Hello
As far as I know your notebook was delivered with HDD recovery image. That means it is saved on second HDD partition. If you want to have original state again (factory state), install OS again using HDD recovery procedure. How to do this you can read in http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm
In the whole story I see one problem. Notebook is delivered with HDD recovery and I believe it was Win7 64bit only. When one other OS version is installed you will lose HDD recovery option and OS can be installed with recovery DVD only.
So my questions to you:
Can you start HDD recovery procedure as described in Toshiba document?
Have you created recovery DVD following instruction described in users manuals?

  • How to recover my Satellite Pro notebook?

    Hey I've encountered the unmountable_boot_volume blue screen so have decided to just format the pc, however;
When I select repair your computer, it displays the windows is loading files screen, then after just goes black with a white cursor...
I have a satellite pro running win 7
Any advice on how to go about recovering the damn thing? I'm afraid if I buy a recovery disc I will still receive the black screen with cursor don't understand why this is happening
    Thanks

    >"To be honest I dont understand why you didnt create recovery media as described in users manuals. "
    Bit patronizing is it not.
First of all not everybody is as computer literated as a genius like you, second of all, instead of cutting back on costs by not creating recovery disc for your customers (after all, most computer illeterate customers paid quite a lot of money for their system) Toshiba could rise above other manufacturers by providing excellent customer service.
More then 90% of Toshiba customers do not create recovery disks.... Maybe food for thought?????????
So: To be honest I dont understand why Toshiba did not created recovery media as described in user's manuals for their customers, AND how can a customer recover his paid for system back to factory settings, after realizing he/she will loose/lost all their data anyway, and can feel punished enough for not being a genius like you.....?

  • How to recover the Satellite A10?

    I have a Satellite A10.
After insering the recovery disk 1 the A tab instead of the C tab. Now I'm in DOS and I have no idea how to get back to my main page or D drive to continue with the recovery. I have no idea how to use DOS.

    Hi
To be honest Im a little bit confused
The recovery procedure is very easy and you dont need to do anything in DOS.
In order to recover the notebook you have to boot from the recovery disk and have to follow the instruction on the screen.
The Satellite A10 series is old and the recovery procedure is different to the new procedure but you should definitely receive some messages how to proceeds
    I recommend repeating the recover again;
Put the right recovery disk in the drive and boot from the CD by pressing the C button. You could use F12 and then you could choose CD/DVD drive in the boot menu

  • How to recover the Satellite L in order to get Vista back?

    Hiya,
My son got some kinda Trojan, it wouldnt let us go into safe mode or restore. The only thing we could do was to completely wipe it all & use the disks to reinstall it again. Simple normally... but this time it wont run anything other than XP now, I have tried 5 times to reinstall from the back up disks to get back to Vista and it just freezes, the furthest I managed to get was installing the updates but it froze yet again at 25% on the Net framework update part.
Its running on XP at normal speed now but if I was to try put Vista back on via the back up disks it takes about 5 minutes for it to perform an action, slow aint the word.
I just want it back to Vista and completely lost now, why wont it let it run Vista?
    Anybody any idea's?

    Its hard to explain.. sorry
It got a virus ok and when I go to reinstall vista, its taking ages, nothing like any other system I have come across. Then once I eventually get it install, there are some errors pop up about defender & security stuff, I cant tell you what as it is doing install again now but if the errors come up again I will post them.
Oncee installed I go to Windows Update to download any updates and start that. I left it running all night & woke up to 25% downloaded but it was frozen at that point, I couldnt click on anything or ctrl - alt - del. So had to use power button.
I tried this a few times but is then came up with something like It cant be installed on this system?
Anyway I tried again with another toshiba disk and it runs on XP fine, so once I got everything running on that I am now in the process of trying again with Vista after changing the BIOS setting as advised earlier. Its about to download the updates now so will see if it goes beyond the 25%
I did a search earlier and it came up the same as this -
    http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums//message.jspa?messageID=152942#152942
Sorry I sound confusing, believe me I am confused :(
Once I done this and if it doesnt work I will go back to default settings on BIOS.

  • How to recover Bios on Satellite A300

How to recover bios on satellite A300 laptop?

    > Somebody told me that the bios must have infected and asked me to rewright the bios.
So this someone hasn't got much savvy.
Sorry mate but this issue has nothing to do with BIOS. BIOS is saved on the ROM module the virus cannot affect the ROM module since it needs to be flashed and I dont think that this a case on your notebook.
You just deleted something in registry?? Im afraid this is not enough to get rid of a virus
The best solution is to format the HDD and to reinstall the system once again
Use the recovery disk because the recover would delete all partitions and would reinstall the system, drivers and tools again

  • Satellite Pro M30 - how to recover the data?

I get a disk read error when I try to boot my Sat Pro M30 running XP Pro, just after the In Touch with Toshiba screen.
Using the Revovery DVD that came with the computer when purchased and entering advanced mode I'm trying to use check local Image File. It doesn't seem to find any Image file. Is it possible to recover or rebuild image file?
There are some data I would like to recover from the HD so I'm trying to avoid reinstalling the system until I've recovered the files.
Have tried to read from the HD using a cabinette and a new NP running Vista but it didn't work. Is there a general problem reading a XP HD from VISTA?
Any suggestions how to recover the data would be very much appreciated!
    Johan

cabinette ? Do you mean "USB Hard Disk Caddy" ?
To recover your data, you can connect the HDD using a USB Adapter to another PC running XP or Vista. The drive should show up as a Drive letter (such as E: Drive), and you will be able to copy the files.
When you say "but it didn't work", what was the problem exactly?

I have a Satellite T130 and the web camera has just stopped working.
Can anyone tell me how to get this going again please?
    Thanks

Also check the BIOS, on some models there is an option to disable the Webcam in the BIOS.
And also ensure Skype, Messenger, or other programs that use the webcam are not running, only one application can use the webcam at a time.

You should order the recovery discs from Toshiba.
Toshiba Europe Backup Media Online Shop
After you have restored the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents, you should have the recovery utilities and partitions. See the A350 User's Manual (attached) for how to recover after that.

  • How to recover Deleted file from HARD DISK

By mistake my entire AVCHD file of 90 Mts  duration was deleted from my Hard Disk, this  I realised after a week., in the meantime I have not added or deleted any file from this hard Disk. I had given my this hard disk to my service engineer to recover the video., he has tried and recover some 40 mb file., but I cant open this recovered video file in Premiere or any other video convertor programme., also I cant get any information about Video.
Can anybody in the forum help me and suggest how to recover my deleted Video from the Hard disk

Hi, hard disk data loss is actually a hard task for many users 'cause most of them think this kind of problems is a complicated situation. Here are some tips you need to know after data loss happened.
    1. If you meet the file loss situation, keep calm and stop using your computer to do any read or write operation until you find the way to recover the lost files because any wrong operation.
    2. If you've lost a file, time is of the essence. As new files saved to Mac hard drive or storage devices, the original files gets overwritten. So do not use the drive or disk which your deleted files are stored before at all, until you have completed the scanning and recovery process.
    3. The system crashed or the files loss situation happens occasionally, so remember build a backup for the files periodically is strongly needed.
    4. If you meet the file loss situation again, stop using the Mac or storage device right now, use another computer to process the files recovery.
    5. Remember this, no matter at the normal time or after files recovery, build a backup for the files periodically is the best method to protect your files from data loss situation.

  • How to recover lost folders and files - Pls help, help...

Some days ago I lost all of my 15 GB folders and files that stored in my Macbook Pro hard drive called DATA.  I brought my Macbook pro to an experienced computer tecnicians who providing data recovery services. To his and my suprise, after checking, scanning it a few hours, he said their is no way to recover because he did not find any trails at all.  The computer still seems working properly - I have no problem with any applications.  There are few other folders in the DATA hard disk containing pictures, computer programs still remain.  These lost folders and files contain mainly documents (word, excel, power point, pdf etc) which I accumulated in my many years working  !!!!.  I did not make a back up since last September partly because I think Mac is very safe.
The computer with me all the time on that day and only my son used Power Point to make a simple presentation on that evening - he can not save it on the folders the he normally use - All the folders and files are gone.
I will appreciate it very much if any of you can tell me what would be the possible causes and more importanly how to recover the lost folders and files.  They are very very valuable to me.
Many thanks for your kind attention

First, did the data actually get deleted, or is it still there somewhere?  Try searching the drive for some of the documents, perhaps it's all just in another folder on that drive.
If it's truly gone, it's impossible for us to say what might have happened to make it unrecoverable.  Perhaps someone using the computer used Secure Empty Trash, or securely erased empty space on the hard drive.  Perhaps it was overwritten by other stuff before you noticed.  It's possible the hard drive is starting to fail, though this seems like an awfully specific problem for that to be the issue.
Or perhaps the tech you took the computer to didn't know what he was doing.  Why not try recovering what you can on your own?  See Recovering deleted files.
You should be aware that no computer is safe.  All computers rely on hardware that may fail and software that can have bugs.  You absolutely MUST maintain a good set of frequently-updated backups...  no fewer than two full backups of anything you don't want to lose.
