How to quit a imessage conversation

With iMessage you can now text with many people in just one conversation, it's easy to talk but how you quit now ?

****. I mean thanks! Its makes sens, they all simply text you.. Now lets try to ask 13 young boys to start a new conversation without me and stop their stupid young boys things. But...Maybe in the next upload, they should do a simply button : quit this conversation / stop receiving from this group.

  • How do I start an iMessage conversation?

I updated my iPhone to the new iOS software. I can't figure out how to start an iMessage conversation. And there is no iMessage app. Help me figure this out!!! Thanks

    That's what I've said.
iMessage uses different path to get to its destination. iMessage uses Wi-Fi (hence I mentioned iPod Touch since it will make it clear that no 3G is involved). iMessage without the Wi-FI connection will be just SMS texting and it has nothing do with iMessage. (iPod Touch cannot do SMS) It a fine distinction.
    Here also some apple links
    http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/built-in-apps/messages.html
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3529
In this link see the bold and unterlined text
Note: On iPhone, if iMessage is unavailable, the message may be sent as SMS or MMS, depending on content. Carrier messaging rates may apply. You can turn this on or off in iPhone at Settings > Messages > Send As SMS. Messages sent using iMessage will appear in a light blue bubble, while messages sent using SMS or MMS will appear in a green bubble.

  • IPhone 6 - Printing iMessage Conversations

    Hello,
I am interested in printing a conversation in iMessage that was started in October 14, 2014. It is currently on my iPhone 6.
I understand how to print an iMessage conversation via a MacBook Pro, but do not know how to do so from a phone.
If I log into iMessage on my MacBook Pro, how can I retrieve the history of the conversation that is stored on my iPhone. (I'm pretty sure my iMessage might be backed up by iCloud!)
Please let me know as soon as possible.
    Thanks,
    mladha

Thank you so much! I will definitely check it out later on my Mac!

  • TS2755 retrieve imessage conversation

So I have an iphone 5 which cost me a lot of money.  We have an ipad, 3 ipods (one being the new 5 which costs $279.00 plus tax) and nowhere can I find out how to retrieve an imessage conversation which was cleared in error.  Well, I did a google search and found help, yes I saw my conversation, it was all there but to go any further I have to buy the activation to have it, total being $90.00.  Pretty sure that I have enough $$$$ invested that surely Apple can resolve this issue for me, obviously it can be retrieved, because this program worked but why should I pay for it?  Can apple not help me out?  Very frustrated!!!

First, you're not addressing Apple here. This is a user-to-user technical support forum.
Second, if you back up your phone after you received the messages but before you deleted them, you can restore the phone to that back up. You can also try a utiliy such as BackUpExtractor (which is far less than $90) to extract the messages from your back up. I believe this was explained to you in your previous post as well.
    Best of luck.

  • How do i recover a deleted imessage conversation from my macbook pro?

How can i recover a conversation that has been deleted from my imessages? I havent backed up my computer with time machine.

    Hi,
If you had a Time Machine Backup you could go to the ~/Library/Messages and for the  iMessages Restore an older chat.db items and the other .db items that are there.
If you were saving chats on closing them you may find some or all in ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.ichat/Data/Library/Messages/Archive and looking through the dated folders.
To access the ~/Library use the Finder > Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key and selecting the Library that appears in the list.
Other than that it is gone.
The iMessages are Pushed from the server to the various devices that are "registered" to receive them.
This will continue for about 2 days if one device is Off Line.

  • How to change associated iMessage email in conversation?

    Hi all,
A friend and I are having issues with iMessage. Basicly her whole family uses the one Apple ID for purchases, so my friend updated to iOS5, and we were messing about with iMessages not realising that it was using their family Apple ID. So we fixed that up by creating her a new iCould ID, setting it all up with that and removing the family ID from the iMessage settings completely, however we are having issues with getting our iMessages working as one unified conversations with our SMSs. It appears that our old SMS conversation has been tagged with her family apple IDs email address on both our iPhones.
To complicate things further we both have iPad's, I've set caller ID on all 4 iDevices to their correct email addresses (completely removing her family ID from iMessage) however now whenever we use our old SMS conversation it's using their family email, as such they're not appearing on our iPad's. When I iMessage her iCould ID, it appears on our phones as a seperate conversation and iPad's. Kind of pointless when its meant to be unified, having SMSs and iMessages in the one conversation trail.
And we're worried that when her parents update to iOS5 that they're going to recieve our iMessage conversation if we use the SMS conversation.
We both don't want to remove our 3+ years of texts just to fix this issue, surely there is a way to fix it so we have one conversation for our SMSs and iMessages in one conversation?
We've rebooting all our iDevices and tripple checked the settings and everything looks right its just that the SMS conversation needs the iMessage email address changing.
After typing this out I just had anothor thought, could it be that the SMS conversations are set to use our phone numbers + family ID, instead of phone number + her iCloud ID?
Anyways, is there anyway to fix this up?

If you haven't found an answer I might have a fix (at least it seems to have worked for me)...
I turned off iMessage and set up my new ID's and then verified them. Then instead of going into the settings and iMessage, I just opened the message app which then prompted me to set up iMessage as a new user. This def worked on the iPod but it seemed a bit tricker with my iPhone as it would message regardless of iMessage being set up. With the iPhone it didn't prompt me for a new set up but that wasn't what I was trying to fix...it was my daughters iPod and this solution DID fix it. I'm quite sure it'd work on the phone too if someone just messed with it for a bit. Good luck;)

  • I believe some how some way my iPhone or appleID has been hacked into.  My iPhone sent 3 iMessages out that I did not type or send - 2 while I was sleeping and one while I was in mid imessage conversation.  Please help if you know anything about this!

I believe that my iPhone or apple ID has been hacked into.  Three imessages were sent from my phone that I did not type or send - two while I was asleep at 1:15am and in the morning during an iMessage conversation.  These messages were to my boyfriend about my boss.  Apple and AT&T have been somewhat helpful but both are pointing fingers at the others saying they cannot track the message or see if my personal information has been compromised.  I feel extremely violated because this hacker knows who my boyfriend is and who my boss is and I just started this job two weeks ago!  I am about to go to the police because this person is trying to taint my good reputation and destroy my relationships at work and in my personal life.  Does anyone have any incite on how this could be done and is there any way to trace where those three iMessages were generated from??

No I have my own iPhone iPad and MacBook  so everything is set up on devices that are mine and as far as I know I never connected to anyone else's device and logged with my apple ID.  But are you saying it is possible for someone to have obtained my apple ID and send an iMessage from their device with my contact information so it looks like it came directly from me?  It's crazy I looked down at my iPhone and saw this message had just been sent that I did not type or send

  • How do I stop the iMessage conversation from automatically showing when I go into the I message center? I only want the contacts to show down the left side and nothing on the right until I select a conversation to view.

HOW DO I STOP THE WHOLE IMESSAGE CONVERSATION FROM AUTOMATICALLY SHOWING WHEN I GO INTO IMESSAGE? I only want the contact bar on the left to show and not the whole conversation, until I pick one to see.

You can't. You can sign out of messages and turn it off, but you can't do what you would like to do. You can send feedback to Apple.

  • How do you disable the feature to 'keep iMessage conversations running between two devices'?

I have 2 apple devices- an iPhone 4 and an iPad 2. When I set my iPad up and set iMessage up set it offered me the option to keep iMessage conversations running between the two devices, and i pressed yes. I now cannot stand this feature because every time I recieve an iMessage, I get two alerts, one on each device. How do you disable it?

    Hi DeltaNomad,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
You can disable the Substitutions feature completely, or add words you frequently use to the substitutions list.  See this information from the Pages User Guide:
Replace text automatically - Pages Help for Mac
    http://help.apple.com/pages/mac/5.1/#/tanca15d8a79
When Text Replacement is turned on for the document, a checkmark appears next to Text Replacement in the Substitutions menu. You can deselect Text Replacement to turn it off, but existing text won’t change unless you select the text, and then follow the steps above.
Choose Edit > Substitutions > Show Substitutions (from the Edit menu at the top of your computer screen).
In the Substitutions window, select the Text Replacement checkbox, then click Text Preferences.
Click Text, click the plus sign, then type the text you want to replace (such as “teh”) in the Replace column.
Type the word you want to replace it with (such as “the”) in the With column.
Close the window when you’re done editing substitutions.
Click a button to replace all occurrences of the replacement text in the document, or only in the selected text.
    Cheers,
    - Judy

  • How do I sync iMessage on iOS with Messages on OSX Lion?

This morning, an Update for Messages on OSX was announced.
I just downloaded the Beta and it is running quite well.
    There is one last question!
How do you sync iMessage on iOS with Messages on OSX Lion.
    Example:
I'm texting with Jana on my Mac - but I can't see this conversation on my iPhone / iPad even tho´ the email adress is added in my "iMessages-Settings" on iPhone/iPad.
I also can't start a conversation on my iOS devices and continue them on my Mac.
Anybody out there knowing what to do?
    Best regards from Germany.
    Andreas

    Hi,
I contacted my son on his iPhone by his number.
He did not have his email linked to his Apple ID
When he did that he could message me with that ID rather then the phone number.

  • Keyboard covers bottom of iMessages conversation

Ever since I updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 8, the keyboard covers the bottom of the iMessages conversation, making it very hard to read new texts. The problem sometimes goes away when I quit and restart iMessages, but often returns quickly. It would be nice if Apple could issue a bug fix for us older iPhone users.

    Hello there thejukester,
It sounds like your Messages keyboard is covering up the bottom messages, rather than them moving up above it as it should. Quitting the app and restarting it is where I would have started as well, and next I would quit ALL the apps on the phone. Then reset it with this process:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If the issue persists, then I would backup and restore your phone as a new device with this article, named:
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device
If it works correcty, then restore your backup and either verify the issue is resolved, or to isolate it to the backup itself:
Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,

  • How can I access iMessages from iTunes backup?

I backed up my iPhone since I needed to backup a really large iMessage conversation and I read this was a way to do it
Now I want to access it from my computer
    how can I do this?

    Anindan wrote:

You will need a Backup Extractor program; there are many available. I use iScavenge for Mac, but there are many more. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=iphone+backup+extractor The one at the top of the search claims to be free, but it is not. Don't be fooled. I can't recommend for or against any of them, except iScavenge, which is OK.
If you are technically inclined the backup is a SQLite database, so a SQLite browser can also open the backup.

    Hi An Iphone user,
If you are having issues deleting a specific message from an iMessage conversation (not seeing the Trash icon), you may want to double-check that you are following the steps outlined in the following article:
How do I delete a message?
To delete a message, tap and hold the message bubble, then tap More.
Tap Delete All to delete all the messages. Or tap to select the messages you want to delete, then tap .
After you delete a message, you can recover it only by restoring from a backup.

  • HT5395 how can i download imessage to my macbook

how can i download imessage to my macbook

    Hi,
While I know I know I can be pedantic about the syntax on this - iMessages is a service Apple runs for iOS devices and suitable Macs.
As QuickTimeKirk has said this means having the right OS to have a version of the App which is called Messages
This does tend to mean that with the Messages app the account is called iMessages.
The app can also join the AIM Service, Jabber, Yahoo and have Bonjour conversation on your LAN with other Macs.
