How to recover player from transfer er

I received my Zen Micro yesterday and have been finding it difficult to load up my tracks, which are a mixture of MP3s and WMAs.
Some will load successfully, then I'll get one or a few which won't, and the player locks up in the middle of the transfer process, showing the transfer symbol, but not responding to any touchpad controls.
Is there any way to recover from this lockout without having to wipe and reboot? Does this mean there's something wrong with my player, or are they all the same?

When I run a disk cleanup and reboot, it goes to Re-building library and stays there. Does it take a long time to do this? Like, overnight?
It's hard to say whether the same tracks are causing the problem, as I haven't downloaded them in the same order. At the most recent attempt, I was loading the tracks individually to try to discover if certain tracks were causing the problem but it is a lengthy business and I don't want to get to the stage where I've got hundreds of tracks to re-load every time I get a transfer error, if there is an easy solution that I haven't yet found.
I have downloaded all the latest firmware/updates, etc, as far as I can tell. This is my first MP3 player, so I am still on the learning curve. I've read back about 0 pages of the forum, and checked out the FAQ, but not found an answer to this problem.

If you are using Photo Stream on your computer (Mac - logged into iCloud & Phtot Stream on / PC - installed iCloud Control Panel logged in and have Photo Stream turned on) then the photos you deleted should be safe and sound on your computer. Otherwise you may be out of luck.

how to recover photos from a usb key to put on ipad

What do you mean 'how to recover' ? If you want to copy the photos from the USB drive to your iPad then you can try using the camera connection kit, but a lot of USB drives require more power than is supplied to the kit and the photos need to be in a particular format : you need to create a DCIM directory off the root of the drive with the photos underneath it, and the photo filenames need to be exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension i.e. in a similar format as if a camera had created/written them

I believe you will find you can again sync Photos if you delete the "iPod Photo Cache", but predict that any subsequent attempt will fail.  In my case, the enxt sync removes all the photos again - I've seen other reports of error messages upon sync.  Mine just fails silently. :-)

How to recover photos from device that screen doesnt work, and didn't use cloud or a memory card. (chip)

I'm sorry to hear you no longer have access to your pictures ItzKB11. I know they're important, we'll do everything we can to help. However, since you did not back them up to any source and the screen does not work, we only have a couple options. Try using the USB cable to tranfer to PC:
From the Device to a Computer
      • Launch Windows Explorer.
Using the computer keyboard, press Windows E (  E) keys.
Alternatively, right-click Start then click Explore.
      • Using Windows Explorer, navigate to:
      • SCH-I545 > Phone
      • Utilize the computer to copy video/picture files from the following folders into the desired folder(s) on the computer's hard drive:
      • DCIM
      • Download
      • Movies
      • Pictures
      • Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
If you're unable to retrieve them that way, use this http://vz.to/1zyIQwo.

How to sync the phone with Itunes, and how to recover the info?
    Can someone advise me?

What sort of info do you want to get off the phone ? If it's iTunes purchases then you should be able to copy them to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases
If it's music from other sources then there are some programs listed half-way down this page which should be able to copy them back : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Syncing a device with your computer's iTunes will copy content to the phone from your computer, it won't copy things back from the phone.
If you haven't synced the phone to that computer before then you may find this user-tip helpful : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141

  • How to recover data from bad hard drive

Once a hard drive goes bad (cannot get into the computer), is there any hope of recovering any data from it?  If so, how?

Do you mean the hard drive is mechanically broken for sure?  It's not a data corruption issue that is causing a problem with starting up the Mac, but maybe not be a bad mechanism?
If the drive is definitely broken, there are businesses that specialize in recovering data from bad hard drives.  For example
http://www.drivesaversdatarecovery.com/  (I always saw their booth at MacWorld Expos...)
The cost of such services is usually high.
    cannot get into the computer
So that probably means the hard drive in question is the internal drive?  If you don't know for sure that the hard drive is physically broken, you can try starting up using your Mac OS X installation disc.  Insert disc in optical drive and start up with the C key held down.  When you get to Installer's screen, go up to the menu bar and run Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.  Does the internal drive appear in the Disk Utility sidebar?
Alternately, if you have another Mac (that has FireWire), you can try starting the Mac with the problem in FireWire Target Disk Mode,
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1661
Connect the "target" Mac to the other Mac (running normally) using a FireWire cable.  Run Disk Utility on that Mac.  Does the hard drive of the Mac in FireWire Target Disk Mode appear in the sidebar?
If you can get the internal drive to appear in Disk Utility, you may be able to run Repair Disk on the First Aid tab.  There are also third-party utilities, such as TechTool Pro (Micromat), Drive Genius (Prosoft), and Disk Warrior (Alsoft), that may be able to fix (or at least recover data from) the hard drive.

  • How to recover data from a hard drive with bad blocks?

An external hard drive, 4TB Iomega...connected via eSATA cable...had a power outage and the drive won't be read by OSX now.  (Yes, it was on a surge protector and no I did not have a backup.  I was actually preparing for the process of creating a backup when the power went out!)  Anyway, I have tried using Data Rescue 3 and DiskDrill to try and recover data from the drive.  I can recover the first 1/3 of the drive, but it ejects when either app tries to access the bad block.  Can anyone tell me how/what software to use to recover the data?  I know there are programs that will avoid the bad block but I've only found them for Windows.  Are there any that will do such a thing in Lion?  Any help will be appreciated...and no, I can not afford a data recovery service.  Trying to do this on my own.

    Basics of File Recovery
If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten by using recovery software such as Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro.  Each of the preceding come on bootable CDs to enable usage without risk of writing more data to the hard drive.  Two free alternatives are Disk Drill and TestDisk.  Look for them and demos at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads.
The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.

You should order the recovery discs from Toshiba.
Toshiba Europe Backup Media Online Shop
After you have restored the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents, you should have the recovery utilities and partitions. See the A350 User's Manual (attached) for how to recover after that.
