Hi.
I downloaded Steve jobs biography but I'm unable to play part 2 or 3. I go to purchases but there is no option to redownload. When I go to iTunes confirmation email and click purchase history or report a problem it says "unable to connect to iTunes" although I'm already on iTunes and logged in fine... I then deleted part 1 hoping that then it would allow me to download all 3 parts. This is not the case.... When I go to the iTunes Store the book won't give me the option to redownload, it just says 'downloaded'. Can anyone advise? Quite ironic based on the story of Steve jobs vision....

Why can't I purchase steve jobs biography in itunes singapore site?

I am an apple fan even since the launch of iphone and ipad. However, i find that there is limited use for ipad as there aren't many books i can purchase in Singapore itunes as compared to amazon kindle. Taking Steve Jobs biography for example, being the founders for apple ipad, I am surprise that this is not available in Singapore itunes. I had understand that this book is available in US itunes. Tried to purchase but was declined.
Please help.

If it is not available in your countrys itunes store, then you cannot buy it.
You can buy ONLY from the itunes store of your country of residence AND ONLY while you are physically inside the borders of that country.

Is iTunes 11 how the post Steve Jobs era will look like?

i am absolutely disappointed with this new release. I am a so called "early adopter" and build my complete media around Apple products (3 Mac's, MacBook Air, iPad3. iPhone5 and 4 Apple TV's) But there are many things in iTunes 11 that i miss badly:
1. Cover Flow (most important)
2. Dark Background (Grid)
3. Search behavior
4. Speed and responsiveness is too slow (my library is >40.000 songs)
5. The function to resize album art to my needs
I switched back to 10.7 what was not easy anyway and i am hoping that you will bring these features back. I do not want to go back to windows (i switched completely to Apple 5 Years ago).
iTunes 11 is a dealbreaker to me.

How to read a job log

Hi,
I have a data load from an ODS to an Infocube that is not working.
I can see a SYSFAIL message in the job log, but I can't understand what it means?
this is the log. Can anybody help me out and tellme what is wrong in the data load?

what is the context?
I loaded data from R/3 to the ODS succesfully. Now, I want to pass the data from the ODS to an Infocube, so, I selected "Update ODS Data in Dta Target", and then I selected "Initial Update". Once in the Scheduler I check there was no prior init load. The only available "Processing" option is "Data Target Only", so I can't choose "PSA only". I check the Update Mode is Initialize Delta Process (grey), and I choose "Start later in background", with immediate start.
There is 140,000 records in the ODS.
The Update rule does nothing but passing the data up to the cube.
what is the sympthom?
Once the load is running, I can see the process working with SM50.
I check the monitor and the data is been read and written into the infocube, but the process is really slow.
After some time the monitor shows no changes, and the job log shows one or more messages like:
tRFC: Data package = 000003, TID = AC1403113BE243F0F3FE0009, duration = 00:10:18, ARFCSTATE = SYSFAIL
and some time later the monitor goes red by time out.
that's what is going on.

How to read a book from ipad on mac

Hi;
I purchased a book using my ipad. I thought I would sit at my Mac and read it there for a while. I went into my iTunes and did find it in the iTunes Library and when I clicked on it I got a pop up that said I could not read it on the Mac because it was not an IOS device?
Does anyone have a suggestion?

You can't currently read most ibooks on a Mac, only in the iBooks app on an iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. If it's a free ibook, or from a publisher such as O'Reilly (who don't put digital rights management on their books), then you might be able to read it in Calibre or Adobe Digital Editions.
For other ibooks, to read them on your Mac you will need to wait until OS X Mavericks is released later this year which will have an ibooks program with it : http://www.apple.com/osx/preview/#ibooks

She is also fun to play with. I asked her to tell me a joke, she came back with, " Two iPhones walk in a bar, I forget the rest. LOL. you all have an ad with this joke. I haven't asked her any questions on sports yet. I like figure skating in the winter olympics beacause it's so graceful.

How to get the job logs from sm35 by using the queue id and session name?

hi all,
can any one please let me know how to read the job log from sm35 by using the session name and queue id. i have the job name and job count but is it possible to download the job log by using the queue id and session name.
FYI..
i want to read this job log and i want to send it to an email id.
-> i am using the job_open and submitting the zreport via job name and job count and then i am using the function module job_close.
but this is not working in my scenario i have the queue id and session name by using this two i want to get the job log is there any function module available or code please provide me some inputs.

It depends if and how Apple screws us.
For instance I had the PowerMac G5 Duallie with a 30" monitor and Steve Jobs announced the Intel processor swtich, two years later then wouldn't provide OS X 10.6 for my machine so I had to sell it while I could. So I lost about 5-7 years futher producive use of the machine.
Then the 2007 4 year old 15" MacBook Pro I had was working perfectly fine under Snow Leopard, but after I upgraded it to OS X Lion the firmware bricked the machine and Apple would refuse to pay to fix it.
It was their fault too, because Cupertino HQ was pwned by the 750,000 Mac Flashback botnet and OS X Lion was likely tainted by malware to cause such a massive amount of logicboard replacements that were required at the time.
It used to be that Apple (under Steve Jobs) would ignore older Mac's and OS X versions for security updates unless they ran the last two OS X operating system versions, but after Flashback they had to go back and fix so many machines they don't dare to that again.
But Apple has other ways now to force you to upgrade your operating system, especially AppStore as developers will tend ot make programs for the latest OS X version only.
It wouldn't be too bad to upgrade OS X but for the fact that doing so bricks so much of your third party software in the process, gives bad and unwanted features, and then tends slows one's machine down to a crawl as the newer OS X versions are created with newer hardware in mind, not older.
So Apple is basically leveraging more software features and iOS devices to force a faster hardware turnover rate so they can make more money. A lot of the features they are adding are not really used all that much a lot of it is just change for the heck of change and putting a new fancy paint job on the Apple hardware.
"Oh look new OS X, buy a new machine!"
So you have a choice to either keep up with the rapid Apple hardware cycle or buy a Windows machine that will last a decade or more per operating system version.
I know people who still have 10 year old XP machines and they are now getting 10 year life Windows 7 machines.
Apple seems to tie to much features to a new boated OS X version and forcing one to upgrade instead of using OS X and a base and adding new features on top of it if people want it or not. Mac's are laughed out of most corporate enviroments except for a few CEO's , top brass that remain off the networks.
So my turnover rate with Apple hardware since Steve Jobs return has been anywhere from 2-4 years on average, before that it was a lot longer, I could use a machine for a long time like 5-7 years.
I'm hoping with this 17" MacBook Pro lovingly taken care of that I can exceed 5 years, but it's not going to happen because Apple is going to drop support for Snow Leopard 10.6 and the newer operating systems are bloated pieces of ugly crap tied to AppStore/AppleID etc. so the erosion to personal privacy is absolute. They just do things and don't care about what users need or want, it's sickening they think they know what's best for everyone and you need to get aboard their way or tak ethe highway. It's so bad now that even Microsoft has gotten into the customer abuse game with Windows 8.
To reinstall OS X requires a fast Internet connection and I can't trust if the software hasn't been tainted along the way or not. What is wrong with proving USB instlal keys with every new Mac?
Glossy screens and unable to physically remove the storage for secure destruction.
I also don't like the threat that Apple is going to forbid installing software from outside sources, they are already doing everything they can to discourage outside sources, calling them malicious etc. We have been installing software from trusted outside sources for decades with no trouble at all.
They are doing everything possible to drive me and others away as customers and after 20 years I will be finally giving them the boot very shortly.
They can go on making computers only for children, but the Mac professional/power user is a dying breed.

How to: Auto mounting and recheck on a Mac

Hello all, i've been using the below for a couple of months on my WD, its worked great in all that time and havent had an issue. The reason I started using this was so that my PLEX software would always be able to access my WD and stream, as they are located on difference machines. I have no idea if anyone has found a better way, but for me this is the best I could initally find and then adapt to make it more centric to my needs. We're going to make an automator application, so on your desktop goto 'GO -> Applications -> Automator'When Autormator loads up, click new doccument and then select 'Application'. We want application because we can make this process automatic on log in, and as an application we wont need the automator software to load up. With the new application, search of 'AppleScript' in the search bar and then drag across Applescript into your work flow. Copy and paste the below into the box, changing what your need. If you only want to mount one share, then its just { "ONESHARENAME" } without the need for a comma. property myDisks : {"YOUR", "SHARE", "NAMES", "HERE"}

end repeat If you were to save this now, whenever you double click the application it would mount the said shares for you without needing you to log in or select which shares you want to mount. The reason I use AFP (this scipt works with SMB too for windows users BUT....) is that it is unbelieveably faster than SMB, however, I did notice that the connection would randomly unmount itsself if it hasnt been used for a couple of hours - which makes sense I suppose, but for my system - it needs to be ALWAYS mounted. So with just two more steps we can make it so the script will automatically check every 10 minutes for the shares, and if they arent mounted then it will remount them again wihtout any human intervention or popups. STEP 2). Drag another blank applescript underneath the one we just created. Paste in it; on run {input, parameters}

end run Delay 300 is how many seconds it will wait before redoing the check. STEP 3).We now need to make this loop infinitely for an always on system, or atleast always doing it whilst you are using the computer. Where you initally searched for the term 'Applescript', delete that off and search for 'Loop'. Drag the loop option below the two applescripts and select the options;"Loop automatically" and for everytime write -1 -1 is importnant as this makes the loop cycle infinite, then finally the last setting is "use the original input". Save it as an Application somewhere, then goto your System settings, USER, Login items, click the + to add one, and search for where you just saved this application and.. Success! Everytime you log in or start the mac, it will initiate this always on script . Hopefully someone else finds this useful. The inital part of the script was found on the internet somewhere, I cant find the link now to give credit, it was adpated for multiple shares and the log in section.

Good catch! Yes there was a time when many companies and other organizations did that sort of thing. Now not so much.

You might also check around, there might be after school programs, sometimes the YMCA or Boys & Girls Clubs have programs.
