How to re-size a photo to Passport format in Aperture.

I have taken a photo for passport/Driving licence purposes. Photo should fit the size: 45mm x 35 mm.
I want to print it off my home photo Kodak printer.
Kodak printer does not have the passport/driving licence photo format to print it.
I have taken the photo in my Canon 40D and referenced it to my Aperture to tweak it.
I do not want to export it on line to a retail printer to do the passport/driving licence format because of time restriction.
Any suggestion would be very helpful.
Regards

Do a Custom Crop for aspect, then when printing, under Layout, do a Custom Image size. Or you can Export, edit the Export settings to this exact mm dimension using the Fit within Centimeters option and print.

How to restore a single Photo with time machine in Aperture 3 / iphoto?

Its been awhile since I used iPhoto, but I have done it.
If I recall correctly this is how.
In iPhoto open event that you need to restore the photo to ( the event that originally contained it )
Then open TM it should show that same event and then go back in time until you find the missing shot
Highlight the one you need to restore and tell TM to restore it.
    Good luck

Photos are not in PHP format. PHP is a server-side scripting language. If you are having trouble viewing a PHP page there must be an issue with the page's PHP script.

  • How to Reduce size of photos

    Good day,
I have taken photos with a Pentax digital camera and each photo have at leat 1,5 MO size.
I have Internet intermediate and I have test to send and email wiht 3 attached photos JPEG and it has take 8 Min. 15 sec..
How can I reduce the size of the photos with Photoshop Albun Editon Decouverte 3.0?
P.S. When I take photo with my small Intel PC pocket camera the photo JPEG with resolution 2076x1466 the size are 502 KO.

    Hi,
    Try this
    1. in Adobe PASE right click on the photo and select copy
    2. open up MS Paint, it is under accessories on your programs menu.
3 under the file menu select new then under the edit menu select paste.
    4. depending upon the size of your photo you may have white background to the right and bottom of the photo - if so drag the outside edge of the white to the border of the photo. I do not expect you will have this with the size of photo you have got
    5. Under the file menu select save as
    6. on the dialog box give your file a different name eg. name_copy and select the save as type JPEG then click save.
This should give you a copy which will have the same dimensions in pixels as your original but much smaller in size.
    On a test I shrank a file from 872kb to 257kb
JPEG is a format which shrinks the storage size of a photograph by throwing away some of the data. Some programs allow you to specify how much you want to throw away (this is the quality setting on your camera). This is why your good camera gives you a much bigger file size than the cheaper one.
MS Paint does not allow you to select the quality but just defaults to low quality which is why the file is much smaller.
If you have a proper photo editing program you will find that this will allow you to change the size of the picture (pixel dimensions) and the file size by specifing the quality of JPEG required.
    Hope this helps
    Best wishes

  • Can not find out how to set size of photos

    Hi
I have iPad 1 and iPad 3 and iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S and ATV
bur I can not set the proper size for photos.
My TV-set is of course 16:9 and ATV sends photos OK to screen
but I have to resize them in iPhoto or PhotoShop.
I have also an 6 year old Canon camera and there is the possibility to take 16:9 photos (still) direct
Anyone know how to set iPhone to shoot 16:9 stills.
I do not belive Apple have missed something important as this.
    Everyone must have a 16:9 TV-set today.
Perhaps anyone know about an app as does this?

  • Upgrade from 4.0.3 to 5.0 or 6.0?  And how to reduce size of photo?

I am using an old iMac installed with Mac OS 10.3.9 and iPhoto 4.0. If I want to upgrade to iPhoto 5.0 or 6.0, can i do it using the current OS? And is it free like iTunes upgrade?
I also need to reduce the size of a pic from several hundred KBytes to 50KBytes. How can I do it? I don't have Photoshop or any similar stuff?

iPhoto is part the "iLife" package.
To get the current version of iPhoto requires that you update/upgrade to the iLife 06 package.
To reduce the size of a picture, you can do this:
In iPhoto, select the picture(s) you want to scale down (reduce file size).
Click on the "email" button at the bottom of the iPhoto window.
iPhoto will ask what size you want them to be (S, M, L), and them paste them into a new email document for sending.
If you don't WANT to send an email, just save it as a Draft email, and save it for later.
You can then drag the pictures form the email document to your desktop, or to any other folder when you want them.
You can also save copies with the ave email attachment command in the iPhoto main menu (I believe true for most versions).
    good luck!

  • How do i size a photo to span across the mainframe?

Hi,I am very new to dreamweaver and am still trying to adjust

  • How do you track a photo book you purchased through aperture?

I have made a photo book in aperture and I would like to find out the status of the order.  Does anyone know where I can find this?

You can find more information about Apple Print products on this page. There is an Order Status link on that page in the Order Status paragraph. It will require you to log into your account unless you have the order number and the email address that was used for the order.

  • How can i put 2 photos or more in one (Aperture 3)?

I am using aperture 3 and I am planning to make an album where i can put many photos in one page, in different styles. I hope someone can help me with this. Thanks!

    Hi,
Someone asked a similar question a few days ago. You can of course use the book or light table tools within Aperture. You can also use the method I described here:
"Another option no one talked about: for a simple sequence or grid of images don't forget Aperture's Print window. You can combine images in many different ways and save your layouts as presets.
I use the Save PDF to Aperture print workflow that's incredibly useful in this case. Here's an example:
    1) I select the images I want to use in my layout. If I'm doing a triptych I choose three. The trick is to select them in the order I want them to appear on the page (Aperture follows that order).
    2) In the Print window I choose my triptych layout and preview the results. I hit Print.
    3) In the print dialog I click on the PDF button and select Save PDF to Aperture.
The workflow processes the file and at the end gives me a choice of format (JPEG, TIFF or PDF), destination project and name.
It also applies all the image adjustment options and the selected colorsync profile from the Print window to the results, which opens up several possibilities.
What this won't allow is any sort of overlap/transparency. The images are on a grid. But it's very convenient."

  • How do I reduce the size of photos to use on website?

Thanks to the helpful person who recommended I use Rapidweaver to build a website, I am slowly getting somewhere. It is so simple and just like Apple applications that I think I can do this.
My problem now is that when I tried to transfer a photo from iPhoto to the draft website page it comes across so large it fills the page.
How do I reduce the size of photos so that I can bring them across? I need to show about 20 photos on the web pages. Do they need to be in a different format and if so how do I change it to the appropriate one?
    Many thanks.

    Hi Casuarina,
Go to this site and click on the Desktop Version Quicktime movie for a small tutorial. It will explain everything to you and you can see how you resize right within Rapid Weaver. It's really quite nifty.

  • In iphoto, how do i save a photo after editing, in the same or higher file size, it's saves in a lower size

in iphoto, how do i save a photo after editing, in the same or higher file size, it's saves in a lower size

It's rather more complicated that this.
iPhoto is a lossless editor. You don't lose any quality on your shot in iPhoto.
The file size you see reported is the size of your iPhoto Preview: this is what gets used if you access the data via a media browser. It's a "good-enough-for-most-uses" version of the shot. Email it, upload to websites, use it in Presentation, Word processing file etc
If you want to set the quality yourself then Export the photo using the File -> Export command.
You can choose to export to Jpeg, Tiff or png. Tiff is lossless but the file sizes are up to 10 times larger. Jpeg allows you to choose different qualities: High, Medium or low. The difference is the amount of compression involved. High quality means very little compression. It's not unusual for photos exported at this setting to have a larger file size than the original.
Which setting you choose depends on the use you intend. Further editing, printing then high is important. Sending to Facebook? Well low will do just fine there as they're going to trash the file anyway.
But the key point: the file size only becomes an issue when you export.

  • For the life of me, I can't find out what size a photo is in terms of inches or how to change the size of the photo[s] so I can print them. I think I read somewhere to click edit, then click adjust. Nothing there about sizing.

For the life of me, I can't find out what size a photo is in terms of inches or how to change the size of the photo[s] so I can print them. I think I read somewhere to click edit, then click adjust. I don't see anything about re-sizing when I click the adjust tab: only saturation and tint levels. Thank you.

With respect to digital images, there really is no size in inches. The size is given as number of pixels horizontally and vertically. In iPhoto '09 you click the little "i" inthe lower right side of the window and it will display information related to the selected photo, including the pixel dimensions. I do not have iPhoto '11 installed so I don't know if it is the same there.
In some applications, such as preview, it has something additional called Dots per Inch (DPI) which you would think would allow you to convert the pixel dimensions to inches. It is not a real thing, though. The DPI is determined by how large or small you have chosen to print your photo and the capabilities of your printer.
There is also something called Aspect Ratio, which is usually expressed in inches x inches such as 6x9 but that doesn't mean the size on the screen or when printed is 6x9.  It is the ratio of the pixel dimensions.  When cropping your photos, you will have several standard aspect ratios to choose from plus any custom ones you create.
In iPhoto '09, after you choose Print, in the Print Setting window are the settings for the size you want the photo printed. You want to shoose a setting with the same aspect ratio of your photo. Otherwise, iPhoto will resize and/or crop your photo to fit the size you have chosen.

How do I reduce the size of photo in iPhoto?  The size of my imported photos from my camera are 2 - 3 MB and for my purpose I need 200 - 400 KB.   Scanned copies of older photographs with a size of 100 to 500 KB work very well.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

File -> Export and make your choices in the Export dialogue.
Jpeg Quality and Size will have most effect on file size. Note that 'Size' refers to the pixel dimensions of the photo.
