How to re-use the Property Editor in a custom development?

Hi,
I would like to re-use the Property Editor in a new project.
Is this possible and where do I have to start?
Is it possible to use the enhancement technology on this new editor?

The Insert Function menu item is designed to enter functions used in table's formulas.
So it's active only if the cursor is in a table's cell.
Maybe you are trying to draw an equation and this tyask requires the availability of the third product entitled MathType.

Hi! I use a table in my program and I want to show the top left cell of the table every time when the user clicks a button .I don't know how to do this. If I use a multicolumnListbox I can select the property 'top left visivle cell'. Is it possible with a table ?

Yes, it's possible - use the "index value" property to set top-left cell for arrays and tables. See example attached.

How to get a Sum of rows, when i use the property max. rows p. page ?

Hi all.
I've got a query and get a lot of rows (amounts) back.
Now i want to have max. 21 rows per page.
So, first i used the property "max. rows p. page"=21.
But i want a have Sum-Field p.page too, which shows the sum of the amount p. page at a >fixed place (bottom, left) at the page.
this didnt work well....
Because when i have 30 rows, then the sum will shown at the second page (because the sum-field its after the repeating frame).
...Now i forgot the property and placed a function and two placeholder in the query like this:
Function:
:cp_row:=:cp_row +1;
if (mod (:cp_row,21)=0)) then :CP_pagenr:=:CP_pagenr+1;
Placeholders: cp_row, cp_pagenr
Now i want to use :CP_pagenr to change the group - but Report Builder says: I cant... because placeholder are not allowed to change a group.
So.. perhaps anyone can give me a hint how i can do this ?

How can I use the pulse train from a 6602 to trigger an niFGEN and niSCOPE on each rising edge of the pulse train?

Hello,
Here is my application: I need to use a 6602 counter/timer to generate a pulse train of certain frequency and duty cycle. On each rising edge of this pulse train, I need to output an arbitrary waveform on Ch. 0 of an niFGEN (5422) AND acquire data from CH. 0 of an niSCOPE (5124). I also need to synchronize the niFGEN and the niSCOPE to the same clock used for the pulse train (6602/ctr0). This process needs to continue until the user stops the system.
I can generate the pulse train using the 6602 just fine using ctr0, but the pulse train shows up on OUT0 by default. When setting up the niFGEN and niSCOPE to trigger on rising/positive slope edge, OUT0 is not an option for either device as a source for the digital rising edge (pulse train). The main options for both are PFI0-3 and RTSI lines.
Questions:
1.) Is there a way that I can direct the pulse train to a location (such as an RTSI line) where BOTH the niFGEN and the niSCOPE can use it as a start trigger for each rising edge? I noticed in MAX that a route can be made between ctr0's internal output and a trigger line and others. If this is a solution, could you please explain how to accomplish this?
2.) Once I configure the niFGEN and niSCOPE to be triggered on a digital rising edge, how can I effectively have this happen for every rising edge from the pulse train? In other words, can I just initiate the FGEN outside of the while loop and it will generate a waveform for each rising edge it sees at the source until the while loop is exitted?
3.) Is setting a reference clock for the niFGEN and the niSCOPE the same thing as synchronizing both devices using the same clock that generated the pulse train? It is not clear to me the difference, and why it would necessarily be useful.
Images of my current front panel and block diagram are attached. If you would rather have the actual VI's just let me know. Any help and/or explanation on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to National Instruments Forums.
To output your signal to the PFI lines,
you can use external connectios between OUT0 and PFI lines. You can also use
the backplane to do so by routing into the same RTSI line.
1)
On the SCOPE and FGEN, the name of the
terminals are actually “PXI Trigger Line x/RTSIx” but on the 6602 you might
need to route the signal using the property:
You can also use the DAQmx route signal which perform the same opperation.
2)
This will depend on the frequency of
your pulse train. If this is lower than about 10 ms, then you can probably
place this on a loop and start and stop the acquisition every time. If the
frequency is higher than this, you will have to use:
- Scripting on the FGEN side (read more)
- MultiRecord Fetch (more information in the scope help file
section “Acquisition Functions Reading versus Fetching”).
3)
The short answer is yes. The longer one
might depend on how tight you need the synchronization to be (us, ns, ps). For
very tight synchronization, you should look into here.

You want to use a combination of three features, a button on the panel,
code to notice value changes using either polling in a state machine of
some sort or an event structure, and a VI Server property node to set
the Visible property of the VI being opened and closed.
The button exists on the controlling panel. The code to notice value
changes is probably on the controlling panel's diagram, and this diagram
sets the Visible property node of a VI class property node to FALSE or
TRUE to show or
hide the panel. To get the VI reference to wire to the
property node, you probably want to use the Open VI Reference node with
the VI name.

As per my understanding , To disable the field RV45A-KWMENG based on the condition for Transaction VA01/VA02.
The conditions which i need to check is Order Type and item category.

I think we need give the condition as if RV45A-KWMENG....... Another one if iam not wrong we need check that it has to be done in VA01 and VA02 then only this condition should be executed.

How can I use the appletviewer

I am programming on a solaris network at school and I can't get the appletviewer to work. I am using the emacs editor and the javac compiler from my account. Whenever I try and run the appletviewer I get this error:

I asked my lab tech. and she said that I could either:
a) install an X window onto the computer
b) keep opening and closing the browser so that the updated applet is used by the browser each time
c) FTP my .class file to my local computer each time.
I don't know what an x window is and the lab tech said it is expensive. Also using FTP or opening the browser each time I want to test new code is time consuming. Does anyone now how I can handle this problem? Thanks, Kevin

don't quite know your setup in detail but my guess is that the display you are using (X?) is not giving permission to the java program.
if you are using Solaris, then you can do this:
% /usr/openwin/bin/xhost + \ ip_of_the_machine_your_applets_are_running_on
also do not forget to set the $DISPLAY on the machine you are running your applets on to the display you are using.
check your display by:
% who|grep `whoami`|grep -v '\.0'
and the number that comes out is your display number.
set it up on the machine you are runing your applets on like this: (if you use csh)
% setenv DISPLAY my_ip:display_number
and you are all set!
## but maybe you'd figured it out already? :)

you just use EVPRO like you mentioned:
=EVPRO(Finance,$D20,group)
In the cell $D20 your account number is displayed. You copy this function down for each account.
-> just create an input schedule or report from a template, open the configuration panel. There you see this principle used for property High Level, Calc, ...

this method is perfect but you need to add the formula each time.
I would prefer to use the formula using the after or before range in expansion options of evdre which would make it dynamic and you need not copy paste the formula to derive the property each time.

How do you use Camera Raw Editor to open jpeg files by default, not using "Open As"?

I've searched for the Camera Raw setting that is available from the Photoshop (not PSE8) menu but it is not even available in Photoshop Elements 8 that I've been able to see. Does anyone know where this setting is?

I had PSE8 set to open any file (tiff, jpeg and cr2) with the camera raw editor. I can not figure out how it got changed or remember where to make this a default option in PSE8. I found a video showing it available in Photoshop, main menu, camera raw and then you just check the boxes. I've been looking for the similar setting in PSE8 again because I'm working through some exercises in a book and it is a nuisance to navigate to the image using the "open as" command every time. I figured it would be just as easy to set the option by default, then, if I didn't want to use the raw editor, I could just click open from there. Help? Thanks so much!

How can I change the external editor in iphoto?

When I go to Preferences, the only option that pops up in General Edit is Graphic Converter (formerly used). How can I change the external editor to Photoshop Elements 6? Also, can I drag and drop a photo from iPhoto onto the Photoshop elements 6 icon in the dock and do some editing and saving without corrupting my iPhoto library?

I do not remember how (if) iPhoto 6 handles PSE6 as an external editor - in iPhoto '08 you can set any program as one - try going to the preference that has graphic converter in it and selecting it - you probably will get a select dialogue that will let you choose a new external editor
It is not recommend that you ever save any files directly into the iPhoto library - if you can not get PSE6 set as the external editor then you should export your photos, edit them and save and then import the new photo into iPhoto
But I believe you will be able to set PSE6

Using the UI editor for a class that extends an abstract class

Hi,
At the moment it's unfortunately impossible to use the UI editor to edit a class that extends a certain abstract class. There is a way to circumvent this problem, by using a proxy class. Does anyone know how to create a proxy class for this purpose and how to register it?
Hopefully a future JDeveloper release will solve this problem. Is this a planned feature?
