  • How to install a smart card reader.

I am trying to install a smart card reader for work.  There are no prompts when connecting via USB or anything else.

There shouldn't be a prompt when you connect an empty card reader.  Insert a memory card into it and it should appear on the Desktop.

  • How to read magnetic stripe cards

    hello everybody,
I have asked about magnetic stripe cards regularly. can any one tell me whether the data reading can be done from simple array copy function or we need anything else.
does the card listener works for the magnetic stripe in same way .
and do we have any simulator to test our program
    thank you

I'm looking into how to read information from a
Magnetic Stripe Cards and not a Smart Card. My
question is, does Java Card API support this or is it
only Smart Cards ??You need a Strip Card Reader and Software, Nothing to do with Java Card, Which is for Smart Cards. Smart Cards are much safer than Magnetic Strips.

  • How to read 4GB SD cards

    Hello,
I'm currently trying to read data from an 4 GB SD card - but it isn't displayed in the explorer.
Is there any way to access the card (except via USB-cable - I only have the card here, not the camera).
    thanks for your advice,
    Eve

To be clear, "Eye-Fi" is a brand name, and there are multiple products that can add WiFi to the A58, those from Eye-Fi are just a few. The manufacturers of those cards will be able to tell you whether their products are compatible with the A58 better than Sony can, but Sony certainly hasn't intentionally done anything that would allow some WiFi cards to work but prevent others from working. Second, I would guess that Sony would prefer that you bought one of their cameras that had WiFi already, but the A58 has an option that appears on the Setup 2 menu that has the camera use an optional third-party WiFi card to upload photos and videos, so it certainly doesn't discourage their use.

  • How to read PC Graphic card FPS?

    HI,
I'm trying to make a simple VI that meassures and displays a PCs frame rate.  I am doing this as an enticement to my grandson who is a gamer.
I want to show him the power and ease of LabView.  I am a novice and have just completed LV core 1 &2.
I assume that I need to grab a parameter from my pc etc.
Thanks for any help you can give.

In addition to Nathan's answer you will find that the framerate in most modern games is constantly changing depending on how hard the graphics engine is working at any given moment.  Inside a cave with minimal objects you may have 100FPS, step outside and start rendering to the virtual horizon while simulating a rainstorm and Poof!, you're down to 25FPS.
You will have to query the game engine to get the current rate.  There's usually an option to display the FPS in most games.  I'm not sure how an external program would query that value while the game is playing.
Instead, how about a nice game of chess??? :  https://lavag.org/topic/18557-chess-game-chess-engine-100-labview/

  • How can I find Smart Card frequency ?

I have been developing an ATR parser class to parse ATR, calculate Bauds rate and and something like that, I have two question to ask:
    - first is that I don't know where can I find frequency value to calculate Bauds Rare?
    - second is that are we able to change any card bauds rate?

    Sebastien,
The ATR specifies the "FI" and "DI" parameters which are mapped to respectively the supported clock rate conversion factor F (and maximum frequency fs) and the bitrate adjustment factor D, all of which are used to calculate the ETU and bitrate. Refer to ISO/IEC 7816-3 Section 8, specifically Table 7 and 8.
The clock frequency used by the reader must be supported by the card for a given protocol (T=0, T=1, etc).
    EDIT:
This ties in with what you said about PPS exchange (a.k.a. protocol negotiation a.k.a. PTS request):
If the ATR indicates that protocol negotiation is allowed, the reader can send a PTS request to the card containing the reader's preferred choice of the FI and DI parameters for a transmission mode; the card's response will indicate whether those parameters can be used for subsequent communication. Alternatively, the reader can use the first protocol given in the ATR and default values for FI and DI.
This is just an overview - there are many more details regarding protocol negotiation; refer to ISO/IEC 7816 Sections 6.2.4, 6.3 and 9.
Note that protocol negotiation (PTS request) may take place at one time only: after the reader has received the ATR but before it sends any other traffic. Protocol negotiation does not follow the usual command-response APDU exchange format. For this reason the reader (or its driver) handles the negotiation transparently.
    I hope that clarifies things...

  • Sun Ray - How to get external USB Card Reader working

    Dear All,
i have the following problem. Maybe someone could help me or give me a clue to solve it.
    SunRay Software 5 installed
    Window 2003 R2 TerminalServer
    Here my question:
I use a kiosk session with a smart card to conncet to the windows server - works perfect.
    Login Screen and go.
Now i have to have to authenticate myself with an external usb card reader and smart
card (connected to the sun ray) to use a certain application on my win2003 server.
Via the windows rdp session (from the laptops) everthing is ok. The information from
the card reader is transferred to the server.
If i use the Sun Ray nothing happens. So here is my problem:
How do get the authentication information from the smart card to the server?
    Thanks in advance
    Best regards
    Hans-Peter

Basically, reinstall the Boot Camp video drivers manually and if that doesn't work then go to the AMD/Radeon website and install the Windows drivers directly for your video card model.
If you want to do a search you will find others that have pretty good luck doing it either way.

  • How to configure smart card login in sunray 2fs??

    Hi all,
Please help me to configure smart card login using Sun Ray Server Software 4.0... How to assign a smart card for a particular user? Do I need to flash th smart card for user information or any other method exists?

I'm not sure what you know or don't know about this so I'll give you what I know:
    1. Create a token reader and a token
    * Plugin a Sun Ray DTU/client
    * Check the MAC address of the Sun Ray you just plugged in
    * Access the Sun Ray admin GUI
    * Choose the 'Desktop Units' tab
    * See if your Sun Ray DTU is listed (if it isn't listed you have Sun Ray Server configuration issues...)
    * If it is listed click the identifier
    * Check the status of the DTU to see if this particular unit is already a token reader (normally it is not, i.e. by default a Sun Ray DTU is not)
    * Click 'Edit'
    * Check 'Token Reader'
    * Click 'OK'
    * /opt/SUNWut/sbin/utrestart (I'm not sure if a warm restart is OK or a hard restart is necessary)
Now insert a shiny new Java card into your token reader's slot
    * In the Sun Ray admin GUI choose the 'Tokens' tab
    * Search for currently used tokens
    * You should see a token identifier such as 'Payflex.blah' under your desktop unit (i.e. the token reader)
    * Click the token identifier and click 'Edit'
    * Assign a username (i.e. Unix username) to the token under 'Owner'
    * Click 'OK' and remove the smart card from the token reader
    2. Assign the Token
    * Insert your smart card from step 1 into the token reader
    * In the Sun Ray GUI click 'Tokens' and 'New'
    * Under 'Identifier' you should see 'Read Identifier from Token Reader' checked
    * Click 'Read Token'
    * Assign an owner (i.e. Unix user account) and a session type (Kiosk or Regular)
    * Click 'OK'
Item 2 from the notes I used for this looks alot like item 1 so I can't say that it is strictly necessary.
I don't have a Sun Ray Server accessible to me at the moment to confirm but this procedure should help I hope.

  • Token and smart card reader are not detected on Mavericks if not plugged on a USB port during system boot

Well, both token and smart card reader are not detected on OS X 10.9 if not plugged on a USB port during system boot. So, if I am already working within the system and need to use my certificates I have to plug the token or smart card reader on a USB port and restart Mavericks.
Token is a GD Starsign and Smart Card Reader is a SCR3310 v2.
    Thoughts?

SCS is a very good app, since I've read that Apple has discontinued support for PC/SC interfaces after the release of Mountain Lion.
(My previous installation was a Mavericks upgrade from Lion)
However, I don't know what and how to debug using Smart Card Services. Do you know any commands to use?
Apparently, the SC reader reports no issues: the LED is blinking blue when no smart card is present and becomes fixed blue when a smart card is inserted – according to the manuals, this shows that there is correct communication between the OS and the CCID reader.
I don't know what to do; I'm beginning to hypothesize it's a digital signer issue. In fact, my smart card only supports one application called File Protector (by Actalis) to officially sign digital documents. This application seems to have major difficulties in identifying the miniLector EVO.
The generic and ambiguous internal error comes when I try to manually identify the peripheral.
Athena CNS is one of the Italian smart cards and is automatically recognized and configured (so it's correct – no doubts about this), while "ACS ACR 38U-CCID 00 00" seems to be the real name of the miniLector.
(I'm assuming this because System Information also returns that the real manufacturer is ACS... bit4id is a re-brander)
However, when I click on it and then tap OK, it returns internal error.
As first attempt, I would try to completely erase&clean File Protector files to try a reinstall. Then, if this still doesn't work, I'd debug using the terminal.
    So:
    - Do you know any applications to 100% clean files created by an installer?
    - Do you have in mind any solutions that I might have forgotten?
Thanks in advance from an OS X fan!

  • Smart card reader refusing to work on OS X Mavericks

    Hi,
I am the owner of a bit4id Minilector EVO, a little smart card reader (manufactured by ACS Advanced Card Systems) who I use to comply with the digital signatures required by the Italian law.
There is an official application to use the smart cards; however, I'm experiencing major issues with it.
    Shortly:
    - When I plug the bit4id smart card reader into the USB port of my MBP, the LED shows it is recognized; System Information also tells it has been fully implemented into OS X
    - When I then insert the smart card, no issues are reported and the bit4id LED becomes fixed;
But, when I start the application to digitally sign, it tries to detect what cryptographic module I'm using. It detects the correct one but reports an «Internal error» halting the process.
I know there is an implementation of PCSC for OS X called PCSC-Lite, and that there is a terminal command to show if all is working properly.
    Something like pcsc[something] .
    Can you help me?
    Thanks in advance,
    Tyrexionibus

  • Acrobat 9 does not recognize the smart card reader that work with other app. Can someone help me?

    Hi to All,
Acrobat 9 (included in CS4 design premium) does not recognize the smart card reader. I have a smart card reader ACR38 smart card that works with all applications except Acrobat 9 pro. I tried to uninstall and reinstall it again, but when I try to insert the digital signature message is always the same, that does not find the Acrobat reader. Can someone help me?

    Hi MartinR
Thank you for your reply, i have tried what you suggest, and it did not work, the i DVD opening title changed but not the embedded movie.
Perhaps it is a setting in Final Cut Express?
After capturing my footage, i open a new project then i convert all clips to anamorphic, to give me the letterbox effect, i have tried now with and without anamorphic.
In my canvas screen, the footage does not fill the square, even if i have not selected anamorphic, and fall well within the TV safe areas, but the only way to ill the canvas up is to crop it bigger, but still when i export it does not give me the full screen view.
    Any ideas?

  • Access to smart card reader on Win 8.1 RDP Host

    Hi,
I have a customer that has a couple of Windows 8.1 Pro computers, that has a smart card reader in the local keyboard.
Until a few months ago, they could RDP to the desktop computer from a RDP client such as another Windows PC, a Mac or a mobile device.
The problem is now that when accessing the desktop computer (with the smart card reader keyboard) from a RDP client, the smart card reader is not available in the RDP session anymore. This prevents them from logging on to an application in the network that
    requires their smart card.
Can someone perhaps point me in a direction where this can be solved, either with the MS RDP host or with some 3rd party RDP host applications?
(Teamviewer or similar remote support applications works, but that is not what the customer want...)
Since it worked like a charm up until 2-3 months ago, there must have been some update to Win 8.1 that prevents this by default?
    Thanks in advance,
    /Mikael Forslund

    Hi Mikael Forslund,
I am supposing you attempted to use smart card reader connected directly to Remote Desktop terminal. Basically your RDP session should redirected smart card reader to the client side and will not see readers connected to the host side
because enable Safety equipment such like smart card reader will cause highly insecure and that is not by design.
We suggest using smart card reader on local RDP client for your issue.
“The reverse is also true; if you RDP into a session from the start you will never see any local smartcard readers as Winscard will detect it’s running in an RDP session and no calls to Winscard will ever reach the local PC/SC layer –
everything will be redirected to the connecting client.”

    Hi Guys,
I have just enabled smart card login to my mac but want to disable the password login option (i.e. I can login with smart card but if I don't plugin the card reader/card, I am prompted for password login). How can I enforce smart card only login?
    Many Thanks

Are you getting all user icons, plus the smartcard icon, or just the smartcard icon and "Other..." ?
If the latter, then disable root user (which displays the "Other..." prompt on the login window, even if smartcards login is enabled).
