When upgrading my iPod to 4.3.3 to the restoring the back up data stage, my computer suddenly restarted and finally I couldn't get my old data back... please advise, thanks!!!

What happens when you sync your device?
Have you tried restoring from backup? A backup should have been created as part of the upgrade process.

How to recover missing data from PCL4 cluster

Hello experts,
Is there any way to recover missing data from PCL4 cluster ?
We recently found that some data related to W2 production run for past years was missing in the PCL4 cluster. Tables T5UXX & T5UXY has entries with the filing dates but certain data is missing in the cluster related to those table entries.
Would there be any specific reason for such a data loss ?
Has anyone come across this issue earlier and found resolution on the same ?
Any feedback is appreciated.

When you delete PCL4 entries for production runs, the corresponding
control information in tables T5UXX and T5UXY also will be deleted. A
control number may be used for more than one Form number (in Tax
Reporter control tables). Therefore, if a control number that is
assigned to the Form number to be deleted was also assigned to other
form numbers, then this control number information from T5UXY will not
be deleted. These details will be displayed in the program results.
However, if all Form numbers that were assigned to this particular
control number were deleted, then the control information in table T5UXY
for the control number will be deleted automatically as the last
dependent Form number is deleted."
Following we have two questions:
o Was PCL4 deleted?
o Did the W2 generate without errors?
Basically if the PCL4 data is corrupted, then we have 2 options to
rebuild the PCL4 Cluster:
1. Delete the existing PCL4 & rerun the production run with the same
   As of date.
2. Overwrite the production results without deleting PCL4 data but with
   different As of Date.
If the Employee data is not changed after your
actual production run then overwriting the results will not cause any
difference in the PCL4 data.
Secondly, if you dont want PDF spools or magmedia layouts to be
generated during overwriting of production run, then kindly uncheck
the following on the PU19 screen, so that only PCL4 data is rebuild :
1. Uncheck Employee Copy
2. Uncheck Authority Copy
3. Uncheck Magnetic table"

My macbook pro was locked and erased using find my iphone app then it was recovered. I entered my pin and unlocked it. I then have the option to reinstall the OS on a new hard drive or my old one (which is blocked).

If you have an external HD, you may try tun run a recovery tool instlled on this external device searching for keystring "index.xml"
With a bit of luck, it will retrieve an old copy of your document.
I hope that this time you will understand that working the way you did is playing with matches.
Whe you work on a document already saved once, duplicate the document before opening it and check that both copies are OK.
This way you will have at least a copy containg the datas from the 25 first day.
During the working session, don't save with the name of the opened doc, save vert ten minutes with different names.
Doing that you will recover at least the copy which you opened.

Post Restore, how to recover all music from iTunes Match?

Hello,
I recently restored my iPhone 4S, and the back up went smooth. I restored the phone from a back up on iTunes instead of from iCloud (since it would be faster), and now I'm stuck - for my music, it won't restore it from my iTunes back up or iTunes Match. The music is visible with the cloud icons next to all my songs and albums.
I know that iTunes Match handles the music, and thus I can't control anything from the tab on my iPhone in iTunes, but is there any way to push all the music I have with iTunes Match back to my device?
Or do I have to tell my phone to download every album?
I feel like I'm missing some setting here, or some "Download All" option but I can't find anything.

So... I figured I should try to turn off iTunes Match in iTunes, and on my phone. Tried that, synced again, and I can push my music from iTunes to my phone the old fashioned way.
Phew. I'll reenable Match after this is all sorted out!

How to recover deleted songs from iTunes hard drive (not iPod)

I have a Western Digital hard drive that I use to play all of my mp3 files. Tonight I was creating a playlist by dragging and dropping songs. Although I thought I was editing the playlist, it turns out that I accidently deleted a song from my library ("MUSIC").
Now anytime that I delete something from the external hard drive, it ends up in the recycling bin on my desktop. But that does not seem to be the case with songs that I delete from the "MUSIC" library on my hard drive.
I'm confused. When I accidently deleted this song, where did it go? The folder containing the mp3 file is gone, it is no longer in iTunes and it never appeared in the Recycling Bin. In the past whenever I've accidently deleted a song, I simply went to the Recycling Bin and clicked on "Restore File".
Does anyone know where to find the missing file(s) and how to restore them to my 'MUSIC' folder in iTunes?
Note that this has nothing to do with my iPod, but rather the external hard drive associated with my PC.

How I wish it were that simple.
My Recycling Bin is empty, which is what is perplexing. Just to see if this function was working properly I deleted a song from the LIBRARY and guess what? It appeared in the Recycling Bin.
Its a mystery what has happened to these songs.
This has happened on several occassions. I waited years for a few rare songs to come out in digital because only vinyl copies existed. When Apple finally reached a licensing agreement to sell these songs, I downloaded them and created a playlist. Somehow the playlist disappeared including all of the songs from the library. I didn't think anything of it because I thought that I could simply go to iTunes, select PURCHASED songs and add them. To my suprise iTunes does not have a history of my purchase.
Finally, after much trouble back and forth with Apple customer support they sent me a link for two of the most recent songs that I downloaded, but the ones that I downloaded a year or more in the past.
The whole entire scenario has left me scratching my head.

I suggest you send a issue report to iTunes hopefully they will be able to let you redownload your purchaced files.

I recently fixed my iTunes, but in the process I've seemed to have lost about half of my purchased songs. When I go to "My Music" folder to try to get them back they are not there, but in my account I have a recipt of all my purchased songs (so I can prove I've bought them). f you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. We have restore the archive files on storage from 5 different backups, still the files are not readable through transaction code SARA. when we click on store button in SARA, it will not give the option to store the files and gives the error that file is not readable by the systems.. How can we retrive the data through these files? Please let me know.

Thanks for your response.
We are not reloading the data, we have restored the archives files to our storage and after that when try to access the stored files we are getting the error the files are not accessible.
Archive files are perfectly restored in the archive directory and also directories has all the necessary permissions .
In SARA when we go to Management , there it shows the status archive completed.
It also shows that file not store and not accesible but the file exists in proper directory.
Please suggest...

I have a PowerBook G4 and after a force reset it wont go past the grey screen with apple logo on it.
Things I have tried:
- Command + Option + P + R
- Took out the battery and held the power button for 10 seconds
- Used Boot Disk to repair permissions and disk (ERROR: Invalid Leaf Record Count)
So hoping that at least some of my files are still there how do I recover them ?
I have a MacBook Pro with 10.5.8 available as well as an External HD.

Moving a library: Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its sub-folders and files) intact to the other drive. Hold down the option (alt) key (shift on Windows) and open iTunes. At the prompt to create or choose a library choose the copied iTunes folder.
When this is to a new computer put the copied iTunes folder in the default location of Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Music then you don't even need to start with the option key held down, iTunes will automatically look for it there. (Make sure there isn't anything already in the iTunes folder there that you want to keep since you will be replacing it with the one you are moving.)
