How to recover lost contacts from latest update?

I installed the latest update last night and it jumbled many of my contacts.  Is there any way to recover them?
Thanks,
Doug

If you've been using your iPhone as recommended, you've been synching your contacts with a contact manager such as Outlook or Address Book, or with a cloud service like Mobile Me or Google.  That's where your contacts should safely reside.
You should be able to synch your contacts back from one of those programs.

  • How to recover lost contacts from address book with isync.

    Hi everyone,
I've just lost all my contacts even in my Nokia N95 when I use iSync. I've deleted my contacts manually in my address book to make a refresh sync with my Nokia. After I conected again and start sync, it deleted all my contacts on my Nokia... I am very dissapointed and angry with Apple.
Can you guys help me bring back my 500 contacts in my address book so I can put back in my Nokia as well?
    Thank you in advance.
    Matt

Not to my knowledge.  As I see it you now are in a position of manually recreating you contact list or as I previously suggested engage a professional in data recovery with no guarantee of 100% or any recovery.
    I wish it were otherwise.
    Ciao.

I have stored many videos, contacts, notes, music files and more on my ipad. Unfortunately, I lost my some files on it owing to my wrong operation. Now I am
looking for the ways how to get them back quickly, but it is failed. If you are familiar with this problem, please continue reading to give me some clues about how to recover these lost files from iPad on Mac computer? 100 coins will be added!

Firstly, you can rely on iCloud or iTunes to recovery iPad data, such as recover deleted text messages, photos, notes, restore iPhone contacts, after all, it is free.
    1. Connect your iPad with iTune on computer
    2. Right-click or control-click on the iPad icon under iDevice on iTunes
    3. Select "Restore from Backup" from the given options
    4. After it finishs, your contacts are back to your iPhone
Important Note: This works only if you have made a backup for your data on iTunes.
In case that the iCloud or iTunes cannot help to make a iPad Data Recovery, you can turn to a third party tool.

  • How to recover lost contacts (i just back up my iphone 5)

I just back up my iphone 5 before updating for the new update.
After back up from 900+ contacts it became 142.
    so i lost 800+ contacts.
how can i recover my lost contacts?

if they are showing in the device as a ghost contact, your best bet would be to restore from the backup:
iCloud and iTunes can back up most data on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Backed-up information includes purchased music, TV shows, apps, and books*; photos and video in the Camera Roll; device settings (for example, Phone Favorites, Wallpaper, and Mail, Contacts, Calendar accounts); app data; Home screen and app organization; Messages (iMessage, SMS, and MMS), ringtones, and more. Media files synced from your computer aren’t backed up, but can be restored by syncing with iTunes.
    * Backup of purchased music is not available in all countries. Backup of purchased TV shows occurs only in the United States. Previous purchases may not be restored if they are no longer in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBookstore.

    iCloud
    How to back up
iCloud automatically backs up the most important data on your device using iOS 5 or later. After you have enabled Backup on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in Settings > iCloud > Backup & Storage, it will run on a daily basis as long as your device is:
Connected to the Internet over Wi-Fi
    Connected to a power source
    Screen locked
You can also back up manually whenever your device is connected to the Internet over Wi-Fi by choosing Back Up Now from Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup. To learn more about what is backed up, see the iCloud: Backup and Restore Overview article.
How to restore from a backup
When you go through Setup Assistant on a new device using iOS 5 or later, choose "Restore from iCloud Backup" and enter your iCloud account and password. You will see the three most recent backups for each of the devices on which you enabled Backup. Choose from which backup to restore. If the home screen icons appear on your device and you wish to restore from an iCloud backup, erase your device (by going to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings). When prompted to set up as new or to restore from previous backup, select Restore from iCloud Backup. Enter your AppleID and password when prompted. After your device restarts, your settings and accounts are restored and Backup starts downloading your purchased music, TV shows, apps, books, Camera Roll, and other content*. For best battery performance, leave your device connected to a power source until the restore is complete. You may be prompted to enter the passwords for all accounts enabled on your device.A progress bar will appear underneath the apps that are being downloaded. To prioritize the restore of a specific app, tap its icon. Restore will attempt to download the same version of the app that you had installed previously. If that version is no longer available, the latest version of the app will be restored. To check if the restore is complete, go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.

  • Recovering lost contacts from Address Book

Can anyone help me with recovering my contacts.
I have just completed the iphone 3.0 update and for some reason deleted most of my contacts.
I recently did a time machine update... is there any way of getting them back through that?
I know i can get to a file through Library/Application Support/Address Book. But not sure how to get them imported back into the address book.
Can anyone please help as i have lost nearly 200 contacts and e-mail addresses. what a nightmare! Any help would be fantastic.

When you log into iCloud with your browser, do you see your contacts online?
If yes, go to System Preferences > iCloud > toggle sync contacts on/off.
You might need to run the combo installer.
OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 (Update (Combo)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1746
MORE INFO ON WHY RUNNING COMBO FIXES ISSUES
Apple updates available from the Software Update application are incremental updates. Delta updates are also incremental updates and are available from Apple Downloads (software updates are generally smaller than delta updates). The Combo updates contain all incremental updates and will update files that could have become corrupted.
Combo updaters will install on the same version as they're applying--no need to roll back or do a clean install. So if you think you've got a borked 10.8.4 install from a regular update, just run the 10.8.4 Combo Updater on that system.
"Delta" updaters can only take you from one version to the next. For example: 10.9.1 to 10.9.2. If somehow the 10.9.2 is missing something it should have, and that something isn't changed between 10.9.1 and 10.9.2 it will still be stale after the delta update.

  • Updated and factory reset macbookpro, how to recover lost videos from the application "front row"

Desperately need an answer, every response is appreciated.

What do you mean you factory reset it?
If you erased & reinstalled the OS then I'm afraid to tell you that those items are gone.
A data recovery company may be able to recover files but it could be difficult or impossible depending on the disk type & how it was setup.
You need to avoid writing any new data to a disk that will be recovered from to stand the best chance of finding deleted files. Power off the Mac & leave it off until you have decided on a course of action.

  • How to recover deleted contacts from Microsoft Outlook work email account?

Hey, hope you guys can help me out. I somehow managed to delete all of my contacts recently. Here is the scenario:
I recently changed jobs and have been continuing to get emails on my work email address from my old job. This was a Microsoft outlook account. I went and deleted my old work account thinking that it would only delete the email account, and it ended up deleting all of my contacts.
The other accounts I have set up on my phone are my personal email and my iCloud account (although I have never used my iCloud email account whatsoever).
My numbers are still in my phone (I.e. old texts and phone records with the numbers), but all of the contacts are gone.
It looks like my last backup was on August 26. I could not even begin to tell you the last times physically hooked my iPhone up to iTunes on the computer.
Can anyone help me out? Fair warning, I am not well versed with a lot of the iPhone jargon or processes, but hopefully someone can help.

I loaded the new software onto my phone earlier in the week and then onto my wife's phone last night.  We share the same itunes account.  I noticed that her contacts were on my phone so I deleted them and it unfortunately deleted them from hers.  I checked the cloud website and they aren't there.  Are they lost forever?
It is likely that they are gone from the cloud but login at www.icloud.com and see for your self. What else have they been synchronized to, and how (via a cable from iTunes? to Google etc)
Katie's correct, don't share an account, they are free.

  • Recovering lost contacts from icloud

I recently made my own Apple Id and switched off my parents to be on my own account. When switching over on my phone it asked me if I wanted to keep my contact data from my iphone. Mindlessly reading I accidentally hit delete, thus deleting all of my contacts. I did not have my contacts saved in the cloud I don't think. Just wondering if there's anyway I could recover them?

    Hi Drew,
When you say you were on your parents' account, do you mean that your iPhone had the AppleID that your parents use on it? How much have you done using your new ID? Are you still using the same iTunes library that your parents use?
Can you give us a better idea of how you were set up on both the phone and on iTunes and how you are set up now?
What about iCloud? Before and after?

All of my contact list has disappeared. Is there any way to recover it?

    Are these iCloud contacts?
Are they available when you sign in to iCloud.com with your Apple ID from a wb browser on your computer?
    If so:
Settings > iCloud > turn off Contacts, delete from phone if prompted (to avoid the possibility of duplicates), wait for it to finish then turn it back on. This will force a re-push from iCloud.com.

  • How to recover lost data from a mac that was erased and locked using findmyiphone app

    Hi,
My macbook pro was locked and erased using find my iphone app then it was recovered. I entered my pin and unlocked it. I then have the option to reinstall the OS on a new hard drive or my old one (which is blocked).
What do I do if i want to recover all of my old data?

Alas the answer is : NO
If you have an external HD, you may try tun run a recovery tool instlled on this external device searching for keystring "index.xml"
With a bit of luck, it will retrieve an old copy of your document.
I hope that this time you will understand that working the way you did is playing with matches.
Whe you work on a document already saved once, duplicate the document before opening it and check that both copies are OK.
This way you will have at least a copy containg the datas from the 25 first day.
During the working session, don't save with the name of the opened doc, save vert ten minutes with different names.
Doing that you will recover at least the copy which you opened.
