How to quit Andoid-app instead of suspending

I made an app using air 2.6.
When I hit the quit-button on my Android-phone and later on I restart the app, it continues where I quit it, but I want to totally restart from the beginning.
I looked over the internet for hours, but I can't find any solution ... I found this: NativeApplication.nativeApplication.exit(); ... but can't get it to work, hope someone can help, thanks!

Are you using Flex? If so you need to turn off the persistNavigationState. By default it is true.

  • How to quit an app?

    Okay, this might be a stupid question, but how do I leave and quit an app at the same time in iOS 4? Previosly, I would just hit the Home Button, but now it seems it leaves all apps open at the multitasking bar and the only way I can fully quit an app is to minus it out of the multitasking bar. So, there is no way to leave and quit an app at the same time?

    I too fail to see the point of the multi-task bar. What good to me is a list of every app I'ver ever run on my phone? It doesn't take long before that list has pretty much every icon on my phone in it.
    My desktop has my icons arranged by pages and now folders, and in an order that only changes when I rearrange them. That's useful. I can easily find the apps I want to open using my desktop.
    The multi-task bar is not useful. It shows a few icons at a time in one ginormous, dynamic list. There is no value in scrolling through it to hunt for the app I want to run. You might point out that if it's an app I ran recently. it'll be at the front of the list and thus easy to find. But my retort will be that you don't know much about user-interface design.
    Because my workflow will often have me opening apps that weren't recently open, and because those are much more quickly found via my desktop icons, my standard workflow to open an app will be to press home and find it on my desktop. It would be slower for me to first check my multi-task list, because every time my app isn't listed at the front, I've just wasted my time on that step.
    As a user, I will adapt to a single, efficient workflow. I'm not going to have two workflows and track in my head which app I recently opened vs. which I haven't in order to decide which method to use to re-open that app. That idea is ridiculous.
    Apple designs a lot of things well, but they dropped the ball on this one. This was a bad user-interface decision. It adds no value at all, and has the detrimental effect that, as a power user, I'm paranoid that the apps in this list are still running, using RAM, CPU, and/or battery power. So now I waste my time going to this list frequently to manually "close" these apps.

  • How to quit an app from dock that will not quit!

    I wanted to turn off my computer, but it asked me to quit mail. So i try to quit mail and it will not quit. Then i tried dragging it into trash, and onto the dock to get deleted but that would not work either. It won't delete or quit anywhere. And when I click "file", quick mail is not even an option! Help please

    Choose Force Quit from the Apple menu and shut it down from there. If that doesn't work, save and close everything you can and use the Activity Monitor in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder to force quit the loginwindow process.

  • How to quit iPhone app when placing call?

    At a certain point my app places a call by invoking the phone app via tel:// . After the call is finished the iPhone relaunches my app.
    Is there a way to cancel/stop/prevent the relaunch?

    If you created a view based application, you should also see <app name>ViewController sources. In the implementation file, you uncomment the viewDidLoad method and then do what you need.

  • How to quit MLB at bat audio or apps that are not showing by the lock area

    I upgraded MLB at bat so that the audio plays in the background while im multitasking.
    Its great how ever I don't understand how to quit the app.
    When I double click the home button and swipe to the control area where the orientation lock is it does not show mlb at bat running. It shows only the ipod icon. I thought it was suppose to show the mlb at app like it shows the pandora when pandora is streaming music in the background
    Its the same concept of allowing audio to stream ...what gives?
    I guess I can hold down the mlb at bat app when first opening my apps that are in the background hold down so it wiggles and then delete it.
    But this is very confusing.

    If you double click the home button after starting audio (in MLB)...before you single click the home button to quit...and then swipe to the left, you get the iPod icon. But, if you start audio in MLB, then press the Home button to quit the app and go back to the home screen (while still streaming audio in the background), and THEN double click and swipe to the left, you'll get the MLB icon and MLB audio controls.
    By the way, MLB At Bat audio in the background while checking your mail or surfing the web is pretty awesome.

  • How to force quit an app in IOS 7.0.4 on iPad 3 ?

    I have searched on this topic, and see repeated references to the double click HOME button, then hold the particular app card, and swipe "up and away".
    This does NOT work on my device.
    I can double-click the HOME button, and see the app switcher row at the bottom, showing the running (or suspended) apps.  Holding a given card turns it gray, but then nothing else happens.  If I move as to swipe, the card simply un-grays -- there is no movement or any other action.  It will allow me to swipe left and right, but not up.
    I have no other issues with the iPad and this release, that I know of.
    Thank you.

  • How do I get other apps to switch to the actual Maps app instead of loading a webpage when I click on an address?

    Since upgrading to iOS 6, I've noticed something irritating.  Although I never used Google Maps before, I don't mind using the Maps app now because it provides turn by turn directions.  Yes, I've heard the supposed horror stories, but the thing works fine for me.
    However, I have run into a significantly irritating issue.  Whenever I click on an address and it tells me it will launch the Maps app, it doesn't.  Instead, it launches a webpage with Google Maps, which are more than useless as they only provide a list of turns.  How can I get my iPhone to actually do what it is saying it will do and have it launch the Maps app instead?

    I'm also on iPhone 4, iOS 6, and have exactly the same problem. I've tried resetting privacy settings, turning restrictions on and off, deleting and reinstalling apps. Nothing seems to work. The lists of apps in privacy settings are all empty, except for location services. When using Tweetbot the app is regularly asking for permission to access my twitter account, but even when I allow that, the app doesn't show in privacy settings. When I try to go into the camera roll from the Facebook app, the app tells me I have to allow access to the camera roll from the privacy settings - which I can't do since the app is not listed there.

    don't worry, it's normal and it will fade away by itself. If not, take it to your apple store

    I am using Mac osX 10.9.2
    I can see that I am not the only one with this problem.

    How can you change apps store when you travel around the world?
    After upgrading to IOS6, suddently my iPad has switch me to the greek apps store instead of leaving me into my canadian apps store.
    Therefore, I cannot upgrade 60+ apps on my iPad.
    Does someone know how to revert this situation?
    Thanks for your help!

    Try this:
    1. App Store>Feature>Apple ID (at bottom of page)
    2. Tap on Apple ID>View Apple ID
    4. Enter your password
    5. Country/Region>Change Country or Region

  • How to make text message notification work without quitting the app

    in the text message conversation view, there's only a soft sound alert when new messages are received.
    even when the screen is off, you get no popup preview or a regular notification sound whatsoever.
    the only way to keep getting the regular notification & previews is to quit the app each time you send out a text.
    often times when you are in the middle of something and are unable to focus on the phone itself for the conversation, you forget to quit the message app, then you are totally not aware there have been messages coming in because it only gives you a soft sound alert that's totally unable to hear when you're outside walking, or other similar scenarios.
    It's been bugging me for years, it's specially annoying when the other person I chat with isn't aware of this issue and ocassionally misses out my messages.
    i mean, if apple insists that to avoid this problem, the users MUST remember to quit the conversation RIGHT AFTER EVERY SINGLE LINE, this is just absolutely unrealistic.
    I now do it every time because I'm aware of the issue, but not the other people I have conversations with.
    I've had too many situations where I had to wait for a long time to receive response only to find out that the other person wasn't aware the new text messages, because it was simply too soft to hear, and completely no other sort of things to notify you with.
    so i wonder if there really isn't a way to change the notification behavior, cuz apparently it's impossible that I make everybody I send text to change their habits just for this.
    if anyone knows the answer I'll really appreciate it. thanks

  • How to exclude Web App from search results

    Hi
    Search results link to a unstyled Web App instead to the actual page it resides in.
    Please do this:
    1. go to: http://kinship.businesscatalyst.com/
    2. search for "Michael" on the top global search
    3. on the search results page click on the name (link).
    4. you will see Michael's web app item not the actuall page it resides in (http://kinship.businesscatalyst.com/About/the-team)
    How to avoid getting web app results in search?
    Thanks
    Micha

    Hi Micha
    Just add “&OT=35 “ at the end of the action in your search form:
    Ex:
    <form name=”xxxx” method=”post” action=”/Default.aspx?SiteSearchID=3566&amp;ID=/results&OT=35”>
    <div class=”search-box”><input type=”text” class= ............../>
    <input type=”submit” class=”cat_button” value=”search” />
    </div>
    </form>
    Here are the rest of the content types IDs, should you come across similar situations in the future:
    Web Pages = 1
    Literature = 6
    Announcements = 7
    FAQs = 9
    Forums = 43
    Blogs = 55
    Web Apps = 35
    Catalogs = 26
    Bookings = 48
    You can exclude multiple areas from a search, simply list them with commas: &OT=35,1,6

    I want to use an iTunes gift card as the back up for in app purchases for a so called free app instead of my credit card or having my bank account emptied.
    How can I do this? I saw something about gift cards can only be used for music or movies, not apps.

    You can use an iTunes gift card for app, music, movies and other media.To redeem one see:
