How to recognize LG Android Phone on Mac 10.6.8

Hello,
First time forum user here. I'm attempting to resolve an issue with accessing my cellphone without having to hard reset and lose the data contained therein. I do not have access to my phone because the service is not connected, and my gmail account info and pattern lock (the two available unlock methods) appear to be invalid. I believe internet and/or cellular service is required.
I have connected my phone to my MBP, which recognizes the device under System Profiler > USB > USB Hub as an LGE Android Device. My phone is also displaying the 'usb connected' icon so this rules out any connectivity issue.
However, upon connecting the device and using the AndroidFileTransfer App provided to Mac users it does not recognize my phone.
The OS Version I believe is 2.3.4 (Gingerbread)
The Device is an LG Optimus 2x.
What I'm trying to accomplish is retrieving audio files and hopefully contact info, too. I'm posting here because I can't do anything from the phone side of the situation.

I'm updating this today to say that I found a solution. After impatience got the better of me, I accepted the fact I would just have to reset my phone. Without access to my phone, knowing that debugging and USB mass storage wasn't selected, there would have been virtually no way to retrieve the data.
Interestingly enough though, when I did a hard factory reset, the content (Photos & Audio Files) were not deleted!!
SO I found a solution inadvertently!!

Hi n,
If it's not mounted, there should be no need to unmount it. Open Disk Utility and see if it's recognized there, and/or System Profiler.
Also, you're showing 10.6.4. You might want to run Software Update to get up to 10.6.8.

What are you trying to transfer? What does the manual say for the Samsung to get whatever data it is that you want to transfer from one device to the other? This may be something you want to ask in a Samsung forum, since you are trying to manipulate a Samsung phone.

I used to you apples iSync to sync my phones prior to getting an iPhone. You can sync other phones to your mac, but not with itunes (officially). My Blackberry has software that i used to sync it, and I'm sure other phones do the same.

It seems that you have not looked at the manual.

You import camera roll pics the same way you would from any digital camera ( iphoto for example). They are not part of the sync process.

The document I shared in previous reply does in C#, since there should be two parts, android and the winform, the C# part are just for winform, and that means we need to code for both android and winform.
I actually found a library for c# which is
AndriodLib can be used to communicate between c# and andriod device.
But as of my knowledge, It could only Register conneted devices.
Also, after connecting the device, I want to Access vibrate function to send forcefeedback to that device.
That is another way to communicate and it is absolutely different issue of your original post.
In addition, that is not a built-in library and belongs to third-party, I would recommend you connect to its publisher to get help.

It's a bit difficult to offer specific help since you've neglected to mention which new phone you have, or which old phone you have.
Contacts coming from the phone will end up in the 'All' group in Address Book, rather than the designated group for syncing. This is a long-standing issue with iSync which Apple seems to not want to fix.
Presumably all the Contact you want on your new phone are in the Mac Address Book? If so, just create a group in Address Book with the contacts you want on the phone in, then (assuming your new phone is iSync compatible), set up iSync to sync just this group.
You can set-up iSync to sync different Address Book groups to different phones easily. Just click on the phones icon in iSync and choose the group to sync from the pop-up menu.

No, you can't sync them over BT. If your contacts are all in your GMail account, you can set up your Gmail on your iPad as an Exchange account and get the contacts that way.

How can I sync calendars between my mac, iphone and android phone

I use an iPhone as my primary phone, but do travel alot and need to have a secondary phone with a local SIM card when I travel. For this reason, I am considering buying an android phone. One of my major concerns though, is how would I be able to (if possible at all) sync calendars and contacts between all the devices. Today with iCloud I can get the iCloud syncing between my iMac, Macbook Pro, iPad and iPhone. When I introduce an android device, I am going to have to bring in Google calendars as well, so how do I get my iCal calendars to automatically sync to google calendars without having to creat duplicate calendars or without having to basically migrate to using only google calendars? Same goes for the contacts?

I had the same issue with the Galaxy S4 trying to see what the hype was about and was my first and last android phone. With that being said unfortunately it is a hit or miss with the Mac recognizing an android device or not. It worked perfectly fine the first time around and then it stopped working for no apparent reason. Through trial and error nothing I did solved the issue. I did however plug it in my Mac and left it connected for about 30-40 min to charge for a bit and all of the sudden it recognizes the phone. So I just launched Android File Transfer and everything else became fluid after that. I have no explanation as to why it happened that way, but what I gathered from this is maybe you just have to let it sit for a minute while plugged in before the Mac recognizes it, after all they are opposing software. On a side note this is why I will always be an apple user, Iphones and the like never have this problem

You need to log out of iMessage and Facetime, make sure your number is correct in Settings/General/About, then log back in again to send a new activation request.

Well, it won't involve iTunes until you actually have gotten the files off the device. iTunes will only sync Apple devices. Presumably there is some way to get files off an Android but you'd be better off asking on an Android forum on their support web site, or maybe asking in the OSX forum for the version you run. What happens if you plug it into computer? Do you see a lit of files you can copy onto the computer?
