How to recover hidden information in e-mail folders?

Specifically, I have a mailbox that all the e-mails are marked as unread. On Friday of last week only 70 of the 900 e-mails were marked as unread. The user keeps track of his job.. by which e-mails are read or unread. Bad Idea.... but.... he didn't ask us.
If anyone knows where the information on "read" and "unread" status is stored, please let me know.
I have verified it is not the client, since this has happened using webmail and no client attached.
Is there a directory backup that would include this information?
Any help would be appreciated....

Was this caused by the user or was it due to a corruption/modification at the system level by the administrator of the email server - did you have to run a 'reconstruct' at any stage?
If anyone knows where the information on "read" and "unread" status is stored, please let me know.Email flags (the \Seen flag controls whether the email client shows the email as 'read' or 'unread') are stored in the central mailbox database. A copy of the information is periodically flushed to disk the the store.usr file in each mailbox for the user.
Is there a directory backup that would include this information?Whilst it may be theoretically possible to 'reset' the flags back to a previous state the steps involved would be excessively complex to justify the effort.
Any help would be appreciated....I suggest you start with determining how the flags got 'lost' in the first place so that blame can be apportioned as appropriate and that the customer needs to change their practices. 'Recovering' email flags isn't a practical option.

I am using "My Mail" portlet from the portlet library provided by BEA WebLogic Portal 8.1(Service Pack 3).
Can anyone tell me how to Delete account information from "My Mail" Portlet permanently?
The problem is , once i configure my account with the mail portlet, it always takes me to my inbox folder whenever i use that portal. I want to delete my account information from this portlet.

How to recover hidden files and folders from memor...

When you connect your memory card to a PC or connect your phone as a mass storage device to a PC which is infected by a virus, the virus may hide all your files and folders.
The virus also changes their attributes to "hidden" and "read only" and may move all memory card content to another hidden folder, though the size of the disk looks unchanged, files are still invisible.
Steps to recover hidden files and folders:
First, change the settings in "folder options" so that we can see all hidden files and folders,
Open any folder > select organise > folder and search options, select view tab and under hidden files and folders setting, select "show hidden files, folders and drives", and uncheck the option "Hide protected operating system files" and click ok, click yes if a prompt appears for confirmation, now you should be able to see all hidden files and folders.
Second, connect your memory card to PC using a card reader or you can connect your phone as a mass storage device and note down its drive letter. (L) is the drive in my case as shown
1. If you have autorun.info file, you can manually delete it or use tools like autorun eater(or any other you like).
If all the folders are moved inside a hidden folder, select all the items inside that folder, cut them and paste them to root directory of your memory card.
If you select properties of any folder on your memory card, the hidden attribute might be locked as shown:
To solve these issues, type cmd in the start menu, right click on it and click run as administrator.
2. In the command prompt window, type the following:
L: [Press Enter]
Here, I assume L as your drive letter.
3. Type the following code to reset the attributes of all the files and folders to their default:
Attrib *.* -r -h -s /s /d [Press Enter]
After few seconds, all the files and folders will be reset to their normal attributes settings.

Check the formatting of the external hard drive. To do that, right click on the drive icon and select Get Info. (Or click once on the drive and type command +i ) The pane includes information about the drive format.
The drive should be formatted as Mac OS Extended. If it is not, run Disk Utility (App;ications / Utilities) and format the drive.

The thread I started some weeks ago HOW TO REVERT TO BT YAHOO! CLASSIC MAIL was potentially confusing and was overtaken by events anyway. This fresh post hopefully clarifies and brings it up to date.
If like me you fell for the recent invitation to upgrade to the "best BT Yahoo! Mail ever" (allegedly) there is no built-in facility to change your mind and revert. But it is possible to recover Classic through a workaround involving a temporary change in computer screen resolution. Alas the previous facility to toggle between Classic and its immediate successor All-New Mail has been removed. The link to All-New now just brings up another invitation to upgrade to "best ever", effectively making it impossible to recover All-New.
Before proceeding you may wish to take a screenshot of your desktop or make a note of it, because changing the resolution often results in an icon shuffle. (You can do the job automatically by downloading IconRestorer.) Be aware also that pages are likely to cramped during the process so a bit of scrolling may be necessary to find a particular place.
1. While logged out of BT Yahoo! reduce the screen resolution to something like 800x600. The way to do this varies but it usually starts with a right-click on the desktop.
2. Log in to BT Yahoo! and select Mail. You will get a page announcing that your screen resolution is too low for the new-fangled Mail. At bottom right there are options, including one to revert permanently to a previous version (ie Classic). Choose it.
3. Close your browser, reset your native screen resolution and unshuffle icons as necessary.
4. Job done!

How to store "hidden information" in Interactive Forms?

Hi all,
I need to store additional information for single fields of a form. This information should not be visible for the user. I retrieve this additonal information by calling a web service in Javascript for each field.
Of course I could simply use additonal fields and mark them as "invisible". Since I need this for each field of my form, I would end up with many many invisible fields. This does not sound like a good idea.
My crude idea is to simply modify the XML Source of the form and include the information there in plain XML. Of course I can do so by simply editing the XML Sourvce in Livecycle Designer. But how can I read out and write into these manually created data structures during run-time? Is there any way to access that? Is the XML source accessible at all during run-time?

Hi Christoph,
You can use the WebService and populate the additional information into different fields.
Here you can cheive this by having many single fields and populating information into those fields or by using a single hidden fields and write the JavaScript to populate the information having a delimiter set to defferentiate the different information.
To do this first you call a WebService by having a submit button or you need to cal Webservice from Form Ready event of the field or from the change event of the field(this event works fine for drop down).
From where you are generating the WebService(for eg if its an Function Module), there you need to have an,( eg. variable A), variable as a export parameter. And this parameter must be of type String and in coding you need to concatenate your all information into variable A using a delimiter (like ^, rarely used characters) set by you. And in the form you bind the variable A (in response of the Data Connection ) to hidden variable. Now below the Code where you have called the WebService there write the JavaScript to split the information stored in the Hidden variable.

MacBook Pro OSX 10.9.1 How to recover hidden files after crash?

After a crash of the HDD, the MBP needs to be reformatted. I've managed to transfer all the files to another mac (using 'T' while booting the MacBook Pro). Because I want to keep al my e-mails, I need to reach the hidden library. But in the transferred files, I can't find this hidden library. How can I get it to show up, so I can copy the Thunderbird file which contains all of the e-mails?

At least i'd like to try to reinstall OSX to the same HDD. It seems to be a software problem that occured after a check-up with DiscHelp (idk the specific term in english because I use the dutch version). While 'repairing' an error, a notification came up that said that it couldn't be repaired and that I had to back-up all of my files and reformat the HDD. Since then, if i try to boot up the system, the screen goes black in about 30 seconds.
The only backup I have is the direct copy I made booting up the MBP while pressing 'T' (while connected to another mac using a thunderbolt cable). So now I have a copy of the whole HDD. I tried to find the hidden ~library but i couldn't find it. In this library there are certain files i need to transfer the profile of my email. So yeah it's still readable, but as an external HDD, unfortunately not as a computer.
I really hope you can help me!

In the mail app go to Mailboxes. Select the mail account under Accounts. Tap on Trash. Hopefully, the email is still in the trash. If it's still there you should be able to move it back to the Inbox.

How to recover hidden video files on Zen X-Fi

Hi all,
The screen cracked on my Zen X-Fi, so nothing is visible. I think it also may somehow be out of power and not rechargable.
What I need to do is recover some of the videos I had on there, but I had them as "hidden" video files.
Is there some way to hook the X-Fi up to my computer, use it as an external disk, find the hidden files, and copy them? I can't even get it to look like an external disk in Windows Explorer.
Any ideas? I'd be grateful. Thank you.

How long do you have it plugged in to charge? Leave it plugged in for an hour to see if there is any response.
If it's completely dead then I am afraid you won't be able to transfer the files back to your computer. There are third-party vendors that offer data recovery services for a fee, you might want to do a google search for them.

The Moultain Lion Mail 6 upgrade has dropped all my local 'On My Mac' archive folders.
Any ideas how to get these back?

You can check whether the notification has sent or not by querying the wf_notifications table for that particular notification id.
The mail_status column in wf_notifications table shows the whether the email has sent already, will be sent or cannot sent.
MAIL_status -> SENT -- means email notification has been sent already
MAIL_status -> MAIL -- means email notification yet to be sent
MAIL_status -> null (empty -- means email notification will not be sent to the recipient email
In order to receive email notification the recipient should have proper email address set and notification preference should be MAIL* i.e MAILHTML, MAILTEXT, MAILATTH, MAILHTM2...etc

Using the REST API for files, how do I get information on all the folders and files in a folder?

I have an app that can successfully get a list of a folders content. However, by default the list is limited to 200 entries. I luckily ran into this limit when getting the list on a folder that contained 226 entries and realized I needed to then request
a list of the next items but it wasn't obvious from the REST API document how to do that. I tried sending the skipToken query parameter and setting it to 0 initially and incrementing each time I sent the request but always got the same 200 items back. So,
how do I get the list of files and folders beyond the initial list?

In SP2013 the skiptoken query parameter does not work with list items. You can look at the link below which discusses using the "__next" parameter.

How to recover a deleted temp user profile folders?

I have a user that logged in to their machine a probably ignored the fact that it said it was loggin on a temporary profile. This user has been working off some documents and since it was a laptop only closed the lid instead of doing a shutdown...
A few days later, the users was prompted to reboot the computer to apply windows updates... after the reboot... I guess it logged it to the proper profile and now the user couldn't find documents that were created under my documents.
When I started to look at the laptop and looked at previous version of the C drive that was available, I noticed there was a C:\users\TEMP folder that was there before the reboot containing some of the files but I can't find this folder anymore.
By reading around I found that the temp folder is deleted when logging off? Not sure about that but it sure looks that way. Is there a way we can recover this temp folder... at least the my documents from it?

hello, firefox is just a web-browser - it doesn't handle your emails at all. are you referring to the mozilla thunderbird mail-client or to a webmail provider? in the latter case please contact the support of your mail provider when you're having issues, since firefox has no way of influencing that...
