How to rearrange page search

Hi,
I have a PDF document where, on one PDF page, there is the equivalent of 4 pages. In other words, PDF page 1 will contain 4 pages of a real book, PDF page 2 will contain the following 4, etc.
If i search for page 2, for instance, PDF will send me to the page that contains pages 5-8 (of the real book).
Is there a way so that if i search for page 2, it sends me to page 1 of the PDF file. With that same logic, if i choose page 6, it would send me to page 2 of the PDF file.

You'll need to split the page by cropping the main page 4 different ways,
and then re-combine them as a new file in the correct order. This can be
done either manually or by using a script.

When I try to rearrange pages in Plan view, the pages appear to move as long as I'm holding the mouse button and dragging. When I release at the new position, nothing happens. The pages remain in the same order. Am I supposed to do something more/different?

When you rearrange pages in Plan mode, you need to drop it (or release the mouse button) when the blue'ish color appears between the pages (or underneath to make it a child page) during the drag operation. Here's a short video demonstration of it.

However, if it still doesn't work in your case, could you please confirm if yours is a graphic heavy site with too many pages. If that is the case, try to disable the Thumbnail/Master badge (and reduce the size of the thumbnails using the slider) option available right above the sitemap in order to reduce the overall load.

When you select the search box, one of the options in the popup below it should be Search Current Webpage - highlight that, type in your text, and then press the 'search' button on the keyboard. You should then get Next, Previous, and Close buttons at the top of the screen

I have separate fragments for Search Box to enter keyword and Search Result to display the result. Also I have different sections within the page to put these fragments. So how could I display the results without reloading the whole page.
Also if I have next button in my search result area, how could I display the search results in next page without reloading all other sections present in our page. Please let me know if any service or idoc function present such that result could be shown in search result section without reloading whole page.
Please let me know how to restrict page reload for every action within a page.

This is default behaviour of the template of your space. You can create a new page template and than you can create a region for the search results.
Or you can create a custom taskflow were you use the webcenter taskflows to search for the space.

How to Implement the Search page for Workflow Notifications?

Hi All,
I want to implement the new Search page for Workflow Notifications. Search page containing Company, Paygroup, Source, Initiator, Supplier Name, From date & To date fields. These fields(Poplist & Calendar) are getting the values from different tables and these fields are not in WF_NOTIFICATIONS table only Initiator & dates are there. After selecting the values in all fields or one field based upon these values I want to display the all Workflow Notifications ( Those are satisfy the search criteria only not all ) in Advance Worklist Table RN in the Notifications page. Is it possible to create the Search page based upon the above scenario if Yes Let me know how to implement this search page for Workflow. Page was designed but how to get the sortlisted Notifications and how to pass these values to next page?

Hi Guru,
I crete the Search page having 5 poplists and select the values from dropdown list and click GO button it serch the records and displays that records in ResultsTable in same page.
My case, Search page is running fine if I select the values and click GO button page is refreshed without errors but I am unable to displays the records in ResultsTable.
What I am missing?

Did you have a look at the "Page layouts and site templates" page under Site Settings? On this page you can enable an option that limits the available page layouts to a specified list of page layouts.
I have worked on a project where we needed to limit the page layouts available on a custom site definition. We implemented this in a feature, that enabled the "limited page layouts" option and populated the list of available page layouts upon activation.
If this is the issue you are having you could simply turn off this option in the web interface or add the new page layouts manually, but you could also consider implementing a feature receiver that automatically adds your custom page layouts to the list
of available layouts.

How do you "power search"on the new itunes?

How does one power search on the new itunes? Is it still possible?

In addition, since that search window is part of the iTunes' Main Page, I have to wait for that page to load before I can do my search. Before, I could click on the Power Search link, and it would abandon the load and bring me to the Power Search page. Now, since the Main Page takes so long to load, I have to wait for that to finish before I can search.
In other words, I have to wait for iTunes to show me what it wants me to buy, before I can tell it what I want to buy.
Kinda like going into a record store and getting a saleman who tries to sell me the latest hits before he will listen to what it is I came in to buy. The attitude is completely wrong.

How do I make search case sensitive

I created a search region of type "query" using a simpleSearchPanel. The instructions say the search is case-sensitive when running the page but it appears it is not. Can anyone tell me how to make the search case sensitive?

Please check if you have followed these guidelines
Rule 2 : If your view attribute is of type String(VARCHAR2), and if the item has the Selective Search Criteria property set to false, then OA Framework generates a case-insensitive simple WHERE clause based on the CRITERIA_CONDITION and the CRITERIA_VALUE.

How to add a search engine manually to Firefox. (No, not via add ons)

How to add a search engine manually to Firefox?
For example, what should I do add a custom search engine? It is not available via add-ons. When I go to the search page, Firefox doesn't detect it and it doesn't prompt me or allow me to add it as a search provider. I am looking for options similar to that in Chromium browser.
let's say for instance, if I want to add redhat bugzilla to my search providers, I can go to search settings and just add https://bugzilla.redhat.com/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=%s
Is there any similar option available in Firefox?

I am using "http://api.google.com/GoogleSearch.wsdl" file to implement google search in portal application. but i am not able to get the search result. how to implement google search. is this "http://api.google.com/GoogleSearch.wsdl" is vaild now ?. how to achieve the soultion.

Hi Shanthakumar,
The "GoogleSearch.WSDL" is no longer available as google has replaced it with the new AJAX based searching and they have eventually removed it from public use as well from 7th September 2009. So, I would imagine you would not be able to use the earlier WSDL file for google search. You might have to look in using the new "AJAX Search API".
