  • How to reinstall my audio interface?

Since I downloaded maverick I ended up needing to reinstall my audio interface and now I am unable to reinstall.

    What do you mean?
The intergrated sound card of Macs is natively supported in Mavericks...
    What Mac do you have?
Do you have an add-on sound card?

  • How to Disable integrated audio interface?

Can I disable(if possible) my 'integrated audio interface' in PowerMac G5 ?
    thx in advance
    PowerMac G5 DualCore 2.0Ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

    That's some piece of kit!

If you want to shut off the puny internal speaker, leaving a jackplug in the rear analogue audio out socket, or the front headphone socket should do it. This works on a pre-dual-core G5, anyway.
If this isn't what you meant, you could try to explain why you need to disable the 'integrated audio'. Presumably you are not recording on the G5, just using the CueMix Console™ software...

  • Logic Pro X - How do I record my voice over existing tracks (via a mike and audio interface) without hearing those tracks on the speaker. I have headphones plugged into the interface but it doesn't stop in coming out of the speakers?

I'm new to Logic Pro X and can't work out how to record my voice over existing tracks without them playing over the speaker. I'm using a Sure mike through an audio interface and have headphones plugged into the interface?

    Pancenter,
Thanks for the response, but I do not have a midi interface. I am using a midi to usb connector cable, thus bypassing the need for a Midi interface.
The Mac reads the USB cable as a midi device, but not the keyboard that I am trying to use as a controller. I have tried it with my korg sp 300 and with my Nord Electro 2.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks,

    Tristan...
This is what you have, correct?
    http://www.alesis.com/usbmidicable
    This from Alesis..
"The AudioLink Series USB cable receives and outputs MIDI signal thanks to its internal interface. The USB-MIDI Cable connects plug-and-play to your Mac or PC for an all-in-one USB-MIDI solution."
Notice, -internal interface-. What you have is a simple USB MIDI Interface. Most MIDI interfaces are USB.
My point is (was), MIDI OUT of the Korg goes to the connector marked MIDI IN on the Alesis, those new to MIDI often get this wrong.

  • Audio Interface Problems -- How to make it simply work

Hello all. I recently bought a Tascam US-122L audio interface and cant seem to get it to work. It plugs in through the USB on my Macbook and lights come on so I know it is powered up and connected, and the warning comes up that an audio device has been located. I even get a signal on the screen from my track when I strum the guitar, but I cant figure out how to get the output to come out through the speakers so I can hear while I play. I'm also new to Logic and really dont know how to work it so I'm even more lost than when I tried to get it to work through garageband which was eventually successful. What settings should I change so that the recording comes from my interface and I can hear what I play through the speakers? Also any help on setting up a good modern rock distortion sound with presets would be most appreciated. Thanks!

    Ah
I think it is actually an Apple App switcher thing.
So if the finder window does noy cover the After Effects Project window, it works, but if you have to use the app switcher, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
I don't think it is a file type issue, so much as a live application issue, or maybe GPU related.
It's a weird thing, not that important, but it does limit where you can and can't drag from.

  • Audio Interface: Mackie Onyx 1640 with Firewire - How good is it?

    Hey,
I was about to buy a RME Fireface 800 as my Audio Interface, but then checking the Mackie HR824 Monitors (first i wanted to buy the Genelec 8030) i discovered the Onyx 1640 with Firewire, which of course is not a new product.
So, the dealer told me that the PreAmps and quality overall of the Onyx1640 is almost the same to the RME Fireface800, being the Fireface slightly superior.
Now the great thing is that IF the Onyx is that good, i could shot 2 ducks with the same bullet because with that Mixer/AudioInterface, besides using it for recordings, I could rehearsal with my band as well in my "studio"... and even record some jam sessions.
BUT the question is, how good is the Onys 1640 really in comparison to the e.g. RME Fireface 800 ??
Has anybody experience with the Onyx ?
For recording I would set a MindPrint MKII between the AudioInterface and Mic for voices.
Thanks in advance for your opinion/advice!
    Cheers!

I cannot comment on the Onyx though I just wanted to let
you know that the FF800 can be used as a stand alone unit
and does not need a computer. You could set up a preset
to do any configuation you need for any situation. I have mine
in a mounted in a portable rack case. Of course paired with
MacBook Pro you would be a formidable portable solution.

  • When recording a video using quicktime and my built in camera (isight) how come the program wont let me use my audio interface rather than the built in mike?

The basic answer is that Apple has not programmed the capture routine with this capability. As such, you can always send QT feedback requesting this feature be added as a future enhancement.

  • How to Hear Metronome in Headphones While Recording Through Audio Interface - Help!

    Hey everybody,
So I've been trying to work through this problem for 3+ hours now and I'm stumped. It's very frustrating as it is such a simple problem. Right now I'm recording acoustic guitar through an audio interface - guitar sound goes to microphone, microphone goes to interface, interface goes to audio jack in Macbook. Pretty simple setup. I can even insert a splitter into the audio jack on the Macbook which will allow me to hear what I am playing through the interface in my headphones, which is what I wanted. However, when I hit record and the metronome starts playing, as I want it to, I can't get the metronome to play through my headphones - they will only play through the speakers. How can I get around this? Is it even possible, or do I need an audio to USB interface so I can have a set audio in (through the USB) and a set audio out (through the audio port)? Again, your help would be much appreciated as I am completely stumped.
    Cheers!

In Logic Pro 9 (and X) you can assign different devices to the In- and Output, so I don't understand why you wouldn't be able to get sound in through the microphone and out through the headphones. You can even combine the ouputs into a Multi-Output device to send the same sound simultaneously to all outputs.
You can also aggregate all your in- and outputs into an Aggregate Device, then you can use any of your outputs and any of your inputs inside the same Logic project (on the channel strips).
Setup in Audio MIDI Setup (separate app, part of any OS X install, can be found in the Applications>Utilities folder)
Setup in Logic Pro>Preferences>Audio>Devices (apart from colorscheme, it's the same in LP 9 and LP X)

  • How to set up an audio interface with logic express

i just got a deck board tascam us-1641, downloaded the driver, plugged in my keyboard but nothing is happening. What am I missing or not doing?

You probably have to set up Logic to use your audio interface.
You'll find these settings under the Logic menu > Preferences > Audio. Then you can select the preferred audio interface.

  • Emagic emi 26 audio interface not working

I want to turn my old dell inspiron 8100 PIII 1.2 Ghz / 512 MB RAM into my sound center, attached to active loudspeakers and a huge USB external harddrive.
Running arch linux and recently did pacman -Suy.
The internal sound card is broken, I only get distorted sounds (in windows as well).
I want to use my a bit dated emagic emi 26 usb audio interface.
The linux installations has (the exact paths are maybe different, writing from another machine now):
    /lib/modules/2.6.27-9-generic/kernel/drivers/usb/misc/emi26.ko
    /lib/firmware/emi26
So it seems the interface is supported.
However, when I plug it in, nothing happens. Some LEDs light up on the interface,
but /proc/asound/cards only shows my Maestro3 sound card, also alsamixer
    doesn't see the device.
If I enter "lsusb", the terminal hangs, no Ctrl-C helps! I can't even kill -9 it as root!
I have snd_usb_audio and emi26 in my MODULES in rc.conf, while having
    !audio and !usb_midi there too.
lsmod shows that emi26 is loaded, as well as snd_usb_audio.
Does anybody have an idea on how to go about this?
I guess there must be some problem with the driver...
    Thanks for any help

    Hello,
"and now I cannot get sound out of my interface, even after trying to unistall that program and reinstall my interface driver"
    Try using AppZapper: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/systemdiskutilities/appzapper.html
This way you make sure you have UNinstalled all the associated files.
