They will be backed up only until you backup again. iCloud is not a storage drive in the sky, it is a backup service only. If you delete the photos and videos from the camera roll, and then you backup the iPad with iCloud, you will overwrite that backup and the photos will be gone.
Import the photos to your computer if they are that important to you. iCloud is for backup only, not a storage place that you can download your photos from again once you overwrite that backup.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

You will need to empty also trash to be sure. The email and the attachment will not be on iPod but may be a copy will still be on a server of your provider according to the system he uses (IMAP or POP3) and according to the preferences you have set on the mail programs (leave message on the server... delete it after a date or after deleting it from inbox or... there are many possibility).
If the mail message is still on a server teoretically you can download it again from the iPod or even another computer.. of course knowing your account settings and password.
What is not clear in your message: you mention 3 devices: sent thge mail from your cell (1) to your iPod (2) and/or to your friend (3).
Added later: you will also need to check the SentMessage Folder because a copy of the mail could also be there if you sett to keep a copy there.

If you have synced the iphone while the pics were present then you may be able to restore from backup.
Otherwise they are gone.
You should be importing all pics taken with the iphone to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera.

Hello to everybody. I have a serious problem. I bought a new mobileHDD & i transfered all my photos plus some other items.But i made one stupid thing. I deleted one folder with 480 photos before i transfer it to the HDD. I found it after one week when I already emptied the bin. All the photos are inside the Photoshop nut to use them i need to reconnect them . But how can i do that....not possible. So do you have any solution . I am sorry, but no amount of exclamation marks are going to help you. You deleted the pictures and emptied the recycle bin [and, I assume, don't do backups]. You pictures are gone.
If the thumbnails are still showing in PSA SE, the best that could be done is to make them as big as possible and do screen captures.

Thanks but I think it has something to do with the 'restore'. in the newest iTunes 11, when I click on the tab "iphone", it redirects me to the "welcome to your new iphone" page and asks about doing a 'restore'. I already did a 'restore', but it went to the original factory settings and I want to 'restore' to my lastest back up as of April 12. When I choose that option, it says my iphone doesn't have enough space. I don't know how much I need to delete in order to make it work. I've deleted lots, but it only has 4.1 GB available. I'm not sure why this isn't enough to do a 'restore'. I don't want to delete all my photos and videos, but maybe I will have to?...7.7GB is used up for that. I can't sync or do ANYTHING...
