How to Re-import model in webdynpro in NWDS 7.1 EHP1 version

Hi All,
We have webdynpro DC in NWDS 7.1 EHP1 version, we are trying to re-import the model which already exists in DC. actually in the BAPI ABAP people is added new field in the BAPI structure then we are trying to incorporate the same changes in webdynpro to reflect the new field in model  through the Re-import model.
But when we right click on model and then selected the re-import then it is not happening any thing in studio its a kind of new action, but ideally in general  it should open the new window where the SAP r/3 credentials should be given to re-import the model. In our case nothing is happening after we right click on the model on selection of "Re-import" model.
Please let me know what is the issue we have?, do we have any issue with our studio  NWDS 7.1 EHP1 version? or should we follow any other procedure to re-import model in NWDS 7.1 EHP1 version.
In other versions of studio like earlier versions we were able to re-import the model thru re-import the model by right click on model. but the current version of studio NWDS 7.1 EHP1 should have problem for re-importing the model.
Thanks,
Portaluser100

Hi,
1.Its Simple way. Just Right click on your Model--- Choose Re-Import. Then choose your RFCu2026Click on Finish
2. while re import the RFC u will get some error. By cache invalidation and Re Start the J2EE Engine Server you can solve the problem.
After Re-Import the model you can do cache invalidation
There is a need to restart the portal system to clear the cache. Once its done your application would work fine.
Another thing that you can try to clear the cache is
1. Go to link http://<servername> : <portname> /webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tcwdtools/WebDynproConsole
2. Click on the last link in detail navigation "Invalidation of ARFC Metadata Cache"
3. From "Adaptive RFC Metadata Cache Invalidation " tray, choose the JCO that you are using
4. From " Dictionaries Cache Invalidation" tray, choose the dictionary(model) whose cache you want to clear.
The above option saves time but in case it doesnu2019t work, you can go in for Portal restart. It would surely work.
If you have more clarification please read the [Document|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/10465350-b4f5-2910-61ba-a58282b3b6df]
Hope this helps!!

    Hello everyone,
    Is there a BAPI that I can use for CU50? I am trying to build a Web Dynpro Application where I am trying to import a model for the component in NWDS, but I am not able to find a BAPI which is used for Variant Configuration.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello Prachi,
    I don't think it is worth doing that.
    I strongly advise you to install NWDI and follow SAP's recommendations.

  • How to load/import/extract Axon Instrument .abf file 2.0.4 version?

    Hi all,
    We recently set up a low current measuring system using Axon Instrument's devices, and the data recorded are in .abf format 2.0.4 version. I know there's an example VI about abf file format here: http://www.ni.com/example/30979/en/, but it only supports up to 2.0 version. Is there any support for loading/importing/analysing .abf version 2.0.4 file format?
    Thank you!
    Weisi

    Have you tried the example VI to see if it works? I wouldn't expect a version number 3 places out to make too much of a difference.
    Are the differences documented anywhere?

  • Create Wire Model in webdynpro FPM.

    Hi Friends,
    Please , Help Me How to create Wire Model by Webdynpro FPM. Please Give me Step by Step  process.
    i have done Form, list, search and Tree but i am not geting how to do Wire Model. So Please Give me Step by step Review to create Wire Model with FPM.
    it's Urgent.
    Thanks.

    Wire Model
    The wire model can be used to create running FPM application by pure configuration or at least with minimal coding effort. The runtime interdependencies between UIBBs are defined by configuration entities called “wires” which are based on reusable “connector” classes implementing the dependency semantics. The primary use cases for the wire model are object models with generic access interfaces (for example, ESF, BOPF, or BOL).
    A wire controls the runtime interdependencies between two UIBBs; that is, they determine the data content of the target UIBB depending on user interaction changing the “outport” of the source UIBB. Outports can be of type lead selection, selection or collection. For example, the execution of a search on a Search GUIBB will change its collection outport and may therefore change the data content of a result list displayed in a separate List GUIBB. Similarly, changing the lead selection in a list of sales orders may change the data content of another list displaying the associated sales order items.
    In order to be part of a wire model, a UIBB needs to implement a certain Web Dynpro interface which in turn provides a feeder model implementation. The FPM GUIBBs are automatically integrated if their feeder classes implement the feeder model interface.
    Application areas or object models define their own namespaces for which their connector classes, feeder model classes can be reused. Moreover, they typically need to provide a transaction handler class which manages transaction events like save, modify or check and global message handling.
    Wires are defined on the level of the floorplan configuration. For each model UIBB contained in the floorplan configuration, a source UIBB with specified outport can be defined. Furthermore, a connector class and, potentially, connector parameters must be maintained.
    If the floorplan contains composite components (tabbed components), the model UIBBs contained in the tabbed components can also be wired. However, in order to provide better reusability of composite components, it is also possible to define intrinsic wiring for tabbed components. A tabbed component can define a model UIBB as a “wire plug” (this is usually a master UIBB), which serves as an entry point for the wiring of the tabbed component from the enveloping floorplan component. If a wire plug is configured for a tabbed UIBB, only the wire plug UIBB can be wired from outside.
    Transaction Handler class
        The transaction interface provides methods for handling global and transactional events. In the FPM configuration editor, one transaction handler implementation can be assigned on the level of the wire model. However, it is not mandatory to specify. But it can be used for wring some specific logic for Application level events.
    Interface “IF_FPM_WIRE_MODEL_TRANSACTION” is implemented for creating transaction handle class.
    Method
    Method description
    START
    It is called at the starting of FPM application. It provides 3 things “FPM Massage manger instance”, “Property bag of FPM Application”, and “Runtime information of FPM”.  Here, we can also specify application commit capability.
    AFTER_FLUSH
    This method is called after FLUSH has been called for all current UIBBs. It can be used to flush buffers.
    AFTER_PROCESS_EVENT
    This method is called after PROCESS_EVENT has been called for all current UIBBs. It can be used for handling transactional events for example SAVE or CHECK. Moreover, it can be used to collect messages which here not handled inside UIBBs and to forward them to the FPM message handler.
    AFTER_PROCESS_BEFORE_OUTPUT
    This method is called after PBO has been called for all current UIBBs. It can be used to collect messages at the latest possible point in time before screen output.
    AFTER_NEEDS_CONFIRMATION
    This method is called after NEEDS_CONFIRMATION has been called for all UIBBs. It can be used to analyze and add confirmation requests.
    IS_DIRTY
    This method can be used to indicate a dirty state for the work protection mode.
    Connector Class
        The “IF_FPM_CONNECTOR” connector interface comprises an interface, “IF_FPM_CONNECTOR_DEF”, defining the access by the FPM framework and an interface “IF_FPM_CONNECTOR_RUN” for runtime access by the application feeder model.
    The definition interface possesses a static attribute, “SV_NAMESPACE”, which should be filled with the namespace (ex. ‘FPM_DEMO’ or ‘BOL’ or user specific) in the class constructor of a connector implementation (for example in a common superclass).
    Method for “IF_FPM_CONNECTOR_DEF”
        Method
    Method description
    GET_PARAMETER_LIST
    Connector classes can be parameterized to flexibly control their runtime behavior. The parameter values are maintained for the wires in the FPM configuration editor. A parameter is defined by a name, its data type and a descriptive text.
    INITIALIZE
    With this method the connector is initialized with the parameter values. This method is called by the FPM runtime upon UIBB instantiation.
    GET_PARAMETER_VALUE_SET
    With this method, a connector implementation can provide a value set for each parameter. For example, in an object model a parameter may carry the association name. For a wire between specified UIBBs, the method may provide a list of all associations between the source and target business object node.
    SET_INPUT
    Receives an object reference carrying the actual data of the connected outport. This method is called before the UIBB‟s PBO by the FPM runtime.
    Method for “IF_FPM_CONNECTOR_RUN”
        Method
    Method description
    GET_OUTPUT
    Returns an object reference carrying the actual data to be displayed by a UIBB. This method can be called by the UIBB at PBO for example in the GET_DATA method of a feeder class.
    IS_CREATE_ALLOWED
    Returns a Boolean indicator whether entity creation is allowed. This method can be called by the UIBB at PBO to dynamically control the activation of create buttons for example to maintain the action usage parameter in the GET_DATA method of a feeder class.
    CREATE_ENTITY
    Creates and returns a data entity which can be arbitrarily typed. This method can be called by an action handler of the UIBB for example in the PROCESS_EVENT method of a feeder class.
    There are total seven methods in connector interface “IF_FPM_CONNECTOR” that should be implemented in connector class. We should also create class constructor for setting “Namespace”. “SET_OUTPUT” and “GET_OUTPUT” is bridge between FPM components, so these methods should be implemented properly.
    Wire for Free UIBBs
        Wire model is implemented on Web Dynpro component by implementing “IF_FPM_UIBB_MODEL” Web Dynpro interface. It contains only one method “GET_MODEL_API” which is used to set “FPM Feeder Model” for Free GUIBBs. It contains only one parameter “RO_FEEDER_MODEL”. So, we have to create a FPM Feeder Model class and assign to that parameter.
        FPM Feeder Model Class – Interface “IF_FPM_FEEDER_MODEL” is implemented for creating Feeder Model Class.
        Method for “IF_FPM_ FEEDER_MODEL”
        Method
    Method description
    GET_NAMESPACE
    Returns the namespace of the underlying application area. Method is called at design time.
    SET_CONNECTOR
    Called upon instantiation of a UIBB. It hands over the connector (reference to IF_FPM_CONNECTOR_RUN) which can be accessed for data retrieval at PBO.
    GET_INPORT_KEY
    Returns a reference to an object key which characterizes the meta data type expected at the import (for example the business object node). Method is called at design time.
    GET_OUTPORTS
    Provides a table of outports comprising the object key, the port type an identifier and a descriptive text. Method is called at design time.
    GET_OUTPORT_DATA
    Returns an object reference carrying the actual data identifier for a certain port. Method is called at runtime.
            Assistance class can also be used as Feeder Model Class and reference “WD_ASSIT” can used as Feeder model instance.
    Ex:    METHOD get_model_api .
      ro_feeder_model = wd_assist.
    ENDMETHOD.
    Wire for GUIBBs
        Nothing special we need to do that.  Interface “IF_FPM_FEEDER_MODEL” is also implemented on feeder class for getting port support. We need to set port manually using structure “IF_FPM_FEEDER_MODEL=>CS_PORT_TYPE”. It contains three constants “COLLECTION”, “SELECTION” and “LEAD_SELECTION”. It should be properly configured.

  • Import model from OWB repository

    We have an OWB repository with several 100 tables, mappings, etc. what we try to import but SQL Modeler seems to import nothing although it gives no errors.
    We've found that before importing all the OWB environment variables must be set.
    Which we did.
    Then it seems to connect to the repository, do some processing and returns but without any changes in the model.
    Did anyone import model from OWB successfully?
    We are using version 10.2 OWB and database.
    Bye,
    Gabor

    OK ive imported from Designer into OSDM just fine.
    Good. Glad this works.
    However things I dont like so far ...;)
    The properties palete can you make it like owb in that when i open it and change context in the browser it updates? I dont want to have to keep going show properties.
    In future releases User Interface will be adresses to be more intuitive and to be more SQL developer alike
    Pushing the OK button does not appear to do anything the properties window stays open so how is it different to apply?
    Sorry, but we don't understand. Pushing OK should work and should close the property window.
    Things I dont like... the number of clicks to see information ( no hotkeys or shortcuts  )
    Agree. In future releases User Interface will be adresses to be more intuitive and to be more SQL developer alike
    Next Early Adopter will have new dialog for entities and tables
    No drag n drop columns from 1 table to another. No right click on browser nodes to create keys etc No CTL drop no SHIFT drop
    You can drag columns
    an enhancement request will be created
    Why cant I reorder columns by moving them in the browser? Then I could move them visually. This also applies to property paletes if I have to go to the effort of highlighting a current row then why cant I just grab it and move it?
    You can reorder columns/attributes by the "up" and "down" arrows after you highlighted the column or attribute in their respective property window.
    an enhancement request will be created for doing this from the browser and the grabbing
    Appears to be no ability to set common properties over a number of attributes. If I select a number of columns I cant pull up a property pallete to set a common attribute on them.
    an enhancement request will be created
    I could not get the enginer to logical model to enable
    Should work. when you have the relational model, use the engineering to logical model icon (2 red arrows) or the design menu option and do engineer to logical model
    Otherwise looks promising
    Thank you!!

  • WebDynpro Importing Model as Spring and Hibernate

    hi guys,
    Can any one tell me clearly about how to import model(Spring and HIbernate) in WebDynpro for java
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi Ramakrishna,
    Spring and Hibernate is used for Database access instead of EJB.
    To import spring and Hibernate model Use Either <b> Import Adaptive Web Service Model </b> or <b> Import Java Bean Model </b> by right Click on Models.

  • How can i import tables from a different schema into the existing relational model... to add these tables in the existing model? plss help

    how can i import tables from a different schema into the existing relational model... to add these tables in the existing relational/logical model? plss help
    note; I already have the relational/logical model ready from one schema... and I need to add few more tables to this relational/logical model
    can I import the same way as I did previously??
    but even if I do the same how can I add it in the model?? as the logical model has already been engineered..
    please help ...
    thanks

    Hi,
    Before you start, you should probably take a backup copy of your design (the .dmd file and associated folder), in case the update does not work out as you had hoped.
    You need to use Import > Data Dictionary again, to start the Data Dictionary Import Wizard.
    In step 1 use a suitable database connection that can access the relevant table definitions.
    In step 2 select the schema (or schemas) to import.  The "Import to" field in the lower left part of the main panel allows you to select which existing Relational Model to import into (or to specify that a new Relational Model is to be created).
    In step 3 select the tables to import.  (Note that if there are an Foreign Key constraints between the new tables and any tables you had previously imported, you should also include the previous tables, otherwise the Foreign Key constraints will not be imported.)
    After the import itself has completed, the "Compare Models" dialog is displayed.  This shows the differences between the model being imported and the previous state of the model, and allows you to select which changes are to be applied.
    Just selecting the Merge button should apply all the additions and changes in the new import.
    Having updated your Relational Model, you can then update your Logical Model.  To do this you repeat the "Engineer to Logical Model".  This displays the "Engineer to Logical Model" dialog, which shows the changes which will be applied to the Logical Model, and allows you to select which changes are to be applied.
    Just selecting the Engineer button should apply all the additions and changes.
    I hope this helps you achieve what you want.

  • Importing Complex JavaBean model into WebDynpro

    Hi,
    I am trying to get Data from the EJB, in my Case, Command Bean to WebDynpro.
    So i followed this thread:
    <a href="/people/balaramnaidu.bankuru/blog/2006/04/23/importing-complex-javabean-model-into-webdynpro-by-creating-relationships-for-the-model-classes in WebDynpro</a>
    But one thing does't work here:
    I can't import the Complex type java.util.Collection.
    But i need to get Data from a DB-View into my WebDynpro.
    Is there any other chance to do that?
    Here a CodeSnippet from my Command Bean Class:
    public BusinessDelegate() throws CreateException
              try
                   Context ctx = new InitialContext();
                   OracleSessionLocalHome home = (OracleSessionLocalHome)ctx.lookup("localejbs/OracleSessionBean");
                   session = home.create();
              } catch (Exception e)
                   e.printStackTrace();
         public void getAllOracleDetails()
              try
                   OracleDTO helper[] = session.getOracleData();
                   oracleDetailsList = new ArrayList();
                   for (int i = 0; i < helper.length; i++)
                        oracleDetailsList.add(helper(i));
              } catch (Exception e)
                   e.printStackTrace();
    OracleDTO is my HelperClass, where i made all Variable-Declarations I need in the View.
    Any ideas?
    Would appreciate that!

    You are not unable to import collection type means u are not able to see that variable in attribute list while importing the model?
    This may be due to you have not added getter and setter function for that collection type.

  • How to import of Visual Composer@browser models into Visual Composer@NWDS?

    Hello,
    some month ago, I started modeling a number of composite views with the browser version of the Visual Composer 7.1 SP 5. At this time, the corresonding NWDS did not provide an integrated Visual Composer.
    Now, we have moved to the CE 7.1 EhP 1 SP 2. This time the NWDS provides an integrated Visual Composer. Unfortunately, the integrated Visual Composer does not display my models.
    How can I import my Visual Composer models from the browser version to the NWDS version?
    Thanks a lot and kind regards
    Alexander

    Hello Talia,
    You can use Import/Export in order to move your models from Visual Composer@browser to Visual Composer@NWDS.
    Although, I have been able to export my models from VC@browser, I have not succeeded in importing them into VC@NWDS. Can you please give me a hint how to do that?
    But If you intend to add your models to DTR (Source Control repository) in the future, you should to add them to DTR in VC@browser first, import them in NWDS (using Development Infrastructure perspective) from the DTR, check out, continue modeling and check in at the end.
    To this end, I have to configure the VC@browser to use the DTR, right? Can you please give me a hint how to perfom the required configuration?
    Thanks a lot

  • Import Models without any extra engines?

    I have a very simple question to ask you people here at Sun.
    I'm making a 3D game and I DON'T want to use any other stupid engines for game development, no NetBeans, no Eclipse, no JME, nothing... I want to make a 3d from scratch but I want to know if I could just import models into my code from scratch (this is a yes or no answer) and also how could I do this (again without using any engines, because I want to do this FROM SCRATCH)
    So thanks for any and all help,
    It will be really appreciated

    Closed, solved it myself using this step by step approach suggested by Martin
    1) create an ejb module Development ComponentDC
    2) apply a stateless session bean, implement your business logic and add the methods
    to the local interface
    3) right click your ejb DC and select Development Component > Show In > Component Properties from context menu
    - switch to the permissions tab and select Entity forwarding
    4) create a Java EE Enterprise Application Archive (ear) file and reference your ejb
    5) right click your ear DC and select Development Component > Show In > Component Porperties from context menu
    - switch to the Public Parts tab
    - add a new puplic part (compilation)
    - right click it, select Reference Entities from the context menu and browse for your ejb DC and choose the Client public part
    4) create WebDynpro DC
    5) import your ejb
    in this thread Using EJB as model
    thanks anyway
