How to recover Apps if I changed computer

Hello. Ever since I bought my Ipod I downloaded free and payed apps. I recently changed my computer and when I was about to backup my Ipod my Itunes crashed and when I wanted to sync it again it said I had to restore my Ipod to factory settings and that I would loose all my data. My question is, do I get to recover the apps I payed? I dont have them on my computer since I changed it and im affraid of losing them if I restore my Ipod. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

do I get to recover the apps I payed?
Yes. Redownloading them is free when you're logged into an iTunes Store account used to purchase them.

Contact the App Store support and indicate to them your intent.  They can tell you if your license to those applications will allow you to do so.

  • HT1391 how to recover itunes library after reformatting computer - has also wiped my ipod clean when I tried to transfer the music from there

Hi - I have reformatted my computer and want to know how to recover my tunes that were on itunes - I have tried to transfer the tunes from my ipod but it has wiped this clean too - any suggestions welcome!!

*If my kids dock up their iPods to charge them (the iPods still have the music on them) will the computer "sync" the iPod to the now empty library that's on the computer?*
If the iPods are set to update automatically you need to take care connecting to an empty iTunes. You can use a keyboard command to prevent an iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘ Apple) keys together. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and it will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer. You should then be able to change your settings: iTunes for Mac - Keyboard Shortcuts
Once the iPods are connected it might be a good idea to change them to manual updating at least until you have your library back in shape. The content of iTunes and the iPod are not syncronised in this mode so the two can be different, you can get details here:
    Managing content manually on iPod
    iPod - Syncing Music
Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device: Safely Disconnect IPod

  • ? How to recover APPS from iTunes after system crash

I think we need a sticky for this.
Is there a tutorial or instructions to recover ALL your iPhone/iPod Touch apps from your PC or iTunes after a system crash and iTunes is no longer accessible even after uninstall and reinstallation? I heard one can call Apple Support and have them do a one time reset but for people like me who have more than one iTunes account that may be a problem since it would require several accounts.

Ok....i have some good news, I believe. Using King_Penguin's link and Apple's KB seems to have worked. I tried this under another windows profile on the same machine. The TRICK is to hold down CTRL W when opening up iTunes. This will prompt you to tell iTunes where the library is. The key is to copy everything from your My MUSIC\ITUNES folder. More info here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751
What is throwing me off is there is another option to, "Create LIBRARY". Not sure how that works. But the instructions are here: When you need to restore your backed up iTunes Library from your external hard drive to your computer, follow these steps:
    1.Quit iTunes.
    2.Locate your external hard drive.
Mac: On the Desktop or Finder sidebar.
    Windows: In My Computer
3.Drag the iTunes folder (backed up earlier) from your external hard drive to whatever location you desire on your internal hard drive. It is recommended that you choose the default location for the iTunes folder, which is:
    Mac OS X: /Users/username/Music
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\
    Windows Vista or Windows 7: \Users\username\My Music\

  • How to delete apps permanently when changing Apple ID?

I understand this question has been asked before, but I think my situation is slightly different and I think solutions to other threads probably won't apply.
I have been using an iPhone 4 and recently bought a iPhone 4S.  I also got a new Apple ID.  Not so I could keep both of them running, but because I moved back home and needed to change countries (no longer "brit abroad").
I know I could have changed countries on my old Apple ID, but I wanted to start afresh with a new everything (email address, Apple ID, phone) and I didn't want my old purchases popping up on my new phone, being that they would be on my old ID and that they were all free anyway, so I could easily download new versions from the new store.
The problem is I have signed out of the App Store and De-authorised my computer for my old ID, but my old apps are still there.  What I basically want is a clean iTunes to start again with my new ID.
Should I uninstall and reinstall iTunes?
Should I delete the apps one by one in iTunes?
Should I delete the apps from the 'Mobile Applications' folder?
Will any (or a combination of any) of these actually get rid of them for good?
    Thanks in advance
    Dan

I don't know if I am understanding you correctly, but just go to Settings>iCloud>Storage and Backup>Manage Storage, then go to the app you want to delete, tap on edit, then Delete All.

  • How to recover apps games data after iPad crashed?

Our iPad crashed and it was replaced at Apple store. We are now downloading, via icloud, the apps we used to have. But it seems that the games are not showing last scores/ levels. Is there a way to recover this data as well? thanks a million!

That data would be in your backup. If you have a very recent backup - and I mean very recent - you can restore from that backup in order to recover all of your app data.

  • How to recover apps data??

If I am running out of space and I need to delete a game, but later I want to copy it to another device, can I recover the app data or do I have to start the game from the beginning?
I know that with a back up it saves data but I want to save each app data separately in order to delete them and then re install them and continue from where I left.

  • OSX on external drive - MAS apps damaged when changing computer

    hi,
i have my osx mountain lion installation on an external harddrive (ssd, thunderbolt connection)
and i'm doing it for a long time without problems. everyday i change the computer 2 or more times.
    home -> office -> home ....
since a couple of days a lot of apps puchased in mac app store dont start anymore. the icon
bumps just once, the login window "you didnt buy this app on this computer ...." pops up. this is
ok, i login and then - some seconds later an error popup pops up.
    e.g.
“Renamer.app” is damaged and can’t be opened. Delete “Renamer.app” and download it again from the App Store.
app deleting and downloading/installing agian works. until i connect on the next computer. then
    the **** starts again.
this unusual work process worked all the time, so i dont know waht to do. downloading and installing
apps all the time, twice a day cant be a solution.

    i just startet a test.
    1. clean mountain lion install on a new external usb hard drive
    2. after all the only thing i did was to login into mac app store and reload 2 of my purchased apps
    3. apps work
    4. shutdown and start the hd on another mac
    5. apps dont work with the described error
    6. shut down and start again on the first mac
    7. apps work
the problem was suddenly there, no updates or upgrades in the last time. the apps worked
after upgrading to 10.8.2. and suddenly nothing works anymore. in my opinion this must
be a mac app store bug. it would be very strange if so many apps from one day to another -
without updates - dont work anymore.

  • How to recover apps settings after syncing in another itunes?

I plugged in my wife's iphone to my itunes to copy a video from my computer then it synced.  Now, the settings of her previous apps are now gone (i.e. Snoopy Fair has reset).  These apps were also synced from my itunes before.  But the apps she recently downloaded using her own accunt is still there.  Is there a way to restore the apps that reset from where it was before?
I don't she has recently done a backup of her phone as well.
    Please help.  Thanks!

She would have to restore her phone from a backup made while this app data was on her phone.  Note: doing so will revert all settings and data to those contained in the backup.
If she wants to do this, do the following:
Without connecting her phone, open iTunes on her computer, go to Preferences, on the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically".
Now connect her phone, right-click on the name of her phone on the left sidebar of iTunes and choose Restore from Backup, be sure to select the most recent backup of her phone to restore from
Now disconnect her phone from your computer.  Hopefully her phone will be back to the state it was before this happened.
When complete you can go back to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and re-enable automatic syncing.
If she wants the video synced to her phone, copy it to a thumb/usb drive and import it to her iTunes library and sync it to her phone from there.
To avoid this problem in the future only sync with one iTunes library.

  • Lost iPhone, how to recover apps?

I recently bought a new iPhone to replace my previously lost one. I don't think I had backed up my apps (I don't plug it into my laptop to charge) because when I did the activation/restore it didn't update the apps.
How can I get copies of the apps I have already purchased on my new phone?
    thanks.

    Read this article http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
When you get the credit card warning you got earlier, click buy. Then you'll get a message saying you have already purchased this app with an offer to download again for free.

    Hi,

is there anything i'm not doing or is it only possible to get them from itunes to ipad by syncing them?!

  • How to recover purchased apps after changing an Apple ID?

So I changed my apple id because my current email address is not working anymore on Yahoo. The next day when I checked for some updated on my apps, I found out that my deleted apps under "Not on this iPod" button are missing! And so I checked the store for my recent purchase and it has price. So it means I have to pay for them again to download! Anyone please help me how to recover them all!

Despite the fact that your old email doesn't work doesn't work anymore, the Apple ID still does.  Log out and back in again with the old ID and downlload the apps.  When finished, log out/in again to get back to your new ID.
These apps should sync to iTunes on your computer.  If they do not, do the same log out/in in iTunes to retrieve the apps and store them on your computer.
The Sync function is totally independent of which ID was used to obtain the apps, music, movies, etc.  The only time that you will care is when you need to update the app.  If you choose to do it from iTunes, you must again log out/in to update.  However, the iPod handles that for you and all you'll need is the correct password.
