How to recover little movement of an electric board during optical inspection

Good day to all.
I'm developing a software for an optical inspection task of the PTH mounted components. My software can already recover little deviations of the position of the PCB, thanks to the presence of a pair of fiducials, and so reposition the ROIs. Due to new requests from the customer i need to inspect the PCB at variables levels of zoom.
Therefore the software must work in two steps:
1 - Zoom the camera at a level that guarantee the vision of the two fiducials at the same time and computing of the deviation in the position (shift and rotation).
2 - Zoom the camera to a more pronounced level to arrive at the "inspection level" of zoom and repositioning the ROIs due to the informations gained at point one.
My question is: how can i accomplish the passage from point 1 to 2? Can i use the deviation at "zoom level 1" to correct positioning the ROIs at "zoom level 2"?
Thank you, Francesco.

Hello,
when you use optical zoom, the focal lenght changes as does the optical magnification. So you cannot use the deviation form 1. to 2. directly.
I am just throwing out ideas here, maybe someone has a better solution...
I would say that the easiest way is to measure an object of known size in scenario 1 and calculate the deviation. Then go to scenario 2 and measure the same object. Assuming that the magnification is linear, calculate deviation using the object size ratio.
You could probably also solve the problem by calibrating the camera at both focal lenghts...
Let's see if anybody else has something to say.
Best regards,
K

  • How to recover a movie from a DVD?

I made a movie of our Yosemite trip (using Photo2Movie and iMovieHD 6.0.3), then finished it using iDVD 6.0.4. I burned copies to disk and mailed to my friends.
Then (this is where I am embarrassed) I lost all the files that I used to create the movie. (In response to the inevitable comment - I am a fanatic about backing up. I keep two separate back-ups of my hard drive. I have no idea how I lost those files.)
A friend mailed back to me the DVD that I sent to him. What is the best way to get that data back onto my hard drive? Do I just copy the Audio_TS and Video_TS folders to my hard drive? Or do I create a disk image of the DVD? Or something else?
Thanks in advance for any advice/explanation you can provide. (When I made the movie, I just blundered along, never completely understanding what I was doing.)

    Hi Clinto
And welcome to apple discussions. If you just want to be able to make additional copies then use apple's disc utility (or Toast) to copy the actual dvd or the video_ts (your choice) to another DVD-R.
On the other hand if you wish to redo the editing and content of the dvd (which I don't recommend since you'll take a hit in quality) then consider using an app like:
    http://www.dvdxdv.com/NewFolderLookSite/Products/DVDxDV.products.htm
other apps may work for you also like Mpegstreanclip or Visual Hub (if you can find it still).

  • How do i put movies onto my ipad

How do you tranfer movies to IPad for playback during travel.

If these are movies that are in your iTunes library on your computer, you need to connect up your iPad via USB, let it sync up to iTunes, click on your iPad's name in iTunes' left column, under the Movies Tab, click the checkbox for each movie you want to sync/load to your iPad.
Another way to so this while your iPad is sync'd up to iTunes is to actually look for the movies in iTunes and drag them to your iPad's name in iTunes' left column.

  • Dead Hard Drive - How to Recover?

The hard drive in my iMac recently "died". The Apple Store diagnosed my problem as a failed drive.
Luckily, they allowed me to borrow my failed drive for a couple of days. I was able to use an external USB enclosure and Data Rescue II to recover all of my data to an external drive. Unfortunately, the recovery does not provide a disk image but rather just the folder/file structure from the original drive.
The Apple Store has replaced my drive (under Apple Care Warranty) and now I have an iMac with a fresh install of OS X and nothing else.
Is there a documented procedure on how to recover my home-user folders (including Library), the system Applications folder, and the System Library folder to bring my refreshed Mac back to the previous state?

    Kevin,
Tailor these instructions to match whatever you have done so far within the new installation...
    1) Create new accounts within the new installation, using the exact same usernames and short names that existed in the old installation.
    2) Enable the "root" account, then log in as root.
    3) From the root account, navigate to the "Users" folder. Move all of the newly created HOME folders to the trash. Connect the drive that houses the backed up data, and locate the same-named HOME folders there. Drag them to the new "Users" folder, replacing the folders you moved to the trash.
    4) Open /Applications/Utilities/Terminal. At the prompt, type the following:
    <pre style="overflow:auto; font-family: 'Monaco'; font-size: 10px">chown -R username:staff /Users/username</pre>
In the text above, you will replace all instances of "username" with the short name for a replaced account. If the short name is "fred," for example, you will type the following exactly:
    <pre style="overflow:auto; font-family: 'Monaco'; font-size: 10px">chown -R fred:staff /Users/fred</pre>
Verify that the text is correct, then press <RETURN>. When you return to the prompt, perform the same task for the next replaced account, or quit Terminal.
    5) Log into the replaced accounts to test that everything works as expected. If so, log back into the root account, empty the trash, then log out of and disable the root account.
It would be best if you just reinstalled any third-party applications. Keep in mind that the data, settings, etc. for those applications already exist within the restored HOME folders.

  • I need help asap. Does anyone know how to recover iMovie project that just disappeared?

I went to hit play on my iMovie project, which is finished and had been playing great. this time I hit play and the screen goes black and now it appears the project is gone. The title is still under the folders section, but no clips in there. I've looked in the Trash folder on the desktop and it's not in there. I can't locate it anywhere. I spent over 100 hours on this and am devastated, as it's for work. Does anyone have a suggestion of how to recover this project? I did save as a .mov file on my external HD, which I have re-imported - however...now it's a different looking project. I can't edit it, nor can I share it in any format under the iMovie>Share tab. Help -- someone has to have some ideas...

  • How to recover missing purchased items from my old region???

    Hi,
Before 2 months ago I'm tried to change my region in the Apple Store and I was have a problem it I can not change the area until the reset my balance to 0 and it was I have a balance of 0.40 pounds, I contacted with the technical support at Apple and they told me should reset your balance to 0, but the balance was only 0.40 pounds and I can not buy any product because that amount is too little, So they suggested me to reset my balance to I can change my region and I have accepted this and they have already reset my balance to 0 and then was able to successfully change the region .
Now I have another problem which I can't to recover missing purchased items from my old region !!!
How to recover missing purchased items ????
    Regards,
    Aziz

You cannot use the iTunes store there any longer just as you can no longer use the food store you used to visit.  Unless you can change your country back to the one you used to use you no longer have access to purchases made there which is why it is important you keep backups of all purchases made there.
The iTunes Store in a country is intended only for use by that country's residents, and only while they are in the country. To use the iTunes Store in a country you need a credit card (or other card type if acceptable in a country) issued in that country, billed to an address in that country, and also be physically present in that country when using the store.  You are also restricted to waiting 90 days between country changes.
E.g., "The iTunes Service is available to you only in the United States, its territories, and possessions. You agree not to use or attempt to use the iTunes Service from outside these locations. Apple may use technologies to verify your compliance." - http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/us/terms.html#SERVICE

  • How to recover incomplete download items from the point where it stopped in firefox browser in case of unexpected computer crash or shut down

While downloading with Mozilla Firefox if by any means my computer crashes or shutdown unexpectedly I lose all data that had been downloaded so far. How to recover the downloaded data without a need to start all the way back from scratch to download the same data. Please help me if there are any means to recover downloaded mbs and continue from where it has stopped, so that I can avoid losing extra mbs and time to go back again and restart downloading.

    Try these steps:
    # Move the old .part partial download and the final file without the .part that has size 0 to another location.
    # Start a new download and pause it, don't close Firefox.
    # Copy the two files (.part and 0 byte final) that you moved above back to the download location to replace the new files that were created.
    # Resume the download in Firefox.
If that doesn't work then the server may not support resuming.

  • How to recover the "GMail" Safari extension icon?

I seem to have lost the "GMail" Safari extension icon. This is the one with the plain "envelope" outline (NOT the "GMail Counter" one). It originally appeared as a selection in the Safari/View/Customize Toolbar window, but is now gone. And that particular extension does not appear in the "Safari/Safari Extensions..." option.
I thought I recalled that there is a way to delete Safari and then restart OSX to have it reinstalled, but I can't accomplish that it seems.
All advice appreciated for how to recover that "GMail" Safari extension.
    TIA

    UPDATE.
I found that Extension on my iMac running Lion. (Library/Safari/Extensions). Sent as an attachment to an email to myself and copied it to that location on my MBP.
    Problem solved.
Suggestion: Do NOT "Uninstall" Safari extensions from the Toolbar. Just do Safari/View/Customize Toolbar and simply Move the unwanted extension back to the Customize window.

  • How to play DVD movie and video on Blackberry

This guide is mainly about how to rip DVD and convert video to BlackBerry Storm. First, you should know what video format is BlackBerry Storm supports.
Because DVD has CSS copyright protection, we need a program to rip DVD and convert video for BlackBerry Storm. The tool we use is BlackBerry Converter Suite, it includes two programs: DVD to BlackBerry Storm Converter and BlackBerry Storm Video Converter. This program not only supports BlackBerry Storm, but also BlackBerry Curve, BlackBerry Pearl and BlackBerry Bold series.
It supports audio and video format as follow:
Video: DVD, ISO, AVI, MPEG, MKV, MP4, MP4-AVC, M4V, WMV, MOV, 3GP, 3G2, MPG, FLV, ASF, VOB
    Audio: WMA, M4A, MP3, AAC, AC3, WMA
For more info about this BlackBerry Converter Suite, you can refer to here.
And here is the free download link, about 12.4 MB.
Now, let’s start the guide about converting DVD and Video to BlackBerry Storm.
Step1, Download and install the BlackBerry Storm converter, and then run it.
Step2. Load DVD into the software by clicking “Add DVD file”.
Here we can load three kinds of DVD's:
    1. Real DVD, just put the DVD in your DVD drive and click load DVD, (you can find it by clicking the triangle on the right of 'load file' button.)
    2. DVD ISO image, you can amount your ISO files in the daemon tools and then load the virtual DVD drive.
    3. A DVD folder, sometimes you may store the DVD folder in your hard drive, it appears like "Video_TS" "Audio_TS" folders. You can load it by clicking the "load DVD folders" button.
Step3. Select Profile, Subtitle, Audio, output directory setting
After you load DVD into the software, click the Profile drop-down list to select the proper format according to your BlackBerry Type, this guide is mainly about how to convert DVD and video to BlackBerry Storm, so we select the “BlackBerry Storm series(*.mp4)” profile.
Regular DVD movies usually have several subtitles such as English, French, German, etc. You can select one you prefer. You can also delete the subtitle by selecting “No Subtitle”. Selecting Audio is the same. If you want to join all your DVD files into one video file, please select the option named “Merge into one file”. For more advanced setting, you can open the setting panel by clicking “Setting”.
    Step4. Start the conversion
After all things done, you can click the “Start” to begin the conversion; it will take about 30 minutes for converting a regular two hours DVD movie. When the conversion finished, click “find target” to located the converted video on your computer, connect your BlackBerry Storm to computer, and then copy the video to your BlackBerry memory card, that’s all. Then you can enjoy your favorites DVD movies on your BlackBerry Storm.
For converting video to BlackBerry Storm, you can click “Video to BlackBerry” to run the BlackBerry Movie Converter, the operation steps are similar to DVD to BlackBerry Converter, So I’m not repeat here. But I want to add some tips to the BlackBerry Movie Converter.
    1. The Video to BlackBerry Converter supports batch conversion, so you can add multiple video files at one time.
    2. The Video to BlackBerry Converter embeds powerful video editing functions, you can use it to cut video, trim video, crop video, and you can even add a watermark to the video.
    3. The Video to BlackBerry Converter can also help you convert video file to MP3, WMA, AAC, etc audio, so you can set it as your BlackBerry ringtone.

STOP.....WHAT DOES "HOW TO CONVERT DVD MOVIE AND SET THEM ON THE IPOD" HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS DISCUSSION FORUM?
    This is very simple:
THe 5G IPOD is designed to seamsleslly play video acquired from the ITUNES music store. What does that mean? It means that if you get the video from the Itunes music store it should work, and if it does not work, you then post the relevant question in the ITUNES discussion forum.
If you want to rip DVD's, by all means, search in websites like www.videohelp.com, or search in google. If you do not find the answer there, then search here.
This particular question has been ASKED countless times and the last time I checked the forum was called Using Your 5th Generation IPOD", not "How do I get XYZ type video to play on the IPOD" nor "How do I use ABC program to rip, convert, a DVD"?
Have you checked first the video specs of the video ipod? What formats, codecs, etc? before posting your question here?
Don't get me wrong, we are here to help, but it is a little bit irritating to see newcomers post questions without having searched for the answers first, specially on a topic that has been addressed so many times as this one

I know there is a magic way involving file descritpor to recovery the file on OS if it was still opened by the process
seems it only works on linux or solaris , since HPUX don't have /proc
here is what i had done ,
    1. offline drop the tablespace
    2. export tablespace AAA from other DB without data but everything else
    3. import them into DB without AAA now
only problem seems application couldn't insert into the tables ,Object priveledge not granted
i'd checked the export file , those object grant SQL are right there , i just don't know why import hasn't worked

yeah , it'a real production database ~~ , so ,if anybody learn somethings on this , credit on me , :)
the version is 9.2.0.4 , but gonna move to 10g soonor or later , so put it there , to see if in 10g , we can do better ..

  • How to recover from Large Volume Table Insert

We are inserting 1 Million rows into table using ODI IKM Append. If half the way thru the job fails because of tablespace or other issue, how to recover? Does 50% rows are commited to db? What is the best way to handle this type of situation?

You can have different options for this.. You can commit them in every 1000 rows in the KM.You can also set the dml operation into one transaction and commit the same at the end of step.
Try to follow load plan for better restart options. If you cann't provide more undo table space then try loading less amount of records lets say 1 to 100,000 and then 100,001 to 200,000 like this which is little bit complex but you have to sacrifice something to overcome the issue.
I believe you must have data in C$ and I$ step. Hence you process these data instead of loading again from original source. So it depends on you, how you are going to design the total process. You can better judge it. Talk with your dba about this issues as well.

The fact is there might be another way to recover your lost iPhone files via iTunes on your Mac machine. This Mac utility is able to extract & restore iTunes backup files for your lost iPhone data. Not too many Mac users know that each time you sync data between your iDevice (iPhone, iPod, iPad) and iTunes, all previous records will be backed up by iTunes automatically and saved as (.sqlitedb) files. Hope this helps take your stress out. Best regards.

  • How to recover missing files

I am missing a few songs dffrom Itunes. I may have missed while transfering from another PC. Any tips on how to recover, if any chance of that to happen?
    Thanks.

Trying to diagnose something like this third hand probably isn't very effective. But when you open Terminal you are "in" your home directory. If you then issue this command:
    cd Desktop
and hit return you will then be "in" your Desktop folder. If you then issue the list command:
    ls -al
you will get a list of all the files and folders that are in the Desktop folder. If he sees everything, then the stuff is there. He could try creating a new folder in his home folder, call it something like fromDesktop, and then issue this command (this assumes he is still "in" the Desktop folder):
    mv * ~/fromDesktop
This will move everything from the Desktop folder into the fromDesktop folder. A list command will verify things:
    ls -al ~/fromDesktop
If all his stuff is listed, but he still can't see it in its new location using the Finder, then it could be that somehow the invisible bit got set.
And for Finder's sake, tell him to stop saving all that stuff to the Desktop! Put stuff in folders in his home folder. I've seen cases where excessive numbers of files dropped on the Desktop brought the Finder to its knees for many hours. Every single thing on the Desktop is treated as a window by the Finder, and having a ton of stuff there is needlessly slowing things down. And he should be backing up every night, not every couple of weeks. There are many programs available that will do this automatically. If he is in business he should be using one. Not to mention burning separate CDs of things for every client.
