How to rebuild thumbnails in Apple Photos?
After converting my entire iPhoto Library over to Photos Library, I now have numerous thumbnails that are showing for the wrong photos. I also have some thumbnails that are showing digital artifacts. I've tried rebuilding the Photos Library twice, and both times none of the issues were fixed. Is there any way to simply force Photos to rebuild the thumbnails from scratch?

Iphoto shut down importing new photo (and rebuilding thumbnails too)
I'm using iphoto '11 9.1.15 (615) and i think it is the latest one and Lion.
I last imported some photos on july 02 and everything was right. Then after july 14 i installed Lion and i could also use iphoto but for some day i have used it only to see my old photo.
Same day ago i tried to import new photo and iphoto had sudden shut down during import.
First i have tried to rebuild library using cmd alt at start up, issue remained.
So using cmd alt at iphoto start up I cheecked all and i have obteined only that now thumbnails are disappeared.
Now also if I try to rebulid thumnails iphoto immediatly shuts.
I've tried to rebuid library using Iphoto Library Manager butI have this message of error:
iPhoto has unexpectedly quit while importing the event "Rullino ...". If you would like to relaunch iPhoto and continue the merge starting with the event "Rullino ...", click "Continue". If you would like to continue, but skip the event "Rullino ...", click "Skip". If you would like to stop the merge, click "Cancel".
Repairing permissions of Iphto and of iphoto library didn't help.
At end i have tried also using a new account and a new library importi a single photo adn issue is still there.
Any time I start iphoto it says "rebuilding thumbnails cache" but nothing happen.
No message of error appear when iphoto shuts improperly is there any places were i could look for it ? (Logs ?)
I think to have said evrything helping you to help me but i'try to answer any of yours question.

I have a different Apple id on my PowerBook from that on my iMac and iPad. Photo Stream does not connect to my Powerbook. How do I change the Apple id in iCloud on my PowerBook? Will this link all 3 machines to PhotoStream?
You can't simply change the details.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button) -
Since installing the last iPhoto update sharing a photo via e-mail opens a google e-mail format instead of an Apple Mail format. How can I get the Apple Mail format to come up when I click on share?

Hi, i had some animal photos that i added to photo stream and at the buttom of the folder it says "shared by me"... i want to see those photos on my apple tv,
there is also a folder in photo stream named "my photo stream".
i can only see "MY PHOTO STREAM" photos on my apple tv, how can i see the other photos that i added to photo stream? like the animal pics.

Just want to know why Apple have not made an options menu to remove duplicate photos in iPhoto? I know about downloads you can purchase to delete Dups, but I'm very interested to find out from apple themselves as to why they left this out, to die without knowing this is like having viruses on a pc or waiting for the web page to pop up on windows...

You could have more 5 computers authorized if you ever, for example, reformatted a hard drive or replaced a hard drive without deauthorizing the computer first. Apple's system would see that as a different computer, even though you don't. There's nothing to be afraid of in deauthorizing everything and the reauthorizing what you actually have. You won't lose any data. Mistimp is correct, they can't tell you which computers are authorized. -
How do I get rid of "Apple Photo Streams.exe has stopped working" on Windows 7
The error message "Apple Photo Stream.exe has stopped working" keeps popping up when I start my PC which has a 64 bit Windows 7 OS. How do I get rid of this?
I saw that uninstalling and then reinstalling the iCloud control panel on your computer corrects it. I did this and it worked for a while but I'm getting it again. Any ideas?? Thanks!

Apple Senior tech lady deleted all my external drive data while sorting out other problem. How can I restore all my photos , music etc back to my Mac Pro?(I am so scared, I haven't connected iPhone to sync! Please help)
It was tele tech. I couldn't open my Page Numbers etc. Frist tech chat idiot - following dumping few things in bin, asked me yo upgrade to Yosemite. But the problem still persists. This morning I was asked to do it via telephone and like yesterday, after wasting 20 min, I was put to this apparent Tech Queen ( my foot!). She eventually decided to reinstall Yosemite asked me to connect my external drive while I connected to her. She was moving cursor asking me to move files and delete and I followed her like a dummy. It took 3/4 hours and she called me 3 times once the lengthy process was completed. I suspected from the beginng for the fact that why should be asking me to click all my backup from the very beginning! Eventually she said I deleted... Or someone else or may be my children ! It was a blatant lie. I run my small business from home and I was simply staying in front of the Mac whole day! Children were at school. Then she said I must have used another computer! I only have laptop and the iPad. I will talk to their manager first thing in the morning. In the mean time please let me know as to how can I transfer photos, music etc back to my laptop from my Iphone and IPad .? I am will connect to laptop as I am worried the new BLANK iPhoto may supersede iphone/iPad stuff? Will it? Please let me know. I am not a very tech savvy person. My son who could help me, is in Manchester Uni and Inam in London.

Hi,
Apple TV will not show thumbnails of my photos from iPhoto. It shows the thumbnail placeholders, and if you clik one of those the image comes up normally. With 7K photos it's hard to guess which photo is which. Thumbnails do show on my MoblieMe galleries, though. I only stream movies and there is more than 3/4 empty space on the ATV.
I would appreciate any help,

How can I check for duplicates in Apple Photos?
Can't use my existing apps to check for duplicates in Apple Photos as they only work with iPhoto folders. Any ideas how I can get around this gap?

After a rebuild/repair of my photo library thumbnails are missing for RAW images.
Every few months I rebuild my iPhoto library to make sure the database stays clean and up to day. This time was different though - after the rebuild/repair of my photo library thumbnails are missing for all RAW images (Canon). Images from other cameras and jpegs are all fine. Only the events with Canon RAW images have no thumbnails.
I am rebuilding the thumbnails once again but has anyone else seen this issue? Losing thumbnails to RAW images during a rebuild?Every few months I rebuild my iPhoto library to make sure the database stays clean and up to day.
There is no need to do this. It doesn't achieve anything.
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to rebuild the thumbnails. It can take 3 or 4 goes for this to work -

Check with your email provider. Blocking images is a function they usually can provide.

Incorrect. Photos added to the Camera Roll are automatically uploaded to Photo Stream. Photos deleted from the Camera Roll are not automatically deleted from Photo Stream.
