How to put wireless card in Monitor Mode?

In linux, I would use iwconfig or wlanconfig for that. But in Leopard there's no iwconfig. So is there an ifconfig command for this or what?

The same way you would any other model. Hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons for exactly 10 seconds, until the screen goes black, then release SLEEP but continue holding HOME (if an Apple logo appears you have held too long; start over). While holding HOME connect the phone to your computer, and don't release HOME until iTunes recognizes the phone.

    Hi,
Are you referring to restricted mode? If yes, please see these links/docs.

The impact is none of the users will be able to connect to the database/application (except for the sys user which can connect to the database). Usually, you would need to put the database in restricted mode when doing upgrade/migrate (i.e. you do not want to have active user sessions in the database during that time).
    Thanks,
    HusseinHi
    i want to mean:
ALTER SYSTEM QUIESCE RESTRICTEDThe ALTER SYSTEM QUIESCE RESTRICTED statement may wait a long time for active sessions to become inactive. You can determine the sessions that are blocking the quiesce operation by querying the V$BLOCKING_QUIESCE view. This view returns only a single column: SID (Session ID). You can join it with V$SESSION to get more information about the session, as shown in the following example:
select bl.sid, user, osuser, type, program
    from v$blocking_quiesce bl, v$session se
where bl.sid = se.sid;I suspect all apps user can.t login to db?

  • How to put the form in Query mode

    Hello
Please let me know how to put the form or block in Query mode , so that when i run the form it should be in Query mode . I have seen properties of SET_FORM_PROPERTY and SET_BLOCK_PROPERTY but cannot find one
    Thanks

QUERY mode? Did you mean, that you can only QUERY without changing data.
This is the QUERY-ONLY-mode, which can be started e.g. call_form
this is the help for that topic:
    PROCEDURE CALL_FORM
    (formmodule_name VARCHAR2,
    display NUMBER,
    switch_menu NUMBER,
    query_mode NUMBER,
    data_mode NUMBER,
    paramlist_name VARCHAR2);
    query_mode
NO_QUERY_ONLY (The default.) Form Builder will run the indicated form in normal mode, allowing the end user to perform inserts, updates, and deletes from within the called form.
QUERY_ONLY Form Builder will run the indicated form in query-only mode, allowing the end user to query, but not to insert, update, or delete records.

Did you solve the issue with the help the people above provided?
If you mean server draining feature you can also check Topology option on Lync Server Control Panel, on Topology interface, click “Action” and there is an action called “Prevent new sessions for service”.
Here is a similar case may help you:

  • How to change wireless card locale?

I'm unable to connect to router, which is set to channel 12 or 13. So I start googling and I found out that in the US and Canada, approved channels are 1-11 but in Europe it is 1-13.
I check my wlan adapter on MB Air and wireless card locale is set to USA!
Is it possible to change wireless card locale to Worldwide?
    Thanks, David

The location on your Mac should be set by the same time zone used for the Mac's clock. (you don't say where in the world you are)
You have to log into your router to change the country/ area channel for the router.

  • Don't know how to configure wireless card for internet

hi i just move to a new place, and i do not know how to set up my mac for wireless connection. i was given the basic information for the internet to work, and it works for my pc but not on mac. i was given
    Network Name (ESS-ID or SSID)
    WEP Key Type (Encryption type)
    WEP Key Format
    WEP Key
where do i go to fill in these info for internet?
please teach me what i m missing for i m not familiar with network. thank u.

Airport is what Apple's trade name is for 802.11 wireless. If you have wireless in the computer, you have Airport. To see if you have Airport, on your menu bar, go under the  and choose "About This Mac." Click on "More Info." About midway down the list on the left, you'll see "Airport." Click on it. That will tell you whether you are wireless-capable or not.
If you do not have Airport, you will need to tether up to the router directly using an ethernet cable if you want internet access or else upgrade the computer with an Airport Extreme card.
If you do have Airport, on your menu bar, go under the  and choose System Preferences > Network >Show: > Airport>. Click on Network. If "locked," click on the padlock (lower left corner) to authenticate. Once authenticated, click on Show: and choose Airport. Click on Advanced (lower right corner). Click on "+" below "Preferred Networks" window. Answer the questions that you are asked, which will cover those four items (SSID and WEP info).
(Texas Mac Man: that link points to a guide for the Airport Express stand-alone wireless access point using /Applications/Utilities/Airport Utility, not for how to configure your Mac's built-in Airport Extreme card via System Preferences > Network. I could be wrong but I think annie.ryu is wanting information to configure the computer's Airport/Airport Extreme card via Sys Prefs' Network panel)

  • How to put MBA in 'Safe Sleep' mode.

How do you put MBA in Deep Sleep 'Safe Sleep' mode? I have been reading many postings here and on the internet and am not getting a definitive answer. The whole topic seems to be rather confusing. Does someone have a simple answer in achieving hibernation sleep on the MBA?
Maybe someone has an example of what they are doing and how they are doing it?
Thanks and I look forward to your replies.

The best I found was using this program: http://blog.kaputtendorf.de/2007/08/17/hibernation-tool-for-mac-os/
I've placed it on my dock and use it when I want to hibernate. I liked the machine's default sleep behavior on the closing of the lid so I did not want to change it.
However, I found that the rebooting is actually faster than hibernation. It takes about half the time to boot than it takes while waking up from hibernation/deep sleep. I compared it with no applications running, which tells me why Apple did not put Deep Sleep in their menus because it is poorly implemented and does not get you the same advantages, which say as you'd have, on a Windows platform.
For example, before Mac I was using a Windows based laptop computer and waking up from hibernation was a big difference in life. My machine would come out from hibernation in 15-20 seconds - compared to 75-90 seconds it took to boot. Waking up from Sleep was comparable to Apple but the battery would be drained much quickly so I never used it for longer 'off' periods. Here my MBA loses about 1.5% of its charge every hour during sleep, so I don't mind leaving it sleeping if I know I'll be charging it the next day.
Since Mac's boot time is quite good so probably it'd make more sense to use sleep during the working hours and shutting it off overnight. Hibernation as a practical option does not exist for me if it takes longer than booting.

  • How to put itunes in 64 bit-mode??

I recently downloaded Mavericks and when I try to open itunes on my computer, it states that I have to run it in 64-bit mode. It gives me instructions on how to change my itunes from 32 to 64 bit-mode by going to itunes on Finder, clicking "get info" and unchecking 32 bit-mode, but once I got to the "get info" step, there wasn't an option anywhere to uncheck the 32 bit-mode box!
Is there another way I can update my itunes to 64 bit-mode?? I can't even open my itunes without this message popping up!

Open About This Mac from the Apple Menu. Check that you really are running 10.9.1.
Drag iTunes to your Trash, then download and install again. The link is in the previous post.

    Hi
There is no option like that. It's as same as keeping normal database in restricted mode.
    alter database enable restricted session;
    and end with
    alter database disable restricted session.

  • HELP! Need to put iPod touch in Recovery mode...

My brother has an iPod touch (don't know which version but it's about 1 year old) and has forgotten the passcode for it.
Unfortunately, we're now using a new installation of Windows (and hence, iTunes too) so we cannot resore it by plugging into it's "home PC".
I have seen a few tutorials on how to put the iPod in Recovery mode, but none have worked. Does anyone have any suggestions? HELP PLEASE!

Try this program.  There are others too.
