How to Re-classify cost from Project to Cost Center.

There is a Project X - Its owner is Cost Center YYYYY.
There is pressure to close Project X
but we have commitments to the amount 4 milllion.
We were thinking if there is a way to compensate this 4 million to Cost Center YYYYY..., and close the project and then use Cost Center YYYYY as the cost object for our PO's / Commitments...
I don't understand the Cost Center Budgeting Philosophy
can anyone give suggestions, how re-classification, re-valuation, or transfers, can be made in SAP.

You can close project but before closing project transfer actual costs sitting on it to some other cost center.
What do you mean by compensation to CC YYYY?. Please elaborate with more details.

How to delete a cost center hierarchy

Hi all,
We are having a issue regarding the cost centers. The cost centers have been assigned wrong cost center numbers. Now the client wants a set of new cost center numbers to be used in the system. In order for that to be done I thought may be if I can change the cost center hierarchy that has been assigned to the controlling area in OKKP transaction we can assign new cost centers to the new hierarchy and solve the problem.
But the system does not allow us to assign a different cost center hierarchy from the already existing one when cost centers are assigned to it.
My issue is how to delete the cost center hierarchy.
If that is not possible how can we remove the cost centers assigned to the cost center hierarchy ( is this possible)
Last question can we delete the transaction data posted to cost centers.
Points will be assigned to all the replies.

Hello Sarada,
If the requirement is to track new cost centers only going forward, then you may need to create new Cost Centers, block old cost centers. Create a new node in the hierarchy saying "Old-do not use".
If the requirement is to have the history transactions reflect the new cost centers as well, then you will need to undertake a project for SLO (System Landscape Optimization) which will replace this data at table level. This is a major project in itself and the programs are proprietary to SAP.

How to delete the cost center line item data of particular cost center and only one cost center is exisiting for that company code.
Is there any way to delete the line items in that cost center.
Can data archiving & deleting can help us..........

Hi,
Once you post actual values or any planning exists on this cost center you cant delete.
To ristrict posting to cost you have two options.
1.You can change validity period.
change end from 12/31/9999 to what ever date you want to stop posting(e.g. as of today 10/23/08)
2. lock all postings to cost center on Control data tab in KS02.

In iAssets System, we want to set up the approval method to use "cost center-based approvals". (For cost center-based approvals to work properly, each cost center must have a manager defined.)

I believe this is done in the organization definition screen. For each organization, we attach a classification "Company Cost Centre" (the same place where we attach the classification operating unit, inv org etc). In the others section, there are 2 additional information - GL company cost centre and reporting information. In the GL company cost, you need to attach the balancing segment value and the cost centre value. In the reporting information, you need to attach the manager for that organization. This ay the relationship between the cost centre and manager is created.

use the External Processing activity and create the Service master attach this service master in the service tab of the external processing with quantity and rate. and release the activity
it will create PR based on the setting you make in the network profile.
create PO
Create service entry sheet against the PO
release the service entry sheet
pay the vendor.

Hi,
You can use DP81 and DP82 to create Quotations .
If you want to use DP81 then you need to link Sales Inquiry with Project by entering the WBS Element in Account Assignment Tab of Inquiry and also enter the DIP Profile in Sales B View.
Else you can carry sales pricing without the creation of Inquiry.Enter the DIP Profile ,Dist Channel,Division in control data tab of project and also enter Sold to party in Partner tab.

Hi,
Cost Center group can be viewed from field SETCLASS of table SETLEAF.
To Fetch the relevant cost center from a cost center group, we can use FM: 'K_HIERARCHY_TABLE_READ'.

How to control the Cost Center incurred value posted from many transactions

In KP60, cost center wise , element wise budget is allocated .i.e planned. Ex: 450000 is assigned and saved.
Now ex: in FB60, when we post a vendor invoice having the value greater than the above value, system should not allow.
Like this, the cost to the cost center can be incurred to the cost center not only in FB60 , but also from many transactions.

Is it possible that you mean KP06? (not KP60???)
Because if this is the case KP06 is only for planning...not budget.

Select your Music Track so that a yellow border is around it. Then hit the Delete Key. Alternatively, hit EDIT/DELETE SELECTION.
