How to re-add movies?

I accidentally deleted a few movies from my itunes, and when i try to add them to my library again, it doesn't work, help? (the movies are from my hard drive, not the store) I have tried adding them the normal way through menu/dragging.

Welcome to the iMovie forums.
Apparently iMovie 08 does not natively support the use of chapter markers. The movie needs to be exported to Garage Band to do the work.

iMovie 8 isn't really that good for serious editing and output. It's is good at uploading video to the internet and to You Tube. That's about it. If you have iMovie 6 you'd be in much better position to edit your video into a good movie and to add chapter markers natively.

Are you trying to start a second library just for the books and movies on the external drive? If that's the case, create your library on the drive, then drag the books and movies to the Automatically Add To iTunes folder you will find in the iTunes folder that was just created for the new library on the external drive. This will move the files to the correct locations within the new iTunes folder and add them to the new library.

You do not move content from the computer to iCloud.
If the content is available for re-download, it can be deleted from the computer but as already stated, that is no guarantee it will always be there and available.
If you are running out of space on your computer, buy an external drive and move the content to that drive.

Yes it can be done and yes the files must be in s specific format for the iPod to use them. Apple doesn't allow talking about it here. Take a look at the tutorials at ilounge.com they should help.

You can define WM movement type in V_T333:
SPRO > LE > WM > Activities > Transfers > Define Movement Types - here you have to define WM mvt 101 for your WH ("ABC").
LE-WM Interface
SPRO > LE > WM > Interfaces > IM > Define Movement Types - here you can connect WM reference movement type to IM mvt and then WM mvt to WM reference mvt.

I must be missing something here. I just installed iMovie 08. I can't drag and drag any movie files into my project. The file > Import Movie menu just keeps freezing everytime i choose the option and I get the beach ball. Even so, all the movies in the browse sheet are greyed out.

I am certain that this subject has been covered in the forum before so a search for Importing and Movie types should bring up the exact information, but you will need to use QuickTime to export the clips in the format DV Stream, (or iMovie 6 to export to full quality QT).

Yes, you can add your own videos to iTunes, then sync them to your nano, subject to supported max resolution limit and file type. The specs for the 7th gen nano says (I don't know which nano model you have), Video Format Support

(earlier nanos have lower max resolution limits)
So, "HD" video is too high resolution, so iTunes will not sync such videos to the iPod (although they play in iTunes). If you are asking how to set up iTunes to sync videos in general (regardless of source), please post back.

The extension is usually .mov, .m4v, or .mp4. But you can't just change the extension. The movies have to be encoded in a particular fomat. Anything downloaded from iTunes or plays in Quicktime player will be fine.
