Support for the A7 was added in the latest version of Camera Raw 8.3 back in December. Adobe only updates shipping products so you’d need to upgrade to PSE12:

An alternative is to use the free Adobe DNG Converter to create DNGs from your ARWs, one folder at a time. The DNGs will have the added information that older versions of the ACR plug-in need to open the files.

Current Lightroom / Camera Raw Camera Profile for Sony ILCE-6000 inaccurate: green cast in shadows! Capture one better! Please fix it!

Please take note that the current Lightroom / Adobe Camera Raw Camera Profile for the Sony ILCE-6000 is very inaccurate: There is a serious green cast in the shadows!
Capture One Express for Sony (which is free by the way) renders a lot more correctly!
Please correct this, since I'd rather buy the coming LR6 because of keeping my established workflow instead of going the Capture One route.
A good example can be found in the dpreview forum "LR5 A6K shadow pulling, a mess! Adobe LR is broken? "
Or search for Philp Reeves 3 weeks with the Sony A6000 review "3 Wochen mit der a6000", where he compares it to the Sony A7, using both times Lightroom to push the shadows.
The Sony A7 is fine where earth looks like brown earth, the A6000 picture looks like grass instead.
Please fix this! This is a high volume camera frequently bought by enthusiast or as second body for FF photographers. That would be really great!

I am talking about the two raw files linked in the very last post of page 6 of the Reeves comparison thread, not JPGs or screenshots of unknown manipulation. In LR they both say f/11 and ISO 100 and have a similar tone, but one is shot at twice the shutter speed as the other. This side-by-side is using Adobe Factory Defaults for each image where the profile is Adobe Standard, the toning sliders are all 0, tone-curve linear, and the Sharpening and Color NR are 25:
However, when I look at the camera-embedded JPGs, side-by-side, the 1/80th image on the left is darker than the 1/40th image on the right, as expected given the reported shutter-speed difference:
And it is indeed the darker image that has more shadow problems, also as expected.
When I do manipulate the darker (a6000) raw file in LR, I do see that the shadows are greenish when brightened unlike most other cameras which usually show magenta, which is the combination of the blue and red sensors showing more noise because there are half-as-many photosites as compared to the green, so I am seeing what people are complaining about and would expect shadow noise to be purple not green, I'm more concerned that these two example raws aren't actually comparable due to apparent differences in exposure. It is also odd that the lens listed in LR is different than the lens listed in the filename, so either someone has mistakenly or deliberately renamed the file wrong or someone or something has changed the EXIF parameters that LR is reporting to be the same when they're really not.

Camera raw for sony alpha 7 and PS 5

I am an amateur photographer and am very happy in my little PS5 world. I do not want to commit to PS6 and the CC and a lifetime of fees. I am, unfortunately, thinking about getting the sony alpha 7. It is unclear to me if camera raw 6.7 will support it. I have read 2 different answers on the internet
I love camera raw in PS. If I can't open these images in PS, can I do it in lightroom? Does lightroom have a nice camera raw? (I am using camera raw 6.3 and it is wonderful.)
Is there any easy answer for a very casual photographer who cannot justify the cost of monthly program fees?

The Alpha 7 wasn't supported until Camera Raw 8.3 at the end of last year. ACR 8.3 only works in CS6/CC.
I recommend using the latest available version of Camera Raw for each version of CS, which in your case (CS5) is 6.7.1. The latest versions are usually the best, fixing the most bugs and containing refinements missing from earlier versions.
The cheapest way to carry on with CS5 is to download Adobe DNG Converter, and batch-convert folders of your Alpha files to DNG. It's an extra step after downloading your images, but it's free.
Camera Raw 6.7.1 and DNG Converter 8.6 are both available from the downloads section of the Adobe website. Please note that you may need DNG Converter 8.3 if you are still running CS5 on XP/Vista or (Snow-) Leopard.
Photoshop Lightroom is designed by the same team which writes Camera Raw and uses very similar programming. Consequently, it works in a similar way to Camera Raw (with Bridge) and is updated at the same time—following its version numbering by a increment of 3 (currently Lightroom 5.6). You could buy Lightroom and use it to import and convert your raw files without using DNG Converter and Camera Raw. It's a Marmite thing: some people love it, some don't. You can probably download a free trial and find out for yourself. Once you have converted your images in Lightroom, you can export them to Photoshop CS5 for editing.

How system read transaction for movement type

Dear friends,
We are facing problem - in case of movement type 101 system is reading PRD transcation key for valaue of inventory with another transaction key WRX. I dont know the logic how system read transction key.
If I use 101 movemment type then how system reads transcation key ie. GBB, PRD etc..... I need to know that logic . Please let me know and give me transction code to same I can check for other movement types.

Tcode OBYC is where all these transactions keys and all the G/ls are assigned to them.
There are normal accounting entries at time of GR i.e.
Material - Debit
GR/IR - Credit
AT IR:
Vendor - Credit
GR/IR - Debit
Now on above entries, system looks for transaction key for material and post its entry and then key for Gr/IR and posts the credit
entry in case of GR and vice versa for IR.

Camera RAW for Sony RX-100 M2

I have PhotoShop CS4 and CS6. Bought Sony RX-100 M2. Adobe supports this camera for RAW files. I downloaded the latest DNG converter but still can't open RAW files. Was that the right thing to do? File extension is ARW. Would appreciate help. I'm not very computer literate, so please respond in simple English. Thanks.

Interesting -- when I tried to insert an ARW file here I'm told I can't upload that file type. Anyway, I think I've got it worked out. I have to move the images into a folder -- can't open individual files -- must open a folder. So I moved three RAW files into a folder, choosing to open in DNG converter application, and it allowed me to open the images in the folder and I selected to convert to DNG. Not exactly what I wanted, but at least it works. I read that converting to DNG reduces the RAW image, so again, not optimum. Thanks again for your assistance.

i have Elements 11 and can not activate the update for Camara raw . At the moment is version 7.1 active.....but i need a higher version for my cameras. So what can i do now?

I downloaded DNGConverter_7_4.exe but i have the same problem ....Element can not open the raw files of my camere because Camera raw 7.1 is active....how can i change it? Sorry for my bad english ....anybody here for german?

Reading TC for Sony FS100

Hi,
Does anyone know if PP CS5.5 can read the timecode from the native Sony FS100 files? Hopefully, I am doing something wrong.
I have tried reading the TC with PP 5.03 and PP 5.5 on Windows 7 and it does not read the timecode. I copied my video from the camera
to my hard drive with Sony's CMU and the timecode comes over but PP doesn't see it.
I have tried importing individual files and also importing the whole folder that Sony's CMU makes.
I have tried setting on the "Write XMP ID to files on import" and "Enable Clip and Metadata linking".

Copying with Sony's software should be fine if it keeps the entire AVCHD folder structure (that's what the FS100 is, if I recall correctly) intact; if it just dumps everything in one folder, you'll lose the timecode and other metadata, like that which is used for clip spanning. If it's keeping the folder structure as it was shot, and Premiere Pro still isn't reading the TC, you might have encountered a bug. Historically, there have been a few snafus with PPro and its reading of AVCHD timecode, and since this camera rolled out after CS5.5, it's possible that something slipped through the cracks. But before going down that road, check that you have the PRIVATE folder and everything on down in place; if some key component of the folder structure is missing, timecode is not read.
Also, you don't have to use the Media Browser to import AVCHD and have the metadata read, again, so long as the folder structure is in place. It's certainly convenient to use the Media Browser, but Premiere Pro doesn't care how you bring the material in, so long as everything is right on your hard drive.

How to read char() for bit data DB2's type in Oracle?

I am trying to read a DB2'sfield with the "char() for bit data" type from Oracle, but I can't read it.
I have trying:

I have to synchronize unidirectionally from the Oracle database to DB2. And I'd like to save the information of the record of DB2 prior to the update operation.
And here is where the problem arises for me, because when I try to read from Java with the connection established on DB2 is unable to interpret the information. While there are no problems from Oracle to consume the information, it happens that DB2 field types are not common with Oracle, such as char () for bit data. From what I could find the equivalent in Oracle would be raw (), but since Java is possible to read this type of information... And this is my doubt, it is necessary to do any type of cast or to do a special view to retrieve this information?

Problem with camera raw for Sony 350K and PSE 6

I have recently tried to download my first batch of RAW pictures taken with a Sony A350K camera into PSE6 but I am told the format is not recognised. I thought I had successfully down loaded ACR 4.6 but apparently not as they are still not recognised. Can anyone throw any light on what I might be doing wrong?

If you have left the old version of Camera Raw.8bi in the folder, even if you have renamed it, Photoshop will still use it.

Programtically how to read groups for given role

I have scenario like this.
1. Create a group called "officeAdmin"
2. Create a group called "users" under group "officeAdmin"
3. Create a user called "companyadministrator" under "everyone" tree structure
of admin portal
4. create delegated administrator role called "companyrole" for a user "companyadministrator"
5. assign "companyrole" to group "officeAdmin".
so user "companyadministrator" will be administrator for "officeadmin" group
and its child.
Now my requirements is when "companyadministrator" login i should get only groups
which he can administer i.e in this case i should get only "officeadmin" and "users"
groups.
Please help me how i should programatically get the groups "officeadmin" and "users"
when "companyadministrator" logs in.
test the scenaio : create the above scenario using admin portal and then login
as "companyAdministrator" and you can see only "officeAdmin" and its child groups.

I found this to be true as well. We solved the problem by populating a session variable "GROUP" then initilizing the values at login, which requires you to connect to LDAP everytime a session is created. If you are assisgning privs to the groups they need to be manually created in the repository so that the priv/Subject Area assignments can be made. How to read channel for channel and appended data for appended data?

Good day,
I wrote a little program that saves blocks of data after a trigger to a
file, it will append these blocks off data as much times as you set it.
Each appended data block has a time stamp and a signal path and burst
number as a header.
I use the storage way to save it to TDM format. This all seems to work nicelly.
Now is my question:
Afterwards i want to read each block or burst seperatelly. How can I do
this. I can't seem to find an easy way to read just one data block in
the file.

The list of supported cameras lists the A7 (or ILCE 7) but not the new A7 II.

It is supported in PSE13 or Lightroom 5.7.1 & Photoshop CC updated to ACR 8.7.1
