I send out an "invitation" to 3 people for a group video call. We all get connected and then after some time one of them disconnects.
Can that person reconnect to the group video (and if so how) or do we have to start the entire process over again? Me sending out an "invitation"?

Untick all the tracks, then iTunes will only play the track you select.

Macbook Pro dark screen after disconnecting from Cinema Display

Dear all,
the issue I am having:
- after disconnecting from Cinema display (having first put my Macbook Pro in "sleep" mode) I just ca't make the Macbook pro scren show anything....black display
- but is it really asleep? NO!!! It just STILL believes it's connected to the Cinema Display
That's what I though was happening, so I thought: "if I now plug in the thunderbolt-to-VGA dongle that I use for the videoprojector then the screen might come back... and.... Voilá! It comes back, BUT starts flickering until in the end it just dissappears....
I can reproduce the error all the time. Worse than that: a reboot does not help at all.
Looks like there is an internal hardware switch that must be left "engaged" and then the Mac just believes it is connected to an External screen and sends the signal though the thuderbolt port instead of through the screen!!!
WEIRD error/bug or whatever!!
I have no idea how to make this reach the Apple guys.... I tried to report a Bug but they asked me to join in as Apple developer which I just can't do (for working issues).
Can anyone tell me if they have had this problem, and whether Apple is taking care of it?
(this reminds me of an issue with an internal switch with the headphones in my old MacBook Pro.... after disconnecting the headphones, the internal switch was not being disengaged, so sound would NEVER come out as it was being sent to the headphones instead of to the speakers... Same problem here but with the Image??? :-((( )

Sometimes I experience the same after disconnecting my 24" display (in seldom cases, the mouse cursor is not painted correctly, as well).
Can you check - when it happens - if in System Profiler > Hardware > Graphic > Quartz Extreme is listed as 'supported'. I found it to be 'not supported' when the scrolling and display behaves strangly. Also the Menu Bar is not transparent any more.
Next to rebooting, logout and login again fixed the issue for me. But I am also looking for a better fix/explanation.

After installing Mountain Lion my MacBookPro crashes after disconnecting from Cinema Display

Ever since I installed Mountain Lion on my 15" MacBookPro (early 2011 first with Tunderbolt connector) it crashes after disconnecting from Cinema display (this Cinema does not have Thunderbolt but mini display port). It woked fine under Lion.
This crash occurs in following situation:
MacBookPro is in closed clam shell operation. When Cinema display is still connected, I put MacBookPro into sleep. Then I disconnect Cinema display mini diplay connector from Thuderbotl port.
When I get home and open MacBookPro it is in deep kernel crash.
It happens every time.
Any ideas how to fix this?

You can bypass GateKeeper.

IPod Nano (4th Generation) switches on when connected to USB power - shows Menu & hangs (unresponsive to click wheel) - deems off after 5-sec - Switches off after disconnecting from USB Power - syncs with iTunes - Tried 5R's - Problem still persists

1. The iPod Nano (4th Generation - 8GB) switches on, only when connected to USB power by showing apple logo and displays Menu options thereafter..
2. However, I can not access Menu as it is unresponsive to click wheel. As a result it is inaccessible to any further use,
3. NOTE: it displays "Battery Fully charged" icon on the screen without any "Lock" icon.
4. After 5-sec to 10-secs the screen deems off.. i.e. goes to sleep mode.. And thereafter would probably remain like that (sleeeping) for eternity!!!!
5. It Switches off after WITHOUT DISPLAYING any Apple Logo immediately after disconnecting from USB Power.
6. In other words, it can be switched on only through USB power in spite of battery being fully charged.
7. Interestingly, it syncs with iTunes. It is recognised in iTunes (Latest version 11+).. Displays on screen all commands Like.. syncronising, connecting, connected,
8. Allows to add Music, videos like a normal ipod & displays all status information in iTunes.
9. Read Trobleshooting & Tried all 5R's. Registered, Resetted, updated & Restored to iOS 1.0.2
10. It is now displaying to select Language in place of Menu options, with no access through click wheel, centre button whatsoever... Problem still persists

No internet access after disconnecting from VPN

Summary:
windows fails to restore normal network after disconnecting from a VPN network, the PPP adapter which represent VPN connection stays in the interface list even after disconnection. system has no network access to anywhere.
Synopsis:
a. Win 7 Pro x64 Client computer in a home network without any corporate firewall software connects successfully to VPN using windows VPN connection. (Rasdial)
b. after disconnecting from VPN, client lost internet and local connections.
c. ipconfig -all shows PPP adapter (VPN) still exits as an network interface in nonoperational state.
d. pinging any ip address except localhost results in "no resources" error.
e. trying to dial VPN again results in "element not found" error.
Solutions I tried so far:
ipconfig -release and ipconfig -renew.
Disable / Enable Wireless Adapter.
rasdial "vpn connection" /d
currently the only solution is restarting the PC after each VPN usage which is very frustrating.

I tried "netsh winsock reset", unfortunately it didn't fix the problem.
The status Icon is normal, no indication of limited or no connectivity, I can ping and open the router webpage at 192.168.1.1.

Iphone 4 shuts down after disconnecting from power cable

My iphone 4 completely shuts down after disconnecting from power cord. The screen goes blank. However, if I re-plug the power supply it turns on with the date and time changed but my battery status is 86%.

Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons for about 15 seconds until iPhone restarts. If everthing is OK, great. If not, connect to iTunes and try to Restore the Firmware. If still problems, make appointment with Apple Genius for Warranty service.

I am getting regular lock-ups of my new Zen 6gb unit either during syncs or immediately after disconnecting from my PC. Although most of the time the sync works fine, sometimes it does not (not all files downloaded). I use both Napster and Audible Manager (from Audible.com) to load my unit. A paperclip reset seems to restore things and the unit otherwise seems to run properly. Details:

Database holds the session after disconnecting from DB !

I am using Oracle10g database (10.2.0.4) as our production server in AIX 6.1 . Recently we purchase
an application which is used for a banking module . The application user name 'INCHEQS' .
Now the problem is , when we are connection through this user from the client end then ,
a lot of user has connected although the users are not connected . i.e., If a user disconnect
from his session but that session still connected in my database .

It does sound like a connection pooling issue. Does the application have a web server component? Do the number of sessions grow over time or do they hold steady at a certain value.
You should talk to the support area for the purchased app to see if there are steps to limit the number of sessions, if that is a problem.
Also, as a workaround you may be able to restart the web server on a regular basis to clear out those sessions. I would only do that if the session count continues to grow over time.

after I work on OWB client for some hours it disconnects from DB (even if I am still working on it) and I have to close the client and then re-open it in order to connect to Oracle.
Is it possible to reconnect to Oracle without to close-reopen the client?

Can you give more info about your OWB configuration (OWB and DB version)? When does the disconnect happen - is it during periods of prolonged inactivity? In that case you might be interested in checking the sqlnet timeout parameters (in the configuration file sqlnet.ora). For example:
1. Use the parameter SQLNET.RECV_TIMEOUT to specify the time, in seconds, for a database server to wait for client data after connection establishment. A client must send some data within the time interval.
For environments in which clients shut down on occasion or abnormally, setting this parameter is recommended. If a client does not send any data in time specified, then the database server logs an ORA-12535: TNS:operation timed out and ORA-12609: TNS: Receive timeout occurred to the sqlnet.log file. Without this parameter, the database server may continue to wait for data from clients that may be down or are experiencing difficulties.
You can also set this parameter on the clientside to specify the time, in seconds, for a client to wait for response data from the database server after connection establishment. Without this parameter, the client may wait for a long period of time for a response from a database server saturated with requests.
2. Use the SQLNET.SEND_TIMEOUT parameter to specify the time, in seconds, for a database server to complete a send operation to clients after connection establishment.
For environments in which clients shut down on occasion or abnormally, setting this parameter is recommended. If the database server is unable to complete a send operation in the time specified, then it logs an ORA-12535: TNS:operation timed out and ORA-12608: TNS: Send timeout occurred to the sqlnet.log file. Without this parameter, the database server may continue to send responses to clients that are unable to receive data due to a downed computer or a busy state.
You can also set this parameter on the clientside to specify the time, in seconds, for a client to complete send operations to the database server after connection establishment. Without this parameter, the client may continue to send requests to a database server already saturated with requests.
3. SQLNET.INBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT could also be investigated (this is for the log-in timeouts)

You usually make contact groups via a computer (Mac or PC). If you use a mac and sync. via iCloud, you can go into Contacs.app and organize your contacts as you wish. Then (if) you sync with iCloud the groups you've changed or created will be displayed on your iPhone and (or) iPad.

How to remove a keyword from a group of photos

I want to remove a keyword from a group of photos. They all have the same keyword attached, of course. When I right-click keyword and choose 'Remove keyword from selected photos' it removes the keyword from the most-selected photo ONLY, not from all photos that are selected. I have to remove the keyword from each photo one at a time.
I'm running LR 5.6 on a Mac.

Airport not Reconnecting after waking from sleep

Hi all,
I have a problem with Airport not automatically reconnecting after the computer wakes from sleep or is turned on or rebooted. I have it set to join a specific network automatically. Any idea why this may be? It used to work just fine.

I had this problem just recently and seem to have fixed it today. I made the following changes:
I changed security from WPA2 to WPA using the Airport Admin Utility.
I went to the Network Preferences panel and found that the network was still listed as WPA2, so I deleted it.
I then added the WPA network to my preferred network list.
The computer now reconnects automatically after sleep or shutdown.
I don't know whether changing from WPA2 to WPA was necessary. It may be that all you need to do is delete and re-add the network.
