install Windows 7 via BootCamp, when you boot into Windows 7, your MacBook Air will work exactly like a Windows PC.  You can install Office or any other Windows application.  As there is no optical drive, the easiest method is to download Office directly from Microsoft.  You can also use Remote Disk to use the optical drive on a different machine:

  • Problem installing Windows 7 64bit using bootcamp

    Hello all,
I am sorry to ask a question that has probably been asked many time. It almost three days that I am browsing all possible forum but I have not been able to find the solution to this particular problem.
I am trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on a 27" iMac (late 2009) with Mountain Lion operating system. So, let's start from the beginning. I have used BootCamp assistant to partition my hard drive following all the possible official instructions on how to install Windows using Bootcamp. The Bootcamp Assistant successfully partitions my drive, the computer restarts automatically and the windows 7 installation starts correctly using the inserted DVD. The windows installation goes on perfectly, the computer restarts a couple of times but after the last restart I see the "Windows starting" window than my screen goes black and nothing happens anymore.
After some research I found some instruction on hoe to download the Windows drivers on a USB key and I followed all the steps suggest her . The problem is that I can't even get to the point where I can install my drive from the USB because I have never been able to actually complete the Windows installation. I tried rebooting the the Boot Manager but my Mac does not see my USB drive (Sony 8gb).
Can someone please help me? This issue is driving me nuts and I really need to urgently use Windows.
Many thanks to all for the help, in advance

The Mountain Lion Windows Support drivers are available from within Boot Camp Assistant as a download. Start Boot Camp Assistant and select the option to download the Windows Support Software. Follow the instructions for saving the downloaded support software. When you boot into Windows make sure the device containing the drivers is inserted into a usb port and your Windows dvd is not in the computer. Windows will boot from your installed Windows on your hard drive and it will install the support software from the usb tick.
You should visit the Boot Camp forum where installing Windows and the Windows Support Software is explained in hundreds of posts.

  • How to eliminate windows partition created with bootcamp

Instrucdtions for how to eliminate a windows partition created with bootcamp.  thanks

Go back and reread and open the application you used.
though most Mac Pro owners choose to dedicate a drive to Windows.
Even Disk Utility will remove and then stretch the adjoining partiton it is best to use Boot Camp Assistant.
Best place to ask, Boot Camp forum, of course.

  • Encrypt Windows partition when using Bootcamp

Hi, I installed Windows 7 64bit with Bootcamp on Mac Book Air. I need to encrypt only Windows partition.
    I googled and I couldn't find a clear answer.
    How can I do this?

You asked for some examples, I provided them.
That does not mean that I think this is a good idea. It is very likely that to get this to work you will need to remove OS X entirely, if you take a chance and leave it on the presence of the encrypted pre-boot partition used by the encryption software will take you above the safe limit for the number of partitions (4).
    Good luck.

  • How to reinstall Windows 8.1 on Bootcamp?

I am trying to reinstall Window 8.1 on Bootcamp after Disk Utility reported that the hard drive it was originally located on was failing and needed to be replaced. I did so. Now when Windows 8.1 installer launches, it thinks I'm doing an upgrade and insists that I "reboot Windows Normally" and then launch the Installer, which is impossible because it's freshly formatted, NEW hard drive.
Here are the steps that I followed:
    1) Disk Utility reports that Boot Camp drive is failing and replace it.
    2) Remove failing hard disk, replace with new one.
    3) Launch Bootcamp Assistant.
    4) Download support drives to USB stick.
    5) Begin install process using same Windows disk (64-bit FULL VERSION) used previously.
    6) Windows Installer asks for Product Key.
    7) I enter product key.
    8) WIndows asks to agree to license terms.
    9) Setup presents ONLY two choices:
         Upgrade Installation
         Custom Installation
    10) I choose Upgrade.
    11) Windows Setup reports that Upgrade can only take place from Windows environment, to eject Windows Install disk, and to reboot into Windows "normally." Cannot eject Windows install disk. Click Close box.
    12) Windows Installer relaunches.
    13) Install process starts over again.
    Please note:
    1) This is a fully licensed copy of Windows 8.1
    2) I am using it on the same Mac as the original installation. Only change is the hard drive.
    3) This is not an authentication issue. Windows accepts the Product Key.
    4) Parallels is not involved in any way.
I have talked to several Windows support teams. None were helpful and ultimately said this was a Bootcamp/Apple problem
Apple Support was much more helpful but said they'd never encountered this problem before and were flummoxed.
I have reformatted the Bootcamp hard disk several times. At one point I thought the issue might be that the Mac still thinks the original Windows installation exists because I kept the same name for the new hard disk. Renaming and reformatting did not change the behavior.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

I wound up solving, or at least working around my problem. Selecting "Custom Install", instead of Upgrade, took me to a dialog box where  Installer could format the Bootcamp drive from scratch. Installation then proceeded as expected. Unfortunately this cost me my partition, but that was better than being stuck in this Upgrade Catch-22. Note that formatting and partitioning this drive within the Boot Camp assistant did not solve my problem.
