How to recover an sticky erased by mistake?

Hello,
I hope I am posting in the right place. I have a G4 "Sawtooth" running OS 10.4.11. I have put all my critical info in a sticky which I just erased by mistake.
Could anyone walk me through on how to recover it? By reading other posts I know that it is in a file called "stickiesdatabase" governed by "com.apple.stickies.plist".
Thanks.
Nick

Hi Nicholas, If it isn't still in the Trash, (did you check), then it's pretty heavy duty... you must immediately quit using the computer, then look into, Data Rescue II...

(Has a Free Demo to see if it could or not, but you'll need another drive to run off & recover to).

  • How to recover after "write erase"

I have a 9505, After running the write erase command, I can no longer log into the switch via telnet with the default admin password or the last configured password. Also I no longer get any activity over the serial connection to log in through serial. How can I reset this director back to factory defaults?

Yes I did reset the switch after the write erase. I do not think it reverted back to factory defaults though. I still get a login response when I telnet to the configured IP address, but no passwords seem to work. I have tried admin/admin as per the documentation defaults and the configured password, both reply with login incorrect. I have also tried no password.
I am using the supplied Cisco serial cable which I know works because I was connected serially when I sent the write erase command.
Since the command and system reset I have not seen any activity through the serial connection. I have tried both the top and bottom supervisor and neither show any activity when the switch boots up. I am using a windows laptop using hyperterm with 8/1/N settings as per the documentation.
Is there any other way to set factory defaults? I am out of ideas on how to recover this switch.

  • Mistakenly erased iphoto how to recover

I have mistakenly erased the iphoto even from thrash. How to recover the iphoto application?

    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List.

  • Hello, I erased by mistake some of my photos, how then I to make to get back them

    Hello,
I erased by mistake some of my photos, how then I to make to get back them

Precisely what did you do to delete the photos?  What version of iPhoto are you using?
The "first level" delete in iPhoto will send the photos to the iPhoto Trash (not the main Dock Trash).  Open iPhoto and in the left hand list there should be a Trash entry.   You can go to Trash and view the photos and restore the ones you need.

Unless they were on the iPad when you last synced/backed up then you can't recover them. If they were then you could try restoring the iPad to that backup and see if that restores the photos - and you will need to restore the whole iPad to that backup, you can't just restore some photos or one app.

  • How to recover Find My iPhone mistakenly erased?

The feature was deleted by the tech staff at Apple Store yesterday without my approval. I ordered a new iPhone 6+ to replace my 4S, but the new phone was not in stock so I was told to wait for about 2 weeks. Since I am still using 4S I need this feature, but for some reason that I do not know, he deleted it - possibly to take a short-cut in anticipation of a trading in in the near future?  Anyway, I only became aware when I returned home and read the email notification in my iMac from Apple saying that the feature was disabled - without any instruction how to recover it.
Can anyone help?    The iOS I am using for 4S is still the previous version (not upgraded to iOS 8.1 yet). It is 16GB and 3G capable.
    Thanks for your help!

Thank you very much for your prompt help!  I tried it and worked!

  • How to recover Deleted file from HARD DISK

By mistake my entire AVCHD file of 90 Mts  duration was deleted from my Hard Disk, this  I realised after a week., in the meantime I have not added or deleted any file from this hard Disk. I had given my this hard disk to my service engineer to recover the video., he has tried and recover some 40 mb file., but I cant open this recovered video file in Premiere or any other video convertor programme., also I cant get any information about Video.
Can anybody in the forum help me and suggest how to recover my deleted Video from the Hard disk

Hi, hard disk data loss is actually a hard task for many users 'cause most of them think this kind of problems is a complicated situation. Here are some tips you need to know after data loss happened.
    1. If you meet the file loss situation, keep calm and stop using your computer to do any read or write operation until you find the way to recover the lost files because any wrong operation.
    2. If you've lost a file, time is of the essence. As new files saved to Mac hard drive or storage devices, the original files gets overwritten. So do not use the drive or disk which your deleted files are stored before at all, until you have completed the scanning and recovery process.
    3. The system crashed or the files loss situation happens occasionally, so remember build a backup for the files periodically is strongly needed.
    4. If you meet the file loss situation again, stop using the Mac or storage device right now, use another computer to process the files recovery.
    5. Remember this, no matter at the normal time or after files recovery, build a backup for the files periodically is the best method to protect your files from data loss situation.

  • How to recover lost folders and files - Pls help, help...

Some days ago I lost all of my 15 GB folders and files that stored in my Macbook Pro hard drive called DATA.  I brought my Macbook pro to an experienced computer tecnicians who providing data recovery services. To his and my suprise, after checking, scanning it a few hours, he said their is no way to recover because he did not find any trails at all.  The computer still seems working properly - I have no problem with any applications.  There are few other folders in the DATA hard disk containing pictures, computer programs still remain.  These lost folders and files contain mainly documents (word, excel, power point, pdf etc) which I accumulated in my many years working  !!!!.  I did not make a back up since last September partly because I think Mac is very safe.
The computer with me all the time on that day and only my son used Power Point to make a simple presentation on that evening - he can not save it on the folders the he normally use - All the folders and files are gone.
I will appreciate it very much if any of you can tell me what would be the possible causes and more importanly how to recover the lost folders and files.  They are very very valuable to me.
Many thanks for your kind attention

First, did the data actually get deleted, or is it still there somewhere?  Try searching the drive for some of the documents, perhaps it's all just in another folder on that drive.
If it's truly gone, it's impossible for us to say what might have happened to make it unrecoverable.  Perhaps someone using the computer used Secure Empty Trash, or securely erased empty space on the hard drive.  Perhaps it was overwritten by other stuff before you noticed.  It's possible the hard drive is starting to fail, though this seems like an awfully specific problem for that to be the issue.
Or perhaps the tech you took the computer to didn't know what he was doing.  Why not try recovering what you can on your own?  See Recovering deleted files.
You should be aware that no computer is safe.  All computers rely on hardware that may fail and software that can have bugs.  You absolutely MUST maintain a good set of frequently-updated backups...  no fewer than two full backups of anything you don't want to lose.
(Note that my pages contain links to other pages that promote my services, and this should not be taken as an endorsement of my services by Apple.)

  • HT5043 My daughter was taking pictures in photo booth and now all of our photos from the iphoto library appear to be missing.  Any ideas how to recover them?

Does anyone know how to recover or view pictures after importing photos from photo booth?  My daughter said that she was asked if she wanted to start a "new card".  Is this term familiar to anyone.  So sad to lose all our photos....

Sorry - what exactly was done? iPhoto and PhotoBooth have no relation to each other -
If she deleted the iPhoto libreary in error then take it out of the trash and put it back in the pictures folder - if the trash has been emptied then restore your backup of the iPhoto lbiarary - that is what backups are for - to protect against mistakes and failures
